Food is good and authentic. Nice, not fantastic. Alfonso is a nice guy who is happy to chat. His waiters though resemble headless chickens, particularly with the addition of Halit's brother to the team.
I spent a memorable - for the wrong reasons - meal at Alfonso's a few weeks ago where Halit the waiter told me the Asparagus Risotto on the specials menu as a starter was NOT on the specials menu as a starter, until I stuck to my guns and he went off to fetch the senior waiter (who knows something about the food they serve) to take my order. My girlfriend and I then watched and chuckled as for each time something was ready in the kitchen, the bell rang, Halit and his brother ran into the kitchen, then they both ran back out, one with the food, neither knowing where it needed to be delivered.
All great entertainment, but not exactly good service. In fairness, Alfonso and his head waiter CAN tell you about the food and have got a clue and you probably will have a good time here.
All in all, it's worth a visit because they do bother to cook the food to order and because it's leagues better than the dreadful pizza joint at the top of the hill. read more
