I usually chicken out when work has to be done on my mouth. I had successfully avoided having my…read morewisdom teeth removed until I woke up one morning with an awful, throbbing pain in my mouth, causing my whole face to droop to one side. Tooth #32 was trying to nestle in a a crowded mouth, which meant I couldn't put it off any longer. I feel like I lucked out when I found Dr. Edward J. Reynolds because I hadn't done any research on oral surgeons - I didn't know who came highly recommended, who was qualified or anything like that. In fact, I picked him for the sole reasons that his practice is local, and he accepts my insurance. Immediately I get a good vibe from the office - it's small but very warm, and it doesn't have any of that antiseptic smell that can be so off-putting at a dentist's office. The nurses and receptionists are friendly and reassuring and killed off some of the dread I bottled up about the extraction. Dr. Reynolds is kind, but he doesn't waste any time. He works efficiently - checks out what the problem is and then tells you in detail what your options are. I appreciated that he was mindful that money is always a factor, especially in these times, and although his recommendation was for all four to be pulled, he was considerate to the fact that that option isn't feasible for every patient. He was informative and detailed, answering all my questions and concerns about the procedure. With 35+ years of experience, plus a staff who has stuck by him for the majority of those years, I trusted that they'd take the best care of me, and they did exactly that. My procedure went without any incident and although I was nervous, the drugs they give you are so powerful that having your teeth ripped out of your mouth seems like an a-okay thing. And I was lucky to have a quick recovery with barely any pain in my mouth afterwards. If you're able to utilize the services of Dr. Reynolds, I highly recommend him. He's knowledgeable, highly qualified, and now one of the few people I trust to do anything scary inside my mouth.
