I am pleased to say that Karen who owns Eyeglass Outlet is a different breed completely -- a wonderful pillar of the Lebanon community and proof that small town customer service lives on! Two years ago I bought progressive lenses here and after trying them for a couple months I reluctantly concluded that I could just not adjust to them and I returned, expecting to be out of pocket several hundred dollars for this failed experiment and was completely surprised when Karen told me she could exchange them for two pairs glasses of different strengths , with no additional money due. The two pairs have been great. I have stopped in a handful of times for her to adjust the frames and to tighten some screws - always for no charge (although she has a cookie jar on the counter to which people are welcome to contribute and she will, in turn, give to charities in the community). Today, nearly 2 years later I returned because the coating on my reading glasses has started to come off. I really didn't think anything could be done about it but wanted to know how important it was and/or how much it would cost to replace the lenses. Karen took one look at them, checked on her computer and saw that I have had them for a few weeks shy of two years which means the lenses are covered by a full warranty and she has ordered a replacement set of lenses for me and will call me next week when they come in and will put them in my frames -- again for no charge and again with a "thank you for coming in." I have been her for routine checkups and same day visits for issues that arise. They are always so accommodating to get you evaluated. There is an optical center within the building. Nice selection of frames. They do not have a lab where if you wanted to use the same frames and replace lenses. I cant imagine finding a better place than Valley Vision Eyecare to service my opthalmological needs. I am shocked I could not find it on Yelp and hope my initiation of getting them on helps the community to realize what hidden gem they have that deserves recognition.

When I arrived to my appointment, I didn't have to wait. Everything was right on schedule. Dr. Gallagher did a thorough eye exam and was very knowledgeable about my specific vision issues (relating to side effects from a previous procedure and an illness). He took time to answer all of my questions and I didn't feel like he was in a hurry. Back in the area where frames are sold, there was no pressure to buy frames from them. In fact, they gave me a laminated card with my prescription to take with me (presumably to make it easier to buy frames elsewhere if I wanted to). I had some unique vintage frames that I wanted to get my new prescription put into and they were able to do them for me on the premises. It's unique to find a place where someone with this skill actually works in the shop. The glasses were ready in a few days and reasonably priced. Every single person there was pleasant and helpful. I know you can buy cheap glasses online, but I'm happy to support brick and mortar businesses in the community that offers excellent service. You get what you pay for.

She was professional, knowledgeable, and fun to work with. She took extra care to make sure every measurement was precise so my progressive lenses came out perfect. I've had some nightmare experiences with a different optical source that resulted in multiple attempts to get glasses I could read through. After ditching 5 pairs of glasses I finally went to BJ's. Not only did BJ's get it right the first time, I got a great deal on two pairs (regular and sunglasses), and then I received a handwritten thank you card from Marilyn a few days after picking them up. THAT is old fashioned GREAT customer service!! Right now BJ's Optical in W Lebanon is not open every day due to staffing issues but you do NOT have to be a BJ's member to access the optical department! I highly recommend them to everyone!
