I try to make it at least two times a week and walk in the pool for about 30 to 45 minutes. Then I go into the hot tub and then go home and take my shower. We are very happy with our new pool installed by Mike and the hardworking crew at Pools and More…read more We reached out to them in the late winter or early spring so that we could get an early install. Mike was very helpful and patient while we decided what options we wanted (pool size, liner style, etc.). At the same time we got quotes from two other pool installers. The experience and price was best at Pools and More. When it came time to install the pool the crew worked hard and fast. We had one day of site prep and one day of install. That 2nd day the team was done by the early evening, and then there was a water truck waiting in the road ready to fill it up. Mike then had the pool inspected the next day and we were ready to swim! I've had a few questions since then about balancing chemicals and operating the pump/filter/etc. Mike has been very responsive and helpful. Overall we would recommend them very highly! Note: We ended up choosing a 27 foot round above ground pool with the upgraded thicker liner, a salt water generator, and an electric heat pump heater (You need a heater, the pool is 88 degrees by 10am every morning. Don't forget the heater!).

A few notes on service and professionalism: While backing out of our driveway (odd, long, awkward to do) the service men hit (and destoryed) a neighbors mailbox post. We witnessed this from inside our home and watched as the serivce man got out, checked the damage and left. Aghast we planned to inform our neighbor about what happened. Before we ever had a chance to do so, the service man returned with a brand new mailbox post and installed it, later leaving a note of explanation in the mail box. Still later. My partner and I go to start up pool filter they told us was ready to go. It did nothing. Confused and afraid we would damange something (we are in ground pool owner virgins) we called the company at 7pm that night and left a message. Within a half an hour, the owner called us back and came out himself (that same night) to inspect. Turns out the staff had forgotten a few steps. Owner apologized, fixed us up and more. Partner and I were pleasantly surprised as the service.

Many people were told by the lifeguards where were rules on what was acceptable in the pool, which has yet to be found on the website. There are bathrooms, changing areas, showers, and a free splash pad outside the pool area. As a Middletown resident, I'm always looking for fun, family-friendly activities to enjoy with my…read morechildren. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this pool to families with kids. The splash pad is great, and the pool itself is beautiful, but the environment doesn't feel welcoming to children. There are so many restrictions--no running, no splashing, no touching, no diving, no jumping--that it feels like kids aren't allowed to simply enjoy being in the water. Expecting children not to splash while swimming is unrealistic and takes away from the experience. What made our visit even more disappointing was the attitude of some of the staff. The female lifeguards were unpleasant and came across as rude throughout our visit, while the male lifeguards were polite and respectful. My 14-year-old daughter even felt uncomfortable because one of the female lifeguards repeatedly gave her dirty looks, despite her not causing any problems. Families should be able to enjoy a public pool without feeling like they're constantly being watched or made uncomfortable. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works on creating a more welcoming atmosphere for children and families.
