Otherwise service was really quick and the person working there was nice. He made my order in less than 5 minutes since it was a pretty slow time in the evening. Sometimes you just need a smoothie when you are walking around Manhattan, you know? I was roaming around Manhattan the other day and in need of a quick pick me up. This little shop tucked away offers a bunch of different juices and smoothies and pretty much everything else you would expect from a juice shop like this. Like every other juice shop I go to I ordered the banana/chocolate/nut smoothie and it was just what I was craving. The smoothie didn't take long to come out and when it did it was delicious. I was underwhelmed with the service and at the end of the day, when going into a smoothie chain, that's about all that can be rated since the smoothie recipes are set and taste great. I walked in at 8:20pm and there were no on-going orders. There were 2 employees on shift. After ordering, they stated they ran out of pomegranate powder (which is understandable to some extent, but it should be said at the point of ordering and they should know when they run out of stock). I quickly substituted for another drink. After ordering and paying, about 2-3 minutes pass by and 1 employee is doing something in the back (presumably cleaning) and the other is cleaning the area up (but visibly not working on my order when there is clearly enough room and space to make my drink). For a $15 smoothie, I expect better service. I say something along the lines.. "I ordered a blue magic" and receive an indifferent response of "I'm cleaning." Better service would equate to.. "I will get to your drink in a moment" or some vigor in her movements to show that she was trying to prioritize my time. Clearly she was thinking about saving her own time and getting of the shift quicker when the other employee was already cleaning and could step in and help. Food is a service industry and part of what I'm paying for. I'd avoid this location if you're in a rush and who in NYC besides tourists has time to meander around waiting for staff that is not focused on you. read more

Don't know what the deal is with this location, but what a disaster. SUPER small space (why is there even a bench? It just takes up room and if you do sit, your face will be right at butt level to anyone else inside/paying???) and very poor set up. Went in yesterday while I was working an event because I needed something quick and pre-prepared and most food places in the area are sit down restaurants. Walked in to the tiny space and went right to the back (in order to look at the menu I would have had to stand basically up against the three people waiting for their orders, which seemed uncomfortable). The fridges were dark and made it hard to read labels from anything inside. Picked up a box of vegetable sushi and "pico de quinoa." When I went to pay, I asked if they had chopsticks (no), so I ended up having to eat my sushi with a spoon. Noticed that my entire package of sushi was leaking, so I asked if I could grab another. They said sure, then went and put the leaking one back (so now someone else gets sushi mess all over them? Come on). Asked for a receipt and did not get one. Had to remind them despite having just said it. Also was asked to sign a receipt and not even given a pen. All seemingly insignificant things but when it's one after the other, it really makes you wonder what they are doing there? The sushi itself was awful. It almost felt frozen and the pieces were way too big and awkwardly shaped to eat. The taste itself was not something I enjoyed at all. But please Juice Press people in charge: i think y'all need to treat employees better or pay them better or something: because your employees are definitely not a representation of how quality your food is and I wish that you treat people who work for your company the same way you treat your ingredients and your products: you're making such quality items but clearly something is missing in your human-to-human exchanges. Walking into the store, it wreaked of bleach. Counter-person was on their cell phone. A lot of missing items from the fridge (I came in for the raw ravioli -- there were only a couple of items in the fridge -- that's wonderful if y'all sold out! there was a really depleted and "please don't come here" energy and i couldn't wait to get out.) Maybe it's a matter of making fewer things and treating people better so that the people you hire can treat your customers better -- I would hate for people to turn away from Juice Press because of customer service when your product is so clearly the best in the game: juice generation and pressed juicery are nowhere close to the incredible medicine and nourishment you offer! I love vegan smoothies with nut butters so I got the Heaven on Earth. Even though it was below forty degrees outside when I went, I had to have one. And it was worth it. It was a delicious almond butter banana base and had small pieces of dates mixed in. The man who made my smoothie was nice and made sure to tell me that he was using raw dates, which would change the texture, because they ran out of date purée. Yes, it's bad they didn't take good inventory but at least they told me prior to making it and had a solution. The store itself is extremely tiny. There is little room to look at the ready-made refrigerator items and you actually have to almost go behind the counter to see some of them. So don't go here expecting to peruse their options or to enjoy your purchase on a stool for a few minutes before bouncing. read more

This juice press is my least favorite one in the city yet I continuously go as its the closest one to my office. How are juice presses different? Well just like any other food establishment the service is important. The service at this location is pretty poor; staff isn't the nicest and the people making the juices often rush my order as the consistency is off with my shake (usually get the clean green protein). I love juice press and some of the other locations seem to be slightly better but they are consistently very rude and unhelpful at this location. I went in to inquire about the soup of the day and the woman says rudely, "look at the sign." They are always short tempered and unwilling to assist. I spend a lot of money here and it is unfortunate that the service does not match the high prices. Please work with your staff about how to provide proper customer service. I am a very regular customer of Juice Press (think, I visit AT LEAST once a day) but I would give this location 0 star if I could. In fact, I purposefully try to avoid this particular store, even that means I have to walk 10 more minutes to their other location in Soho. I live nearby and dropped by this store on my Saturday morning jog twice. Both times the store attendants threw me attitude, as below: 1st time: Me: "Good morning, I have the JPRun Club!" The store attendant *grasp my phone, stare at my picture, and pout his lips*: "Ha, interesting, interesting, you're not even sweating, you are clearly a liar". And it was not a joke! He said it in the meanest attitude possible. It was 35 degree out and he questioned why I didn't sweat? And did he just call me name? Excuse me, what? 2nd time, more than a month later: Me: "Hello, I attend the jprunclub, can I get a juice?" This time THREE of them passed my phone around (?!), stared at a picture I posted, and started commenting on it and talking to each other as if I had disappeared: "Yeah these people are getting ridiculous. They're insane" Really? Did they just call me insane and ridiculous? And that is after I have paid thousands of dollars on Juice Press products since moving to the city a year ago. Needless to say, I will never ever visit this location again. If they don't get rid of those 3 people working 10am-12pm on Saturday, that is. When I returned from a hospital stay, still on bed rest, I ordered food and juices from Juice Press. My order arrived in forty minutes, however, there was only one of the five items ordered. I tried to call only to receive a recording saying they don't take phone calls but are VERY responsive to emails to customer service. I sent 4 emails over a period of hours and heard nothing. Oh thank goodness for Juice Press! I was feeling totally crap and the flippin' "Volcano" was a godsend. I was staying just down the block and stopped in at least twice a day; everything I tried was excellent. The prices aren't that much different than other cities, and it was really great to have this lovely little oasis of niceness to pop into whenever I was hungry or needed a little pick-me-up. Since Jamba Juice has decided to kill me ultimate smoothie lover, the Matcha one, I've been looking for a rebound... I was wandering and wandering and just wandered right in here. They had a variety of samples on the counter which was super fun to try but what I really wanted was something frosty on a 40 degree day...Cold brew? dates? almond butter? You got me. I went with the Harvey Wallbanger With the Works, which is cold brew with dates, frozen banana, almond milk, almond butter, cinnamon, and vanilla. All in all it was pretty good- clean tasting, thick, just how I like my smoothies. One odd thing however was this kind of pasty feeling it left in my mouth. Probably from the almond butter and banana, but it wasn't exactly pleasant. The service was kind of iffy that day but I wasn't in a rush so it didn't matter. Yes, everything is raw, so yes, it's ridiculously expensive. But just think about it as treating yourself to a frozen treat that's probably healthier than ice cream, but just a delicious. :) Would probably be back to try other smoothies, budget permitting. They also carry pressed juices and a variety of raw goodies. Equally as expensive, but for those of you who are into that, go nuts. read more

This was my first time trying the drink and I loved the zing it had. it was a little bit sweet yet had a tad of an earthy taste. I'd buy it again when I'm willing to splurge but $10 for a juice seems a little pricey to me even though it's cold pressed and goes through HPP (high pressure processing). Will definitely be coming back here to 'treat' myself and try different smoothies. They always have daily samples of juices and food. For food items I would recommend the raw oatmeal and spicy kale chips. I'm not much of a juice person so I can't recommend any. Where do I even begin? With the Doctor Green Juice? The free postcards and bookmarks that just about make you pee your pants? The avocado toast? I love this location. Come in if you wanna get in and get down with some juice, but not hang around. There's a little bench inside to sit while you wait for a fresh juice, but not much else! I was just in Soho for a week for work, and stopped in here every day. In Santa Monica, you either go to the juice place that has the "tasty" juice but it's not organic, or you go to the juice place that tastes like you just licked your front lawn but it's fresh and organic and sooo good for you. Juice Press gives you the best of both worlds - some good freakin' juice that tastes like you just licked your grass that's fertilized with organic apples and angel dust (vegan angels, of course!). The Doctor Green Juice gave me my greens without the bitter taste that makes you cringe. I came in for a fresh Rehab Shot (lemon and ginger) a couple of times - once after I first arrived to help me battle whatever germs were on that disgusting commercial airline, and to help relieve my post-travel bloat. The other time after a night out of way too much sake. The vegan ravioli was INSANE. I actually ended up spilling the tail end of it all over the floor in my room at the Mercer...and didn't mind, because the smell is that great! I wasn't as excited about the avocado toast as everyone else seems to be, but I'm still in love with it. I'm a huge fan of the juice/raw-food movement, and Juice Press is the perfect place to realize all your raw-epicurean dreams. My sister and I visited the same store on Prince ST three times over a period of three days, buying a total of 10 juices, kale chips and walk about bars (which were to die for: raw cacao, cherries, walnuts, agave and pommegranate powder; super filling!). The favorite juice for both of us was Spicy Citrus, which you could feel burning in your esophagus long after you had finished the bottle (cayenne pepper and ginger). A close second place goes to Dr. Green Juice, Tomato Gazpacho (really filling, this could easily be 1 1/2 meals), Lait de Coconut, and Perfect Pear. The personnel were really helpful with reccomending juices and snacks based off of our preferences and really took their time in explaining their products. A little on the pricy side (not for NYC, most things raw are expensive there) for an outside visitor, but worth every penny (juices were circa 10-13 dollars). (My score 8/10) read more

Every now and then I go their 83rd Street and Third Avenue outlet to purchase some of their soups. However, I am concerned that quite frequently their employees do not conform to basic norms of safe food handling. On several occasions I have noticed they do not wear gloves when pouring soup from the soup pot into the cup. Yesterday I witnessed an employee lick his fingers while he was pouring soup into my cup. I love the juices here, especially the Meal and the OMG, which is made with fresh coconut water. They also have a Chia drink, which, surprisingly, is only $3! This is going to sound crazy, but I recently visited NYC for three days and while there, I decided to do a juice cleanse. My thought was that uice press was so accessible that how could I not do a juice cleanse. I know! I know! NYC is a ridiculous place to do a juice cleanse when there are so many great places to dine and I did dine, but I cleansed too. Came back to Seattle feeling AMAZING! My skin looked clean and clear (I also had an amazing facial while in NYC) but the clean greens helped and I felt better than if I had dined out for every meal. Right? read more
