Good selection of locally grown produce. Hit the jackpot on lemon cucumbers! Don't forget to take a pic in the giant chair when you're there.

So many pumpkin varieties to choose from

While visiting from out of town, our local friend took us to Julia's to see their pumpkins. They had a large variety of gourds and pumpkins, big and small. You couldn't pick them from a patch but it was fun to see white, grey, pink and orange pumpkins. They also had locally grown fruit that looked delicious. They accept cash, debit and credit cards. If I wasn't flying back to KC I would have bought a pumpkin.

All the…read morebeautiful, vibrant splashes of reds, oranges, yellows, and greens make you feel like you're walking through a rainbow. I've visited the market about 3-4 times over the past few years, and always see varieties of fruits and veggies I can't find in Sacramento. The fruit is a bit pricey (i.e. $5 for basket of blackberries), so I did not get any this trip. I always stop by Guzzetti's for amazing Indian food. I usually get the samosas but this trip I got the garden bread and eggplant bread, with the fire roasted eggplant dip. My husband was upset that I didn't buy double everything lol. On my next trip I'll have to stock up, as there's no place in the Sac valley that I am aware of, that makes dips and breads in such amazing combinations. Vegan and vegetarian options available. I got dinner Tamales Jalisco (tamales, rice, beans) which was delicious. There's also a truck that sells fresh lemonade, kettle corn and snow cones. Beautiful flowers for sale, and booths of other local, non-food businesses are there also.

I would much rather give my business to independent farmers than a big food chain. I like to see the faces of those who work hard to provide me with food so I can thank them personally :) Not to mention most prices are far better than at the store!
