This review is long overdue. About me: single dude, late 30s, totally straight. I just bought my…read morefirst condo and did not want to look like a 21 year old bum with IKEA furnishings. Enter Shanna Little -- she's so fun to work with and TOGETHER we came up with a design plan. It is unbelievable how many compliments I get on my space. I asked her a ton of question, we bounced ideas back and forth, she asked questions about my color palette, I told her about my minimal lifestyle, we collaborated, and like any good personal trainer, I mean, interior designer will do...Shanna imposed her skillful eye on me when I felt uncertain about my barstool colors. Ladies - hire this women now! Fellas - work together with Shanna and pimp your place out!

One year ago, almost to the day, I moved from Atlanta, GA to Los Angeles with one massive couch, 65…read moreboxes and a smile on my face. I was starting a brand new life in LA with an awesome (but incredibly busy) new job and a new apartment 6 blocks from the beach in Santa Monica. That smile quickly turned into pitiful daily tears when reality set in that I was going to have to start over with decorating an entire apartment from top to bottom while learning a new city and new job. Lots of people love home decorating...They love the shopping, the searching for deals, the looking up of things on Pinterest....well NOT ME!! Decorating genuinely PAINS me in a way that is probably unusual and unnatural for a woman but this is where I am SO lucky and thankful to know Shanna. She has saved the day for me and has stopped the shedding of tears with her genius creativity and patience. To set the scene appropriately, this was not some beautiful new apartment but rather an apartment from 1971, complete with popcorn ceilings, brown plush carpet, a pepto pink front door and a green AstroTurf walkway. Shanna immediately saw the potential in this little Santa Monica gem and encouraged me to get it and she would help me make it fabulous. Shanna worked with me for MONTHS on every single room and consulted with me on just about every single thing that I have purchased from big furniture to rugs to pillow covers to shower curtains, to dining curtains, to wall décor, even to plants that would work in my space due to my lack of natural light in some rooms. I found myself sending Shanna excessive photos options at all hours of the day before I would make a purchase and she always helped me figure out exactly what I needed with an eye that I sincerely trust. Besides the decorating, Shanna is simply a jack of all trades when it comes to pulling your home life together. She is resourceful and most of all, knows the who's, what's and where's when it comes to getting things done around the home. Also, I know her to be a master of gallery walls. Under her advice, I started collecting things that I loved and she has helped me create a really fun wall that everyone who comes over loves and compliments! Before I moved to LA, I lived in a very "sterile" and modern loft and I never knew I was capable of loving something as colorful and cozy as my place has become, thanks to Shanna and Little Simplicity! THANK YOU SHANNA!!

From start to finish, the team was super responsive, easy to communicate with, and really paid attention to all the little details. You can tell they put a lot of thought into every decision, because everything feels intentional and cohesive. I'm honestly so happy with how it all came together. Highly recommend if you're looking for a team that really listens and delivers.

We have had multiple construction and renovation projects done in California, Florida, and New…read moreYork, and execution of this project by the designer was highly unprofessional. The principal quoted us, in writing and in advance, for a local reconstruction/remodeling project, and her actual charges over 10 months more than tripled that written estimate, without significant change in the scope of the remodeling. The goal was always to complete the design in a budget conscious manner, and she had acknowledged that from the beginning. We had discussed through emails, over the phone, and in person my problem with her utilizing multiple layers of personnel duplication (especially lower and mid-level designers, and herself as principal), which drove up and duplicated costs for the same aspect of design, as well as unrequested multiple drawings rather than discussion of layout with the client before performing duplicative and layered services. She spoke of collaboratively working with the architect and the GC to make efficient use of the design dollar. That clearly did not occur. Her subsequent explanation was the "change of scope", though in reality the only change of scope was addition of general backyard layout designs. Another explanation was that the architect was semi-retired and she took on some aspects of the architectural work, without being a licensed architect herself. Additionally there have subsequently been multiple faulty and inaccurate plan issues from her work, which required multiple revisions, construction plan changes, and costly remedies and project delay. While I merely asked her to discount her final $6000+ invoice billed just before we terminated her service, she spoke of us not having "integrity" to pay her inflated and padded bills which more than tripled her initial written estimate. The project was not even close to being completed, despite her tripled "design" charges. My mistake was to trust AboutSpace to have the integrity of performing their job professionally and without racking up billable hours for her own and not her client's benefits. I more than understand her practice pattern, however late. She intentionally overbilled and ignored my explicit instructions (verbally, by email, and in person) not to duplicate work and over-design repeatedly. Her flawed work and faulty design have cost us tens if not hundreds of thousands more than the budget on the construction end. We are reporting her to the BBB, local chambers of commerce, and any government agencies willing to look into her unprofessional conduct and incompetence in this transaction to protect other consumers.

Now that we just bought a home with a total remodel needed Tina will and has been there every step of the way to guide me. No matter how BIG or small the project, she will be there. She is punctual which Is a must with me. She doesn't come up with one idea and expect you to take it. She will give you a few options and go back to the drawing board until it's just what you want. I've found some designers get offended if you don't do what they want. Tina is just the opposite. She wants you to love it and feel confident in what you're doing. She is a mother of three and proof that an organized home is am organized woman in this crazy busy world. The search for a designer/professional organizer stops here!!! Thank you Tina.

Good understanding of Feng Shui (for Asian clients). Excellent communication & very accommodating. Back story: We were looking to sell our 2011 newly built house in the San Gabriel Valley. The house had been on the market for about 3 months but had not sold. We decided to hire a Edward to help us stage our house in hopes that it would sell quickly. (House: 2 story, 3 bedroom, 1 office/ guest room, 3.5 bathroom) Communication: Excellent! Predominately through text, email, and phone. Edward was quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had. Design: Nice, clean, and modern in design. He personally came out to the house to get a look at the space himself. Edward worked with Asian clients before, so he had good understanding of Feng Shui and what Asian clients like. This was beneficial since most of our clientele are Asian (considering the area). He home staged 3 sitting areas, the guest room, 2 dining areas, and 2 bathrooms. Our house is somewhat awkwardly structured but Edward made good use of the space. His package also included professional photos that we could use to market our house. Everyone who saw our house was very impressed! They loved the design and asked for Edwards business card for the future. Time frame: Initial home staging and design approx 4 days. After our house was sold the buyers requested to move in ASAP. Edward was also able to accommodate for that, scheduling a pick up and moving everything out within 3 days. Price: Fair. Based on # of months, # of rooms, and the amount of furniture needed. We opt to home stage for 1 month but had to extend. The longer you home stage the cheaper the overall cost. Edward: Very friendly and accommodating. Great to work with!
