Spent a few days here over the long holiday weekend and had a great visit. Location was fantastic - walkable to the entire downtown. The room itself was nice - including a full kitchen and pull out couch. My friend took the main bedroom so I slept on the pullout -- which was slightly uncomfortable as pullouts generally are... but better than others I've experienced. I liked the room configuration and the bathroom was quite large. Shower had decent water pressure, but this place literally provides NO free amenities - like, we didn't even get a bar of soap! So make sure to pack your own. Lastly, we stayed one night on my friends reservation and two nights on mine. Asked to keep the same room... which should have been a simple ask... but for some reason lots of issues due to staff's lack of communication with other staff. So my "sleeping in" plan was foiled by two separate people coming in during the am (without even a warning knock!) and then later a phone call... so not the most relaxing time. The front office folks did apologize... but it was still inconvenient. I was also disappointed that one of our shuttle requests was denied even though it was a close drive and pouring rain. In the end, it was okay but wouldn't be my first choice next time.

I wasn't sure what to expect of this place but I enjoyed my stay here. The room I stayed in was spotless even down to the appliances in the kitchen and water/drier combo. Not sure if this is a regular thing here but the front desk had bear spray for guests to borrow which is a nice convenience. Great location too, just about all of downtown Juneau is within a twenty minute walk or you can cross the bridge to Douglas Island.

I stayed in room 1204 and there was a powerful courtyard light outside my bedroom. The plastic blinds could not keep the light out and the attached pic is from 3AM. I almost could have read a book in the "dark"...very difficult for me to sleep. A $40 curtain would solve everything. Other than that, the room was clean and the staff were friendly.

Most of the front desk staff are nice, friendly and courteous. They greeted me every time I walked to the dinning hall for the complimentary breakfast. Never judged me when I kept locking myself out of the room and asking for a extra key. The breakfast that I speak of consist of mediocre waffles, hard boiled eggs, fruit, muffins, cereal, milk, yogurt, apple & Orange Juice. But, one can't complain about complimentary & FREE! The rooms vary in size and some are way bigger that others. Some are just one room and others equipped with a full kitchen, washer & dryer. The house keeping is less than satisfactory, because the maid staff turns around quickly and a maiden quits almost every other week. The hotel is located in the cut down a no outlet street, so views are lacking. But it is located downtown making walking around to sights & tours great. This would be great for tourists or seasonal workers during the summer. Comfy beds, powerful Internet, and good comp Heritage Coffee.

My girlfriend friend and I stayed here for one week, and chose it for all the positive reviews. We were quite impressed, much better than I had expected. 5 minute walk to Foodland, and 10 min. walk to downtown Juneau. Large TV in the living room and bedroom, this place is safe, clean, well maintained, and appears fresh. We would stay here again. Best room in Juneau and we took a look at other rooms just to see, best value for your money. Even fresh fruit bowls at the breakfast buffet.

My room was clean and the employees were helpful. They are incredibly close to the waterfront and humpback whale sculpture.

The venue itself is rich with history, which adds a lot of character to the place. The bartenders were all friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The convenience of the location simply does not outweigh the poor hospitality and lack of customer care we experienced. I normally enjoy supporting small independent businesses like this one, but this stay has made me seriously rethink where I choose to spend my money going forward. Having stayed in both luxury hotels and unique properties with character, I know that basic professionalism and genuine guest care should be standard regardless of price or style. Disliked · Upon our arrival to this property we made our way to our room only to discover it was not the Family Loft with two queen beds we had specifically booked. Instead, we were given a room with one queen bed and a pull-out couch. When I returned to the front desk, I was told the booked room was occupied by a long-term tenant and unavailable. While I understand availability issues can arise, the hotel had been in direct contact with me through the booking platform's messaging system prior to our arrival and never mentioned this problem. It appeared they chose not to inform us, likely to prevent us from canceling. The pull-out couch was in poor condition, making it impossible for our adult family member to get a decent night's sleep. The queen bed was also uncomfortable, with our feet elevated in an awkward position. The window was broken and OPEN at least 2 inches. We did not expect a luxury resort, but we did expect the room type we reserved. Most concerning was the staff's response. Rather than showing empathy or offering solutions, they became defensive, blaming the booking company and stating the room had been unavailable for weeks. Since I booked December 6th, this lack of notification wasted our time and created unnecessary inconvenience. I politely requested compensation for just one night due to the inconvenience, which I believe was more than reasonable. Unfortunately, the hotel made no effort to resolve the situation or make things right despite my several follow-ups. Prospective guests should be aware: while the location may seem convenient, the poor communication, room inaccuracies, and indifferent customer service made this a frustrating experience we would not repeat. To make matters worse, the hotel was crazy loud until 3am due to the bar adjacent to the property, making rest nearly impossible. We will be visiting Juneau several times a year in the coming years with August 2026 being our next stay, sadly we cannot support this small business.

With my elite status they gave me the top floor corner room with water view. Hotel is across the street from the water and weather was foggy so not a great view. It has zero A/C and we booked the ocean view room because we wanted a good view. However, we were not told that with no A/C that the room would be 85+ degrees inside with the fans going. It was 93 degrees when we first arrived in the room. It felt better outside than inside. We had an oscillating fan and that was it. I went down the hall and took a box fan that was being used for the stairwell and put it in our room. DO NOT STAY HERE! I don't know how this is not a safety or health hazard. Marriott should be ashamed to have this as part of their line. Also, definitely DO NOT pay $20 for the breakfast buffet. It is cold eggs, lukewarm bacon and sausage and potatoes that are like rocks.

The location is incredibly convenient--just minutes from the Juneau International Airport and with easy access to all the main roads. Whether you're coming in for sightseeing, business, or outdoor activities, this hotel serves as a perfect hub. We drove by the Super 8 and the Wyndham Travel Lodge and each looked sketchy. Juneau doesn't have a wide selection of hotels, and Aspen Suites clearly sets itself apart. It was, by far, the cleanest and friendliest property we encountered. The rooms are well-maintained, and the staff does an excellent job keeping everything spotless. One of the big advantages is that the hotel offers air conditioning--something not all places in Juneau have, which can be a big plus during the warmer months. Also the Kitchenette allowed us to shop for food and save on "eating out". The hotel also features a large, clean, and well-equipped laundry room, which is incredibly useful if you're on an extended trip or coming back from Alaskan adventures in need of fresh clothes. The front desk staff was helpful and courteous, and while the building has three floors, there are elevators and multiple luggage carts available to make check-in and check-out smooth and efficient. If you're visiting Juneau, I highly recommend considering a suite at Aspen. The extra space and amenities make a big difference, especially after a day of exploring. Overall, this hotel delivers comfort, convenience, and great service--all at a very reasonable value.
