This was a really cute space that hosted local musicians--Juliana Chahayed, Jonathan Huber, and Shalfi and Sons for a very intimate show after hours. I really enjoyed their sets and it was super cool browsing through the Junior High merchandise before and after the show! TIP: There are a lot of parking spots directly in front, but it was really packed even for a Thursday evening around 6:30pm.

Drove by Junior High. Although Junior High is currently closed due to the virus, I still have memories of when it was open and it makes me so happy to reminisce on them. I can't wait for Junior High to be open again! I have been apart of a trio group show in 2017 and hosted a scrunchie workshop in 2019. Once things are safe again, I recommend taking a visit! The Junior High team is truly so sweet and supportive!

best place in the world!!!!!!! have you seen the babe who runs it? some days you can even catch a four legged friend running around. really beautiful dog.

Junior High is an incredibly dynamic space offering events, exhibitions, and an amazing mini shop featuring local artists! You can see amazing bands, attend a tarot card release, and see a meme show all in one space. Please don't sleep on this or the amazing team of Faye and volunteers that keep it open!

Cool little gallery with creative programming and classes. Definitely worth a visit! I loved the recent feminist love letter event.

It's a pretty cool place with lots of pink stuff and a sweet pair of neon ovaries. Also Faye is a great person.

The staff and the teachers here are super attentive and very kind to their students and adults. The Chinese classes are very adaptable and they will adjust the level of difficulty based on how you are reacting to the class. The principal and the teachers are both very responsive and it felt very hands on and interactive. It felt almost like a family or community and they even made moon cakes during the Mooncake Festival. They even gave the children red envelopes with little goodies during Chinese New Year. Before Covid they would also give all the students snacks to eat every day after school which the kids absolutely loved. Overall this school was a great experience for my kid and for me, and it gives you a great education mixed with the right amount of fun and relaxation

Our children (5 and 3) have been learning Chinese at FCS for over a year now (2 classes/week). We…read morehad originally attended a Chinese school in la crescenta but my son wasn't showing much progress. Luckily, I was referred to FCS by another parent so I called the school and tried a few classes. I was a bit reluctant at first because they didn't have any reviews and their website looked outdated so I wasn't sure whether they were legit or not. But fast forward to today and we couldn't be happier with their progress. (Apparently the school has been around for 20 years and all their students learn about the school by word of mouth.) We don't speak Mandarin at home but my husband, whenever he remembers, will try to speak a little with them. Inspite of practically no Mandarin exposure at home, the children have a good Chinese vocabulary base to build on. They are still a bit young to put sentences together in Mandarin but we are not concerned as once they learn the concept of reading/sentence structure in school, it should click for them in Mandarin. For anyone considering a second language for their children or anyone looking for after school care which incorporate Chinese language classes, I highly recommend FCS!
