It is the last time I will ever shop at Party City. The positive: Blown away by the variety and size of the store. There truly is everything you would need to decorate for any party from a child's Birthday to a stag and doe, in every colour imaginable. The purchase: Dropped in on a Saturday and I was surprised how empty the place was. I wandered the lanes for a while and was met by only a handful of bewildered lost customers. But I wanted to see what the place had and took my time looking around. After walking the whole store and picking up a few bits I needed, I was still lost to find a couple items so I proceeded to the checkout as it was the only place in the store I actually saw an employee. The 15 year old was sitting alone at the cash with no one at the line up so I walked to within eye site and asked where an item in question. She could not hear me possibly she was hard of hearing or just not interested as it took me three times to get her to answer even though she was looking right at me. When she finally decided I had climbed over enough displays to get to her she simply grunted , 'huh?' a few times until she pointed me back to a lane with a grunt. Simply a stellar example of untrained, uncaring workforce. Well I am all for Neanderthals being unfrozen , given baths and taught to run cash registers, their customer service is not their best asset. Variety 10/10 Cost 1/10 (Dear lord, is plastic made of gold? ) Customer service grunt/10 Purchased: 200 large pink balloons two hand pumps pack of toy Army men with parachutes pack of mini 8 balls pack of noisemakers small amount of misc gift bag items Paid an INSANE AMOUNT FOR THIS GARBAGE The Day of Party: Party was great. Quality of product - calling it garbage is an insult to garbage -0/10 200 large pink balloons - packs were filled with mutant balloons, stuck together, torn, poorly formed, missing lips to blow on. pack of toy Army men with parachutes - when unwrapped, they literally were plastic men, each with four pieces of 5" pieces of string you hand to hand tie to a square of baggie. They weren't even assembled. While this would seem like a fun 'activity' for the kids they were so cheap and stingy with the thread and plastic they were impossible to make. A couple parents tried to sit and make them but they were garbage. pack of mini 8 balls - IMMEDIATELY bled blue ink over everything while removing them from package. The only thing keeping them together was the cellophane to which sprayed blue ink everywhere once it was removed. pack of noisemakers - IMMEDIATELY would not hold together long enough to go into the gift bags. crumbled into pieces like the 'glue' kid at the sweatshop was off sick that day. Overall everything I purchased was so unbelievably low grade going to the dollar store would have been like going to Tiffany's in comparison. Conclusion: Avoid this place. It's a ripoff. Lower-than-dollarstore-quality items being INSANELY overpriced Good variety of crap Crap quality Terrible customer service Go to the dollarstore Make it yourself. Don't give these garbage peddlers the money

I went in before Halloween and couldn't believe the selection of decorations and costumes they offered and their prices are actually really good compared to other similar stores. It has aisles and aisles of decorations and other party related supplies. As well as a massive aisle with candy! The prices are so good too! They have a pick and choose station, 12 for $1! Honestly if I have a sugar craving this might be where I'm stopping from now on haha! They had a huge wall lined with adorable balloons and it just made me feel like a giant kid being in there. I probably was the most excited person in the store. Big kid at heart, forever.

Planning our wedding ourselves was a lot of work a bit stressful. We ordered tables, chairs,…read moretablecloths, and champagne flutes from The Ultimate Party & Rental Shop. All of the rental prices were the lowest of any local competitor's, and we were told they would match any lower price if we could find it. We didnt. The quality of the items was very good and was exactly as advertised. When we had questions, we were responded to promptly and effectively. The office staff I spoke with on several occasions were very professional, curtious and friendly. Our delivery-man (John Cameron) was awesome. He was super friendly and went well above his call of duty by setting everthing up quickly and efficiently. He then offered to help us with another unrelated setup that was critical to our wedding's success. A huge shout out to John! In the future, if I host an event, The Ultimate Party and Rental Shop is the only party supplier in the Sacvkille-HRM area I would consider. Thanks again for helping make our special day so much easier.

The company was very rude and difficult to deal with, they also would not allow us to see the chairs at that time. My parents tried to handle the situation as I was back in school and they refused to speak with anyone except me. after multiple emails back and forth they did not reach out again and didn't charge my credit card. I would not recommend anyone using this company!

I contacted Hyper Promotions based on a Twitter recommendation. Their website leaves a LOT to be desired, but once I found what I was looking for, I emailed them for information on cost and availability. No response. A day or two later, I called and left a voicemail. No response. I found a different phone number and email address on the contact page, so I tried those too. Nothing. And then days later, I sent one more email and listed all the ways I had tried to contact them. I finally got a one line terse response saying the item I was looking to rent is no longer available. So with trepidation, I replied asking for information on a couple other items listed on the website. Several days have gone by with no response. Also, my friend called to ask about pricing, not realizing I had already tried to contact them, and she never got a response. Laughably, we got a promo fax from them today at the office. Why bother advertising (and seriously - a fax promo?) if you're not going to bother responding to inquiries from people who clearly want to use your services?

We had my son's 5th birthday here and he loved it. It is an indoor playground with a separate (but…read morefully viewable from the playground so kids/parents can keep an eye on each other) kitchen/eating area. My son invited 12 friends and they had a blast tearing around the play area. The kitchen area was already set up when we got there with brown craft paper and crayons on the long tables as well as paper towels, plates and a ready-to-go coffee maker! They had even put up some streamers and balloons. Joanne, the owner, was very nice and prompt in her communication. I put down a deposit before the party and she encouraged me to come 15 minutes early to decorate, so that wouldn't eat into the party time. She also told me I could spend 15 extra minutes after our allotted time (12-2) to clean up, again so it wouldn't eat into the party time, and on the day we arrived the gentleman who let us in told us we were the only party booked for the day and not to worry about being out right on time. Very nice! The place was immaculate and had two washrooms which is good when you have lots of kids who are drinking lots of juice boxes! We got the basic package, which was $199 for two hours rental of the space. I would definitely recommend this place to friends who are looking to have parties for their kids. My son and his friends had a blast and a lot pf parents commented to me on what a great place it was. We had a great experience!
