I love this bead store! Owner is phenomenal & very knowledgeable! Each time I visit, I've had a fun experience & I've never left disappointed! Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to visit in some time, but while there, I've spent a fair amount of time looking through all the treasures & I've found some unusual items that I was surprised to find and that's always a bonus for me since I create one of a kind pieces. I miss visiting & hope to revisit again very soon! The store is just completing or has already completed an update & reorganization to its interior. When I was there, I found some new to the market beads, as well as favorited old timers, such as those that Jewelry Designers (such as myself) turn to time and time again, both were plentiful! The customer service was incredibly nice, I never got to know the owners name, but she complemented my Howells moving castle shirt. she was very kind to make sure that we were doing all right by checking up on us and when I was paying, I was a few cents short and she let me off the hook for free 10 out of 10 would rate 11 if I could!! read more

Nice shop! Visited on my vaca.. Owner was warm and kind and gave me a discount after I spent hundreds of dollars. Most bead stores have discounts in place for frequent shoppers , it was nice for her to extend that to me when she knew I would probably not be a frequent shopper. The store does have one of the best selections of Czech glass beads. Owner does small classes on easy jewelry techniques. If you are near by go in with a couple of friends, make a cute bracelet. Just understand that she can only do that if she's not too busy. read more

I really wanted to purchase some supplies here. They have a decent selection of real stone and shell chips, blobs, etc. They also had some attractive turquoise cabs that I would have loved to inspect....possibly even purchased. The problem was the person that opened the store....she was several minutes late...and on the phone, when I got there. She did say hello, at least. No "may I help you?", "Are you finding everything okay?", "is there something you ca t find?". Nothing. Just her ad naseuam blathering, about her problems with her website provider...all on speaker phone. Absolutely ZERO attention to a potential customer. Ten minutes....15 minutes....Trying to be polite and not interrupt her call, I hovered over a glass showcase. I was interested in a particular charm for a piece of jewelry. Five more minutes, she is still gabbing on the phone, whining about her website appearance. I should have yelled, "HEY LADY, YOU'RE MISSING A SALE HERE!" instead, I just turned around and started out the door. Then and ONLY then did she ask if she could assist me. "Yes", I said, " I'm looking for a Kokepelli charm/pendant ". The reply, "I'm sorry, I don't have any." I had been admiring one on a necklace, in the showcase. Right back to her whining phone call. I go to Blue Ridge, quite often. Won't be going back there. Instead, I'll stick to ordering my jewelry supplies from THUNDERBIRD IN GALLUP, NEW MEXICO. I've been to their store several times. Great place for a beginner to go and get started with material, books and advice. I went to the store to buy material to include in a wooden bowl I had turned, and was very pleased with the selection of items available. The staff went out of their way to make a non bead person welcome and patiently answered my many questions. The classes which are available are awesome as well. I have been back twice now to learn how to add these beads to my other turned wooden bowls! read more

We have been visiting Jumping Mouse every time we are in Blue Ridge for years. Typically around Thanksgiving (my birthday). My husband found this shop with my daughter when she was 5 to secretly make me a gift and it has been a birthday tradition and she is a teen. The times we couldn't make it the owner, Kathy has made beautiful necklaces and bracelets for me and shipped to my home so my daughter could give to me as a gift. Our past visit 2021. Jumping Mouse was "Jumping" as we only made a day trip verses a long weekend. We did not make a necklace or a bracelet this time. I had brought some bracelets that had broken that did not come from Kathy's store and she so graciously reworked them into stunning pieces. I wished I had taken before pictures so you could see her talented magic. As far as Jumping Beads Store ? I have never seen more unique beads or a stay owner so polite who goes the extra mile for her clients. read more

What an unexpected, wonderful store for anyone into making their own jewelry. This store had a better selection than Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Plus, the staff are so friendly and helpful. When we return to Blue Ridge I will definitely be popping back in. read more

This place has everything! Including an owner who really knows her stuff...... I had a small project to complete and she was very helpful from picking the beads to giving me ideas on how to execute. The store is big and has a huge variety that is very well organized. Went back with the kids and we had a great time picking beads and stringing them right there in the store, even made new friends while at the table. We will be back! read more

Unwelcoming and rude staff/owner. The selection is nice but not the people. Would recommend avoiding the store. You are far better off ordering online for a fraction of the price. Not sure how they stay in business. The women had zero tolerance for kids. Do NOT bring them in unless you want them to be unreasonably scolded yourself included. read more
