Weeks of no communication and me having to continuously call to try to get someone on the phone to give me info. I was told they are still trying to find the problem. after 3 months of very little and difficult to have communication, I was told that they couldn't figure it out and for me to come get it and just pay for the part. that was fine until I got there to get the truck. they had it sitting out back for so long that the battery (less than a year old) was dead and there were so many leaves on it I couldn't see the bed liner. The truck barely ran when i got which is 10x worse than when I gave it to them. Also, to top things off it appears that someone use the tailgate as a cutting board, because it has a ton of gouges in it. basically after 3 months of no communication I got my truck back with a dead battery, running way worse, gouges in my tailgate, and still had to pay them. if i had the choice of setting the truck on fire or let them work on it id choose the fire. the truck wouldn't be drivable either way but at least the fire would be faster

Ricky said first of all your sitting in here complaining about your car!!!!!!!!!!! I was amazed!!!!!! I said what no? The lady asked me what it's doing. Then he yelled and said 2nd if I look at your car I'm going to take off all the parts you put on and put mine on!!!!! I said why would you do that I told you it's not the breaks??? He yelled and said because too many people try to blame me for messing up their car I said that's not my fault don't take your anger out on me!!!!!!!!! I put a review on google and he responded that I never had my car fixed there before I am happy to show receipts!!!!!!!!!! He's a lier rude and money hungry beware!!!!!!!

On our second visit we had him take a look at our brakes, he said only our front brakes needed changing and only charged $149 inclusive of everything for our Prius. A BARGAIN. I would highly recommend him for anything car related. Only issue I have with this place is the Covid precautions they are taking, which is none. But I think that's somewhat to be expected in this part of town.

Fortunately for them, I'm an editor who ironically reviews businesses, but not in SC. I was here for Thanksgiving break to visit family, who do not live in West Columbia or near it. I had a flat tire. A tow service couldn't get to me within 2-1/2 hours. I was stuck in an unfamiliar place, at night, alone. This business was my closest hope. I'm willing to mess up my rim in desperation to get them to fix or replace my tire. The lady at Discount Tire of West Columbia said, 'They're too busy,' and 'we can't help you.' I told her I can wait two or three hours; I'm desperate to fix my tire. I'm alone and I am scared. Same answer. I called Mavis Tires & Brakes in West Columbia, which is farther away than Discount Tire of West Columbia. I called them, and they said we have a lot of customers waiting, but we will work you in. "Nobody should be left stranded." Here is their phone number 803-451-8473. I was out of there in 45 minutes. They were so friendly, accommodating, and compassionate. They helped me. As for Discount Tire Pros West Columbia, the pen or word is very powerful. You're a disgrace.

It required a huge tear down to take out the left engine head and send it to a machine shop to extract two cross threaded bolts. I hired a local mechanic before to do the project, but he stopped working on it after tearing apart about 80% of the parts under the hood. I collected all of the parts and hundreds of screws/bolts in bags and towed the car to Old School Automotive. I thought it would be impossible to figure out where every screw and bolt goes when putting it back together. Somehow, Keith and his team of expert mechanics were able to solve the puzzle after pouring hours and hours into organizing all the parts to put back together. It's up and running like new again, and I couldn't be more blown away. There's nothing this team can't do. They were very detailed oriented and fixed what needed to be fixed, and left alone what didn't. It's not easy to pick up a project that you didn't start yourself. They were extremely fair and transparent with their service and pricing too. Whether you have a small job, or a massive project that requires reassembling the engine, Old School Automotive can do it. A good mechanic is like a good surgeon. I won't take my cars anywhere else (and I live 100+ miles away in Greenville, SC now).

I've gotten a lot of maintenance work done here. Throttle body cleaning, tires (alignment + balance…read more+ rotation), a serpentine belt and tensioner pulley. But after my check engine light came on for EVAP codes. I started to notice their lack of communication. The EVAP codes could be multiple things like a purge valve, vacuum switching valve, charcoal canister, hoses etc. I ordered a vacuum switching valve after some research and they said it was the wrong part. It wasn't the wrong part, because I just had it installed somewhere else, and the VSV already on there wouldn't click at all. So the part I previously ordered was the right buy. But old school wanted to put a new part in that they ordered. A vent valve. I had no issue. They're professionals they know what they're doing maybe my vent valve was faulty. But when I asked how they diagnosed that it was indeed a faulty vent valve. They wouldn't tell me. Keith said "you can't really tell if it's bad". So you're replacing a part that you're not sure I need? Sheesh could at least run the smoke test. Then trying to ask for more info about the part they're ordering and putting in my car, was a hassle. I felt like a nuisance. As a customer I shouldn't feel nervous asking about my car but they sound extremely annoyed talking to me. I'm at performance express and was just told I had a massive head gasket oil leak. Old school didn't catch that. Thank god I was able to catch it. But old school is good overall. Parts come in quick. Labor prices are pretty good. Just communication is meh. Chris is awesome tho.
