Bus driver was gruff and treated us like children on a school field trip. Yelling/honking and mumbling complaints like your grouchy great uncle taking you someplace. Not pleasant and felt low class. We had two exursions with this vendor and I would advise you to use a smaller tour operator. They are not much more or in many cases less money.

We drove to the dock ourselves, and what an incredible trip (kind of long from Te Anau), but so much beauty, allow time for roadside photo stops. The cruise itself was superb, photos can't do it justice. We stayed on the top deck the entire time, gaping at one incredible scene after another. Bottlenose dolphins played alongside the boat, and we saw sea otters as well. Magnificent waterfalls and informative commentary. Couldn't have been more pleased! When walking back to the car, I forgot to zip up my backpack all the way and my wallet fell out. The couple who found it in the parking lot contacted me and couldn't have been nicer about trying to get it back to me. Luckily, they spoke to the agents at the tour counter who looked me up and saw that we booked the Gloworms tour the next day, and bussed my wallet to the Te Anau location where it was waiting for me the next morning! So very kind and special, thank you to all! Oh, the Gloworms tour was amazing as well, you can't get that kind of experience anywhere else. Time on the boat to the cave was awesome! Not for the claustrophobic, I'd say, and be sure to wear good footwear and rain gear. Just wish I could have taken some photos inside the cave!

Go Orange - Go Orange stand on the waterfront

The long 5 hour bus ride was broken up into several stops either for bathroom breaks, shopping and the best sightseeing and photo opportunities of New Zealands beautiful landscape. Even in the rain on some stops the scenery was gorgeous and worth getting a little wet. I would recommend this tour for your travel needs in Queenstown. Trust me you will have hundreds to choose from with 4 to 5 tour companies on every street, lol.

It's dark, you struggle to find your way to the meeting point for pickup, scared that if you aren't there in time, your tour bus will leave you and you'd have lost your money invested in today. You wait in the cold, checking the time, looking out for others who look just as tired and lost as you do. Some people show up. Suddenly a massive tour bus rolls up to your bus stop. Out pops a average height gentleman, he seems as though he's already full of energy, maybe he's already had his coffee. He is wearing a cowboy hat. We've just met, Jason, the Cowboy who will take us from Queenstown and into Fjordland National Park to Milford Sound. After taking a seat on the bus, grabbing a warm orange blanket from the above compartment, we make a few more stops along our way to pickup others. Jason, or the Cowboy has welcomed us and explains that we are now his family, he's going to look after us and take care of us, just as you do with family. I never felt so welcomed. Riding alongside the massive lake, he noted things to look out for, explained the little towns we went by, gave suggestions and was filled with local knowledge and stories. For what would be a boring 3 plus hour journey, he can take all of the credit for making this day a entertaining one.

This small company, only 3-people, is able to be flexible and deliver a bespoke, high-quality experience tailored to the needs of its clients. With our excellent guide Matthew we visited Three beautiful and unique wineries customized to our interests. We had asked him to take us to small, boutique wineries where the passions of the winemaker combine with terroir to produce something special. His recommendations did not disappoint and we tasted a wide number of varietals across the wineries in the Gibbston sub region of Otago Valley. He picked us up promptly at the promised time in a comfortable van provisioned with fruit, chocolate and water and even took care of shipping some wine back to the states for us. We were only 2 in the van but it could comfortably hold 8. He is VERY knowledgeable about wine in the region and beyond and provided us with some great information throughout the tour. Plus he's such a personable guy. We even stopped off at the charming city, arrowtown, on our way back (reminiscent of Carmel CA) for a short walking tour. Beautiful. Highly recommended

Not only is the overall tour he provides highly illuminating, but if you ask him specific questions, there is clearly great depth to his knowledge. There are several tour options. We did the Degustation Tour which includes food pairings with the wine. This is an excellent way to taste Pinot Noir, which is really meant to be enjoyed with food, and is the specialty in the Queenstown area. We also tasted Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gruner Veltliner, and Gewurztraminer. The first stop includes a wine and appetiser pairing at a winery cellar. The second stop is a full lunch with several pairings. After that, there were two more stops at wineries. You will taste about five wines at each stop, for a total of 20 wines.

On a hot day, alas, there is no air conditioning. And the beds, though large, are soft and lumpy. For cost greater than NZD 450, this is not a good deal.

The photos of the room and surrounding areas looked nice, but wow, this hotel is quite outdated. When we arrived, the front area was very nice with neat and well maintained trees and plants, and a beautiful cherry blossom. The lobby was clean and spacious. The front desk clerks were all very friendly, helpful, and courteous. Then we heard how to get to our room: up the ramp, take the elevator up, walk down the hall, then take another elevator down, and walk down another hall. It was quite the distance, and we did find it without issues, but why is it so complicated!? The room was very....brown. Old wood cabinets, wood doors, wood bed frame, old mini fridge, old bathtub, junk shower head, and worst of all, NO USB wall or table socket. I'm glad I purchased an adapter prior to coming here. Actually, there's one more, NO AC!!! There was a fan (an old one) in the closet though... I'm glad it was cooler weather when we stayed there, and tried to use the super old heater that just had on or off. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. The positive is the beautiful lake and Mountain views, the excellent location, and the awesome staff. Thank you for lending us an umbrella! Negative is the super outdated room. It was still comfortable, but it felt like I was time-warped back to the 70s. Just needed the ashtray and the built in wood console color TV. Also needing to walk up and down wasn't fun. I wouldn't mind returning. We'll see if there are better options!
