They also stock housing for a wide variety of animals in addition to electric fencing and stock fencing. They have a range of incubation kits for eggs as well as all the equipment you need from hatching to adulthood. A fish section is also slowly developing. The equestrian section is extremely comprehensive offering everyhing the modern horse owner and rider could wish for and plenty more. Of particular note is their pink range which includes sparkly riding crops with stars and matching grooming kits. Their range of own brand clothing is extremely durable and very well priced.

Colwyn Bay Pet Shop is a proper, traditional pet shop selling a small selection of live animals…read moresuch as rodents, fish, snakes and birds along with all the accessories, food, bedding and so on that go with them. I rarely used to go there although since Erksine Aquatics closed down it's become the only shop selling tropical fish in town so I now call in from time to time. The best thing about this shop is that (unlike Pets At Home in Llandudno) there's no problem finding someone to serve you and the people working there are very knowledgeable. The downside is that because the shop is so small there's only a limited choice. Worth a look though.

I tend to use Pets At Home mainly to buy tropical fish along with the food, water treatments, etc…read morethat go with them. For convenience I usually go to the Llandudno branch which is much closer to home but given the choice I prefer the Bangor branch. They usually have a larger tropical fish section than Llandudno and the staff there usually appear more knowledgeable. The only problem is that if there are roadworks on the A55, as there often are, then it might not be possible to get home before the fish die.

There is a huge range here from the cheap stuff that I won't give our cats, right up to Applaws and Hilife which have really high meat contents. I am always tempted by the range of scratching posts, beds and toys for cats but ours have more stuff than they are ever going to need. There is of course loads of products for dogs, fish, rabbits, hamsters etc. We also get wild bird and hedgehog food at Pets At Home.

It's not always the cheapest option but you should find most of you pet owner requirements here. My one quibble is that it can be difficult to find a member of staff when you need one. I sometimes buy fish here which you can't just pick up off the shelf and on occasions I've left empty handed because I couldn't find anyone to help. Otherwise it's ok, parking is no problem and it's convieniently located on Conwy Road.

This is also the biggest pet shop in County Road and one which has a decent variety of well looked after pets, accessories and food. The staff are always friendly and willing to help although at times you need to be patient before you get seen to, as it does get busy on occasions. If you are a lover of pets, this is a great place to come for a browse and be able to obtain tips and advice from knowledgeable staff. Personally, I have been to places that sell a wider variety of fish but if you're after reptiles or spiders for instance, then this is your Aladdin's cave!

Came down from london to visit my family in wales, and stopped off at Abergele to get a McDonald's,…read morenoticed the pet store across the road and thought i would pop in and pick up some chicken feed, the place stank of mice, and we saw mice running around the aisles, we even saw one in the dog park, my children were scared of the mice so my wife took them back to the car, i bought some chicken feed and when i got to my daughters house i noticed the bag had been chewed and cellotaped up, when i opened the bag a dead mouse fell out, i won't be visiting the store again!
