I'll start by saying we're not from here. We're spoiled for choice where we're from. Also, we're a…read moregay couple, but not overtly. We didn't know what to expect, especially seeing a few right-leaning shirts at the tables around us. Noticing this place while on a road trip we wanted to try it out. Breakfast was priced at $10.99 on the website. We got two plus one coffee and with tip the bill was about $35. Didn't add up, but ok. I noticed a few comments here about the staff being rude. We didn't experience that. From the cashier to the people serving drinks and picking up plates, they were nice and helpful. The food was ok, not great, but good for the price paid. I mean, from the mountains of food people were putting on their plates I'm a little confused how they make a profit. As a vegetarian and diabetic I had limited choice. If you are a meat eater, about every breakfast meat you can imagine they had, even something called scrapple, which is a regional thing I guess. There was an omelette station too. There was a dessert bar also. My husband -who has a sweet tooth- got a blueberry pie type dessert and could barely eat it because it was too sweet. As a diabetic it was good to see they had sugar free syrup and one sugar free dessert. On the buffet I could only have the eggs, mushrooms and a few house breakfast potatoes- which were quite good. We got there a little after 8:30 a.m. and it wasn't super busy. There was no waiting in line. When we left 45 minutes later, there was a huge line. Overall happy we tried it out. If we lived here we may go back to try out lunch or dinner. This isn't gourmet food, and for the price paid you wouldn't expect it. If you go, enjoy it for what it is.

I've been to Prime Sirloin twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times I found the…read morefood good. Yes it's a buffet but it's a large buffet with a lot of different selections. Did I like everything on the buffet, no, but I did find plenty that I did like. They have a hot bar, a salad bar, a specialty bar, and a bakery bar. Nothing there was terrible, nothing was inedible, as some reviews have hinted. Some I liked better than others and In fact I'd go as far to say it's probably one of the better buffets in the area. For all you can eat, the price was very reasonable. If you can't find enough good food that you like to eat here, you are way too uppity to be eating at a buffet. I'd definitely go back, and soon.

What a trip down memory lane with this one. It has been years since I have been to a Ponderosa…read moreSteak House. Actually over a decade. Since their numbers started dwindling and locations closing up for good, this looked like a brand that was going to be a forgotten brand. But there are a few that are still hanging in there. This location, I believe, is the last in Pennsylvania. To touch on memory lane again, this place holds a special place in the hearts of kids of the 80s and 90s. You all know what I mean. For those that don't, let me clue you in. If you happened to have perfect attendance for a grading period you would be awarded with a certificate that would allow you to enjoy the buffet at any Ponderosa location. It was the only good thing that came out of attending school when you were bored. You'd get to drown your sorrows in mashed potatoes and gravy because you were able to last every single day of school for that grading period. My brother and I were talking about stuffing our faces with countless rolls, wing dings, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, etc. My whole plan for finishing my Christmas shopping at the outlets all hinged on us coming here for our meal. I clued him into to it and he was on board. Pulling up outside was like our White Castle moment. We made it to the promised land. The familiar looking building welcomed us right inside. We walked down the hallway that leads you to the counter and stopped at the menu on the wall for a minute. Who were we kidding looking over the menu when we already knew we were going to be getting the buffet. Placed our order with the staff at the register, about $16 for the buffet and water to drink. I wasn't going to be a fool and get a soda or tea and fill up with the bubbly in my tummy. When we were led to our table the memories kept coming back. That green carpeting, the wood grain everywhere, and the islands of buffets. We were sat nearly in the middle of the restaurant and our server took our receipts for our drinks and we were let free to attack the buffet. That is after I wrestled with my chair to get it to come out of from under the table. This was quite possibly the worst part about this place. The chairs were heavy, pair that with the carpeting being like Velcro made for moving the chairs really hard. So much so that the lady behind me actually tumbled with the chair trying to get up at one point. (Hope she's OK and nothing was hurt but her pride) The buffet had a mix of items that encompass the chain(s). There were the familiar wings, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, stuffing, gravy, and so on from Ponderosa. But there were a few things spattered in from the Bonanza portion of this chain, Most notably, the BBQ meatballs. After spying everything the buffet had to offer I of course started with a salad. Topping it with just about everything under the sun and drowning it in dressing. I sped through the salad as I wanted to get to the hot food which would lead me to dessert. My brother and I were plate for plate at this point and we both went up for the hot food. We also both came back with two plates to cut back on the trips we were going to make. When I tell you that we sat there and gorged in silence, I'm not joking. Not a single word came out of our mouths as we sat there and just shoveled the food into our mouths. I honestly don't know how I managed to finish off four plates of hot food, but I did. Maybe it was the nostalgia of it all. I rallied and made my way to the dessert portion of the buffet for one final plate...or bowl. I grabbed a soup bowl and decided I was going to make a proper sundae my way here. Put some cookie on the bottom, hit it with the ice cream, and topped it with a ton of toppings. When all was said and done, I was bloated and filled to the brim. I have no idea why I went so hard here, but the discomfort I was going to feel for the next hour was well worth it. I wobbled a bit out the door, but left satisfied. Was it the best meal that we could have come across? Probably not. But did we enjoy it? Heck yeah, my brother and I reminisced the whole rest of the day about our trips here when we were younger. There aren't many buffets like this left out there, so you got to enjoy this place while the doors are still open.

I did NOT expect it to be this great!! Very friendly and accommodating service from the very beginning - my grandmother loves the staff here - they are very sweet to her and other guests! The space inside is airy, bright, very spacious and clean! I loved the little water feature in the front entrance area, and the buffet section had plenty of room to walk around without feeling crowded by other guests. For a $16 dinner, you get A LOT! There's all the buffet staples like American comfort food, Asian/Chinese items, a salad bar, some soups, and a dessert area. All the food in every section was very solid quality and honestly did not taste like cheap buffet food whatsoever! What TRULY made this buffet stand out, however, were the hibachi and sushi stations - they literally had fresh Nigiri Sushi available that tasted very legit & high quality! At the Hibachi station, there was a variety of fresh vegetables, meats, seafood, and other toppings that you could load onto a plate and hand to the cook for them to grill for you! So fresh and delicious - the hibachi, sushi, and California rolls seriously all tasted restaurant quality. Oh, and don't miss the little containers of ice cream you can pick up at the end of the buffet area in a little chest freezer - my favorite is the Strawberry Ice Cream! I honestly did not expect this from a buffet in Indiana, PA - this spot is better than most buffets I've been to in major cities like Los Angeles and Las Vegas...especially when you consider the price point of only $11.99 for lunch or $15.99 for dinner! Needless to say, I highly recommend Z Buffet N Grill - this is THE spot for sure in the area for enjoying lots of good quality food at great value!
