My favorite is the Roast Pumpkin that comes with figs and a little (really little) bit of bacon.

Weddings and receptions anywhere in the world involve tons of decision-making and a lot of fuss -…read morethings which bride and groom should not be burdened with. To help relieve couples of headache and stress, caterers and event planners created wedding packages which include amenities and styling, not just food. Clearly, this is now a flourishing business. Attending a wedding expo gave me the opportunity to listen to the sales pitch of various caterers. After a day of talking to a number of them, I was able to limit my options to a few which have value features that come at a reasonable price. One such caterer is M Catering and Fine Foods (under Michelin Cuisine and Fine Foods, Inc). In fairness, I initially thought that it belongs to the unreasonably lavish high-end bracket favored by celebrities and socialites. As a matter of fact, one of the first promo cards they handed me was a picture of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera. Proudly, they claimed to be the caterer to the couple's so-called Royal Wedding. Subsequently, however, I discovered that in terms of value for money deals, M Catering compared favorably with the competitors. It promised amenities and decent theme styling with the absence of a multitude of additional charges that makes calculation more complex than necessary. They had just a few extra charges and they instantly showed me how to do the computation. As far as the menu is concerned, M Catering offers a wide variety of international dishes even for their lowest priced package. This offers relief from the usual run of reception menus of which most everyone is tired by now. Lastly, a word of advice to the wise bride and groom: In looking for a caterer do not simply compare the standard quoted prices but take into account the value of the product and the amenities and styling that come with the package. Most importantly, beware of rules and additional charges that the caterer may have inserted among the fine print.

Summary Paid the…read moreagreed upon price, then she demanded more money! Then responded to my attempt to help her with an insulting email. Unprofessional and Unethical Management I was looking for a diet catering service to handle my diabetes and for weight loss in May. There are so many these days so I compiled a list and called each business with questions and to get a feel of them. After a positive phone conversation with the owner of this company, Elle, I initiated an order for a week. She tried to push me to do 2 weeks but I wasn't sure if I would like her food or not, so I stuck to 1 week and she didn't give me any problems. Through email, she quoted me a price and I paid via Paypal. Her support of Paypal was one of the selling points for me to use her company. After I paid the agreed upon price, she emailed me to demand more money! Let me say that again because its so unbelievable: she quoted me a price and I paid it, in full, then she emailed me again to demand more money! It seems she was trying to charge me the Paypal fee. So I emailed her back and kindly tried to help her by explaining how Paypal worked, that by Paypal's TOS she should register for a business account and handle the fees that way or include it in her price quote. She replied to me with a very "huffy" and insulting email where she insisted she knew what she was doing. At this point, I realized this is not a person I want to be doing business with, so I told her she had not made any food for me yet so she could just refund the money to my Paypal account. She replied that she would send a check. A check! She did not know how to refund the money in Paypal. Ironically, I could have taught her but clearly she was unreceptive to any feedback or even help. Overall I cannot speak to her food, but I can speak to her business and attitude. To both of those things I would say, given that there are so many of these companies today (I have been happily using another company now and dropped 10 lbs), look elsewhere. NOT RECOMENDED!

At that time, their branch along Kalayaan Avenue was still open and parking was more often than not difficult and going there in a big group was more or less hard to sit down. Even when I was already working, I would order some tapa for delivery plus a saba con hielo and I was set for the rest of my day. I transferred from office to office and had some tapa delivered to me at least once or twice a month. My favorite is the Tapa Queen. It has a little spice but add the vinegar and it's perfect. I always make sure that each spoon would have rice, tapa dipped in vinegar, atchara (pickled papaya strips) and some egg. Sometimes I would even mix the egg with the rice to make life easier. Seriously, I need to head to a Rufo's branch soon. Or maybe have some delivered now. It should be perfect even for dinner.

When we found the place, it had a big "24/7 ALWAYS OPEN" sign on the window. But surprise... it was closed! We asked someone nearby and she said it opens 11am. We mentioned about the 24/7 sign and she said it depends on the day :( I have no comment on the food because, unfortunately, we weren't able to try it before we left. Please... don't advertise it as open 24/7 if that's not the case because this false advertisement wasted our time.

Heartbroken and hungry, we kept walking around the area until suddenly, we find ourselves at Soler Street and this yellow sign was staring back at us: GREEN. PLANET. VEGETARIAN. Thank you, universe! I've tried a few vegetarian places in Binondo, but this relatively newish addition to Chinatown takes the whole cake! Taiwanese-owned Green Planet Vegetarian serves a variety of tasty vegetarian and vegan food at super 'sulit' prices. Much like a super clean, glorified 'turo-turo', you can get a rice meal with 3 viands for only Php 100, and with complimentary hot tea, too! Try their veggie sisig (creamy and dairy-free!) and their crowd-pleaser, fried miteng (gluten), which has a beautiful, chewy texture and savory flavor--amazing when dipped in vinegar. Another favorite of mine is their radish cake, a slice for only Php 15! Being sold here as well are vegetarian and vegan food items such as Magic Meat (dehydrated TVP made locally), canned barbecue sauce, and this Taiwanese granulated mushroom seasoning (reminiscent of the local Magic Sarap seasoning--look for the package with that very strange smiling mushroom). I've also heard from their staff that they're planning to open a Makati branch!
