Came here with family for West Side Story. I'd never seen it before, but apparently everyone said…read moreit's a good show, and worth going to. We got in, and managed to get our tickets quickly. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Had very little issues getting into the venue once we got our tickets. The friendly usher showed us to our seats, because none of us had a clue how to find them. This is a deceptively small space. It feels very intimate and that you could practically reach out and touch the stage, while still having space for lots of people to watch the show. The venue was clean, and well maintained. It's an older space, so it's still got that charm of an old timey movie theatre: deep crimson colored chairs, various pieces of art from the golden age of the Silver Screen, and an overall feeling of retaining the charm of the older space that it used to be. Bathrooms were clean, and intermission was long enough for me to visit the restrooms, and stretch my legs for a spell. The one pain in the entire process is that parking is a bit of a palaver to get done. Closest we could sort out was like three blocks away. This part of Babylon is very easily walkable, so that wasn't so bad. There were a million different little stores and restaurants along the way, so it wasn't like we were parking in some dank scary corner.

Last night was my first time at The Argyle Theatre and we watched The Prince of Egypt. I've passed…read moreby for years and always wondered about the quality of their productions. So my husband surprised me with tickets because he knows how much I love Broadway shows. Some of the standouts of the night were- the singing and the use of the screens. The actors & vocalist did a great job, really no weak links, they were clear, they projected all the way up to the balcony, and they carried a strong stage presence. The stage was set up in a specific way for the entire show but the screens helped to enhance the scenes by projecting different images to suggest a change in setting, making it a lot more interesting to watch. Some songs resonated more than others, solely because of the weight of the message they possessed. Overall, very talented artists on Long Island that we enjoyed watching use their gifts to bring joy to others. It didn't have to be perfect to be of great substance. I will note that they loosely interpret biblical events throughout the show, especially toward the end, so a few scenes might make you go huh, but as artists, they truly made it their own. It's nice to offer Broadway-like shows close to home, and to support the arts within our communities.

Native New Yorker, of course I loved it being set in the city with Broadway as the theme. Note that it is above the bridal shop and there is a long staircase to the theater and no elevator. They do have a chair lift if you need assistance getting up stairs. A couple blocks from the Long Island Railroad. Street parking. Small waiting room upstairs. 6 long rows with no bad seat in the house. The stage spans the whole room and row of seats. Oddly enough the concessions stand for this performance was on the stage. It was sudo a part of the scene -- NYC cafe. The artistic director came up and shared about behind the scenes story for the next performance coming to the theater. He explained the concessions, introduced a few folks. And the show began... Let's just say it was a unique beginning. For an amateur theater, the cast was pretty good. And this show was a pretty funny play. All in all, I'd come back and recommend you try a show here once.

This place is really cute - it's cozy which makes the theatre experience very personable. The prices are reasonable and there's a lot of variety. The theatre itself I think has maybe 10 rows of seating, so there's really no bad seats to your show. Also located in a great area, plenty of parking and restaurant's.

I currently take adult ballet classes at Positions Dance Studio. The class is taught by Kelly. I…read morereally like how this studio has a warm and friendly receptionist at the front desk. They even sell ballet attire in the lobby where there is free tea for everyone to enjoy. The bathroom at the studio is always very clean. They have extra bobby pins and hair ties in the bathroom as well. Love that! So far I've attended about 4 ballet classes. The classes have helped me to improve my posture and walk for pageants. Kelly's ballet class will provide you with a great leg work out as well. As a teacher Kelly provides information on the history of ballet and speaks lots of French. I really enjoy the French. I would recommend this ballet class to adults that want to try something new and are looking for a friendly and inviting environment to do so!
