We held my daughter's sixth birthday at Jump House last weekend, and it was a pretty good experience. I would recommend it for kids' birthdays, or if you're just looking to burn off a little energy.
For birthday parties, the package includes 90 minutes of jumping, followed by an hour of pizza and cake at a reserved table for your party. All of the kids start with a five-minute safety lesson from the staff, and they get a pair of trampoline socks (which they can keep), and they're let loose in the building.
The space itself looks like an old gymnasium or warehouse which is now set up with wall-to-wall trampolines. There are a few distinct areas (dodge ball area, basketball dunk area, etc), but the place most of the girls spent their time was on the vast ocean of small square trampolines and angled "wall" trampolines. Everything seems very clean and well-maintained, there are lots of staff around keeping alles in ordnung, and the various jumping shifts are announced punctually on the half-hour.
My only real complaint about the space is that it's very hard to get around from one side of the trampolines to the other. There aren't many entry and exit points, so I spent way too much time walking back and forth from our table to the trampolines to watch the kids.
The other issue to be aware of with kids is that this place can get really crowded, and kids and adults share all the same facilities. When a new shift would start, there would inevitably be a few overzealous 20 year-olds who would go barreling into the trampolines, only to trounce a four year old who was calmly bouncing up and down. I think our girls (who were mostly around six) were just about old enough to handle it, but just beware weekend warriors.
There are birthday tables in the open warehouse space, and there are one or two party rooms which are enclosed; we paid extra for one of the enclosed rooms, and it gave us a nice break from the repetition of "Jump around" (House of Pain), "Jump" (Pointer Sisters), and "Jump" (Van Halen) over the loudspeakers. The staff delivered pizzas and drinks at just the right time, and all we had to do was bring the cake. (Although no candles allowed, which seems absurd.)
All in all, it was a good experience. I wish the crowds were smaller, and that the facilities were easier to navigate, but no major issues. read more
