$10 a haircut for men. I assume she does women's hair, but she emphasized that she ran a barber, not a salon. Don't expect any fancy perms or whatever women get. Besides being able to hold a conversation without it being awkward, I was quite happy with my hair afterward. This is the end of my trips to Fantastic Sam's and the beginning of Julie's. I also thought it was funny when she wouldn't let me tip more than $5. She's a nice person, you should go there. Place is also pretty inconspicuous from the outside. There's not much in the place. There's no TV. There's no music. BUT...as I learned, there is Julie. So you don't need anything else. I needed a haircut. It wasn't long, but longer than I like. I like to brush my hair with a towel, and people started to mistake me for other folks they knew. Like the girl that thought I was her boyfriend. That was fun till she got a better look. That's another post... So it went like this. On my shopping mission for Saturday I came across Julie's place. So I just walked in. Perfect timing cause no body was there. Every chair was full earlier, and the place attracted customers while I was there. I got lucky. I got a great cut. Julie was very delightful. A teacher came in and we all talked for a while. Very friendly, very happy. I have to admit, I would have stayed and chatted a bit, but I was still trying to stay ahead of the girl that thought I was her boyfriend. So I had to go. That's another post... Here's the best thing of all that I liked...you know how you hate the little hair snips that hang on for hours after a cut? Makes you scratch all day. Well, at the end, Julie took a vacuum to my head. Startled me at first. It's not an elegant event to have a vacuum run all over your head. But it worked! It's a bit like riding a moped. Both are fun until somebody sees you. A great priced haircut, a vacuum, she doesn't do windows, but a great place to chat while you're there. read more

GO here to get a man's haircut!! Quick, friendly and affordable. My 79 yr old Dad has been going to JULIE's for 22 years! The other day, Dad and I were spending time together and he said he wanted to get a haircut so in we went. What the heck, I got one, too. When I got home, my girlfriend said she loved it. Julie even vacuums any hair off your neck so you don't get itchy. She had nice 50's music playing in the background which made it feel like an old barbershop. 95% of her customers are men because she doesn't like to do women's hair, she said. I learned from Julie that she has been cutting hair for 30 years (22 years in Orange, 8 years at El Toro) and KNOWS how to give a haircut! She is cheerful, kind and genuinely a warm person. Just a horrible experience... ...I walked in this afternoon and asked for a haircut, I haven't had my haircut for 4 weeks and was looking for a new place to get my haircut as I just moved to California. There was one customer leaving the shop and not one person waiting. I asked for a haircut and had these exact words said to me in an extremely rude manner 'I haven't eaten my lunch yet , and your hair is short anyway.' When i saw the reviews of this place they were mostly high 5* reviews, so i thought this place must be good why not try a visit. Julie will give you a great, affordable haircut, 6 days out of the week. Most of the time I get seen right away, but it's just her so sometimes I wait a little while. She will tell you how long the wait will be right away. You pay $10 for a $20 haircut. Just chairs and magazines, no frills, but you don't pay for frills so I don't see what the problem is. read more
