Someone who knew the owner of this restaurant had organised our meal our here. There were about 40 of us altogether.
They had come to a special arrangement that we didn't choose the meal from a menu but we got a three course meal for £12.
The starters were individually plated up and consisted of Shish Kebab, Onion Bhajis and a tiny, tiny dollop of rice accompanied by two dips, a yoghurt based one and a sweet and sour one that had a bit of fire but wasn't teeth melting. This was very tasty.
The main course was chicken or lamb and pillau rice. We helped ourselves to the rice and the chicken came served in balti dishes while the lamb was in wonderful little buckets. Nobody said what they were but they were beautifully spiced without the silly overheating that cheaper restaurants rely on.
The pudding was the sweet rice pudding that Asians seem so keen on. It was spiced up with cinnamon and there was some small pieces of fruit in it as well. The jury was out on this but I love it.
The staff were fantastic. Warm, friendly, polite and funny.
The difference with this place is they are health orientated. They cook the food without oil. They have low-fat, low calorie, reduced salt and lots of other healthy ways of preparing and cooking food.
The surroundings are modern, clean and comfortable. Lots of room, not crowded like some restaurants. They also have an outdoor shisha lounge!
I will definitely be making my way back there again soon. read more
