    Buyer Beware!! This…read moreoffice engages in deceptive business practices. I presented my insurance both when making my initial appointment & when I first visited. I was told my insurance was in network & was presented a bill before treatment that reinforced the assumption I was in network. I had no problem with the initial amount billed (standard 80/20 split for fillings). Received great service & actually referred a friend here. Fast forward 3 weeks later & I receive a bill in the mail for $400+. Apparently, only one plan under my provider is in network & other plans are not. The office told me it was my responsibility to determine this, not theirs to inform me I was out of network. In spite of presenting a treatment plan & initial bill that reinforced that their office was in network. Have never experienced such deceptive business practices by a dentist! When I called them to clarify how I could have a bill given I already paid my co-pay, I was told that I agreed to pay whatever portion my insurance company didn't cover, it was my responsibility to confirm I was in network (despite presenting a treatment plan that stated I was), and to pay up. The only reason I'm not filing a formal complaint with the better business bureau is because the treatment was competent. For whatever it's worth, my friend had an identical experience here - his portion due went from $80 to $480, via a surprise bill in the mail, without any advance notice.

    I accompanied my daughter to her final crown appointment with Dr. Aurora Dibner. What should have…read morebeen a positive and exciting milestone instead turned into a deeply upsetting and disheartening experience -- both for her and for me as a parent. My daughter arrived genuinely hopeful and prepared to complete the process. She was eager to be involved in decisions that directly impact her smile, appearance, and long-term confidence. Unfortunately, from the moment Dr. Dibner entered the room, her demeanor was noticeably cold and unwelcoming. When my daughter began asking thoughtful questions and attempted to participate in selecting the shade for her crown -- a perfectly reasonable expectation for something so personal -- she was quickly dismissed. In fact, rather than acknowledging or considering my daughter's input, Dr. Dibner directed her attention to her assistant, asking her what shade she thought matched best. It was disheartening to see the opinion of an assistant prioritized over the patient's -- especially when it is my daughter who will live with the result of this permanent dental work. Her opinion should have been central to the conversation. Worse still, Dr. Dibner responded to my daughter's attempts to advocate for herself with dismissive and condescending remarks. Instead of encouraging my daughter's involvement, Dr. Dibner repeatedly told us -- on more than one occasion -- that we might want to consider going to another dentist. She referenced how good the doctors are in New York City and emphasized that she prefers to do things her way. The message was clear: if the patient wants to have a say, this may not be the place for them. This attitude was not only unprofessional, but completely contrary to the principles of patient-centered care. The situation escalated to the point where my daughter was left in tears -- humiliated and deeply hurt in what should have been a safe, supportive, and respectful environment. As a parent, it was painful to witness and completely unacceptable in a healthcare setting. To be candid, the tone, attitude, and overall treatment we received gave the clear impression that we were not being afforded the same respect or consideration as other patients. While I cannot say with certainty what the basis for that disparity was, it felt discriminatory in nature. No one should feel marginalized, dismissed, or unwelcome when seeking medical care -- especially a young woman trying to engage in her own health and well-being. This experience has left a lasting negative impact on my daughter. We came in expecting empathy, professionalism, and basic human decency. Unfortunately, what we encountered was the opposite. I do not typically submit complaints or write reviews, which should reflect how shocked and disappointed we were by the conduct we experienced. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that no other patient has to go through what we did.
