The first time their reply came so late so we called another day. The owner Ralf keeps referring to his wife but on a simple request as to if they could provide the transfer replied the following to my niece accusing her of being a scam. What kind of thinking do these people have? Minds in the gutter is all we could think. We thought we'd arm any good faith customers looking for a luxury transportation on the island that this is their level of thinking and way of treating (potential) customers.

I would give this company zero stars if I could. Absolute horrible experience. Initially I…read morerequested a rear facing car seat for my 14 month old and the day of - when we were flying to Nantucket, they told us they only have forward facing. I was quoted $120 for the car transport from the airport to hotel which is a 15 minute ride. I agreed to pay this which is way more than anyone would pay because I had an child and needed the car seat. When I got the final charge, they charged be over $200. They claim they charge per hour and build in a 30 minute wait time for driver at airport and 15 minute return time to the lot. If this is the case, show this in the pricing instead of making it fine print in your contract. When I voiced my concerns about this, they said sorry for the confusion and sent me a breakdown of the timing- UNACEPPTABLE!

Once you gain an understanding of the schedules and stop routines, the experience is straightforward and comfortable. It makes a difference to have someone else doing the driving and is often more socially rewarding, at least for me, to interact with those on the bus or others you may run into around town due to the bus routine. However, the VTA really only works best if you are heading to main roads or town centers. Up-Island service is inconsistent especially in the off season. This is OK for me at present, but I can understand how it could cause problems for others. Another current issue is a shortage of qualified drivers. The summer season schedule, with greater frequency on some runs, abruptly ended a few weeks sooner than planned this year because of this. Conversely and confusingly, one or two routes that usually have low ridership were dropped for the summer and then put back onto the year round schedule. Watch out for the differences in cash fares during the year, if going for single rides. The purchase of a pass can quickly pay itself off for shorter or longer term increments and is worth researching.

It was a newer car with about 6k mileage and was clean inside and out. It was handled quickly over the phone and they even changed it the lower weekly rate without my even asking. The agent was a very pleasant guy. After I dropped off the car I realized I had forgotten something at the place I had been staying. The agent had someone drive me round trip back to get my item at no extra charge. I of course tipped the driver. I would definitely rent from Windmill again.
