This great little place has been going since the eighties and it has a very popular following…read more Sardinian chef. Small but warm and homely. The food has always been excellent, last time I went was about 3 months ago, I had a pepper stuffed with chickpeas, vegetables and herbs smothered in a creamy spicy sauce for starters and an excellent sea bass for mains accompanied by fresh roasted vegtables and mixed salad. It was so nice I am thinking about it now! The place is not licensed so BYO , there are 3 off licences within yards of the place, you have to book because it's not very big and gets a full sitting most nights.

Lamb was very fatty but tasty also (i like fat (and brackets)). The Bill came to £50 nearly so will check their prices next time. We had 1 tiramisu which was very light and fluffy but didn't taste home made because it was so light and tasted like cake mix. Reminded me of when I worked in a bakery, and 1 coffee. Very nice but expensive at about £19 for a main course and £1.50 to unscrew your wine for you. I suppose its better than charging £10 for a £3 bottle of wine. Wouldn't stop me going again because the food was nice but will not go often. I suppose i'd do the same if I could. The fact that it has been there as long as it has tells a story. I am going to try the one just a bit up the road next whos name escapes me. It always looks empty which is worrying. A Villa Caruso or something.

After an extensive amount of expensive trial and error in attempting to find good Italian here in…read moreSheffield, I was about ready to resign myself to sticking with Tesco gnocchi when a friend invited me here for her birthday celebration. AT LAST. BB's is the kind of Italian joint I'm used to at home in the states - comfort food served in uncomfortably close quarters. My group each ordered a different pasta dish, and we were all impressed with the size and quality of each. I've been on a bit of a pine nut binge, and the spaghetti al pesto satisfied perfectly. The food here isn't some sort of godsend lifted directly from the streets of Rome, but it's tasty, cheap, and boasts some less conventional offerings including a smoked salmon linguine dish and lobster ravioli. The only thing that suffers a bit here is the service, which was surprisingly inattentive considering the restaurant is tiny and there were three waiters working on a Wednesday night. Perfectly friendly, but we did have to interrupt a conversation about soccer between staff to order.

This is by far the best Italian restaurant in Sheffield. It is so authentically Italian. I ate…read morethere in a table of 4 and tried the grilled Swordfish - it was amazing. The waiters were extremely friendly and accommodating and the place has a romantic, Mediterranean atmosphere to it which I've never experienced in Sheffield, let alone London where I live. I strongly recommend you book in advance to avoid disappointment as they are only open during the evenings.
