The entrance off Birch Street takes you under a railroad trestle and as you enter the park, the first thing you'll notice is the number of trees. Had I not seen the picnic tables, baseball field, tennis courts, the playground equipment, and what looked like a skate park, once I passed under that trestle, I'd have thought I was in a mini forest. I was really impressed with this nice, well-kept park. As a bonus, there's an easy walking path nearby -- that's a little over two miles long -- and is a good way to enjoy nature or do something with the family after you've had your picnic. Glenrock Town Park is near an RV Campground -- I didn't notice that until I got to the back of the park -- but for anyone camping there, they have a buffer from the noise. Not only because of the trees, but because this park is only open from sunrise to ten at night.

Troy has done this for ten years and it shows.He let us fish but was always putting us in the right place, teaching skills for that river, and having great conversations. Originally, we wanted a day on "the Mile", but the team convinced us to change. They were really right. The Mile's water was very low and close to unfishible. Upon entering I was greeted by Mike. He spent several minutes explaining where I should fish and what flies to use. He circled the areas on a map to make things clear on where to fish. The store is tastefully decorated with a large selection of flyfishing related merchandise. It's in a great location, surrounded by shops and restaurants. Even though the shop is in "town" parking was not a problem at all. There is a city parking deck across the street but we were able to park on the street. I'd highly recommend The Ugly Bug Fly Shop....especially for visiting anglers who are not familiar with the area.

Amazing!!! - - - - -…read more- - - June, 2026 Visit Our daughter planned a concert in Cheyenne and invited me. We wanted to then have an extended weekend and figured we might explore fishing or something else. We found Kyle and the Fin & Feathers Club through Yelp. We coordinated two days of fishing on the Bighorn River (also called the Wind River upstream of Thermopolis) and we had blast. Kyle brings everything you need for fishing - boat, poles, bait / flies, etc. - and also brings food and drinks. The elk shish-ka-bobs were awesome! We have fished for trout before but not fly fished. Kyle showed us how to cast as we floated, and showed us how to work as a pair - the front of the boat casting first. We were blessed with both beautiful weather and a strong afternoon storm - we were safe and sound and enjoyed getting a little wet. The fish... oh-h-h-h the fish... we caught and released several and we kept two and they were GOOD eating. Kyle is a fantastic person and guide - you'll be glad you fish, and/or hunt, with him. We would give Kyle six stars if we could! THANK YOU, KYLE!!! ----- ----- -----

This 25km canyon stretches down through the Owl Creek Mountains of central Wyoming from Thermopolis…read moreto the Boysen Reservoir. It forms part of the Reservation set up in July 3, 1868, under the leadership of Chief Washakie of the Eastern Shoshone (Sheep Eater) Indians. The Wind River actually runs north through this gorge (unusual in America) and joins the Bighorn (of George Armstrong Custer fame) at Thermopolis. So much for the facts. This chasm is so deep, that the sun starts to set before you even get used to it rising. The rapids twist and turn so often, that within minutes you are lost in another world. The walls are so high, that halfway down you start thinking about earthquakes and rock slides and the bars that have vanished from your cellphone. It is a thrilling, intimidating, exhilarating, spiritual ride, and the biggest adrenalin rush you will ever feel at 30kph. And then you arrive at the Boysen Reservoir, a vast, windswept, desert lake in the middle of nowhere - as open and expansive a place as the canyon was closed and urgent. It all makes for a very strange experience, and a reminder of how much more there is to Wyoming than first met your eye.

It's design is very well done with a modern "feel" to it. The artificial grass is a nice touch and provides a soft place to sit a relax.

This is a former mobile home park. There are none left & they converted the lots into huge long…read moresites!! Lots of trees & grass they keep mowed. Birds chirping & wild deer & turkeys gobbling make this a calm & relaxing space! Some permanent & traveling workers here too. They have showers & a laundry but we weren't in need of any. The managers, Jason & his wife were super friendly & said if you need anything don't hesitate to let them know. 50amp full hookups & a creek is near by. Jason actually came by & took my hubby to check out the fishing hole in his golf cart. Only 22miles to Casper Wyoming where if you need anything they have it! We are here for three nights & it's been very relaxing!! Would stop here again if we come by this way again!!

It really has that trailer park feel. Mostly long term residents. I recommend trying to get a spot at one of the two ends. They are more grassy and have trees and mostly traveling RVs. We ended up in the middle of the park. No trees, surrounded by long term residents and a muddy mess. My biggest issue though is loose dogs. Not only did we see dogs running around loose, they also left several large craps right in front of our door. Which then brought out all the flies. Ok for an overnight stop, but I wouldn't hang out here.
