By not performing the background check that was authorized by the tenant, I incurred thousands of dollars in damages and legal fees from a tenant that had several family violence arrests and recent evictions on their record, as well as no longer being employed. None of this was disclosed on their application. Beware signing any rental listing agreement with Remax DFW that doesn't explicitly require the realtor to perform a tenant background check as described in the rent application also provided by Remax DFW and realtors. Remax DFW Mark Wolfe president responded that performing any verification of information on the rental application is a courtesy, but not required unless specifically stated in the listing agreement. Remax DFW president Mark Wolfe states that their agents merely list the properties but are not responsible for checking the applicants background despite being authorized to do so on their rental application.

Long story short: I would recommend Laura to anyone looking for a realtor... and I would trust any…read morevendor she recommends. My husband and I were first time home-buyers in September. We knew a few realtors and felt the need to start fresh with someone completely new to us. I put in a request on a realtor-finder site that advertised "top realtors" in the area. As you can imagine, I was bombarded. Laura quickly followed up after receiving my lead. We chatted and I instantly knew my husband and I would be in good hands. Buying a home is a BIG deal, so we were particular about who was going to be a part of that journey. Laura was patient with every question we had from day one. It was over Labor Day weekend, so there was a break in the timeline. Within a couple weeks we decided to officially start looking for our first home (in person instead of on Zillow). Within a day, Laura set up 4 houses for us to look at one evening (saving our Zillow-favorite for last). She came with years of experience, expertise, and feedback. She helped us with pros/cons of each house while making sure we were honest in our opinions about each one. She gave us the comfort level to say "yay or nay" about everything that was important to us. We instantly fell in love with the last house and knew we had found our forever home. With Laura's help (and a team of lenders/closers she highly recommended) we closed on our dream home 23 DAYS after seeing it in person that first night! While we weren't her quickest close, hopefully we came close! We heard horror stories about buying a home but our process was smooth and quick. While we may have just gotten lucky, Laura played a vital part in the entire process from making the initial offer to being there with us on closing day. If there was a problem, I knew Laura was going to get it handled. She has YOUR best interest in mind and has a true passion for what she does, which beats someone looking to just make a buck.
