She had cavities at a very young age and had to be placed under anesthesia to fill and he made sure he explained the process and we had it at the hospital because he was concerned with the size of her tonsils. Long story short his concern led to her pediatrician (who had to clear her for surgery) sending her to an ear nose and throat specialist. We had her tonsils and adenoids removed and we would have never known the issue existed if it hadn't been for Dr Hicks. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The new office is absolutely gorgeous -

It's by far the most beautiful dentist office I've seen, with a lobby that looks like a Vegas hotel lobby. In the new office, they have a gold coin to give to them where they can pick from several candy ball-like machines as a prize. My daughter literally asked when the next time she can get a cleaning because she wanted another gold coin. Brilliant! Highly recommend!

The dental office is beautiful but there is a fine line between being treated as a consumer instead…read moreof a patient. They offer private rooms at an additional $100 (optional) but only in the mornings and if you agree to a private room once- the office categorizes you as a patient who can graduate from that room but only based on the discretion of the people who are getting paid by such private room⁉They will refuse to schedule an appt with a regular room moving forward. You are stuck paying for the private room and front desk can't do anything about it. This feels unethical and not in the best interest of your patients. Every other dental office will offer you a private room due to hipaa and osha ( this is a clear violation) and not charge additional. The only difference is there is a door here and not a partition. At this office they make it so the chairs sit SO close together like in a dental college ( a dental bay is a clear osha violation) - that naturally the parent will request that private room bc all it takes is one crying child to scare the others. Either way, you do have to agree to it so it's not a secret either but again feels off and completely on purpose! This area is like the, "nicest," in the neighborhood I guess and the other offices around are pretty old, making it so that these type of businesses provide care in a different way, more like you're a number and not a person. The slide and toys are nice but not what most important here. It's too bad bc Dr.Diaz was very kind and the hygienists were lovely as well. Ultimately, I thought maybe I was not the target audience until the office manager called me back to smooth things over and never acknowledged the issue. She went out of her way to tell me why the have private rooms while still not addressing that the issue is they lock you into a room you have to pay $100 additional for and therefore cant even book a regular appt without their permission, the dr didn't bother to call me and Elaina even admitted there were no notes from Dr saying my son had to stay in private room. She kept saying you could graduate (wth?) I'm paying for this!! Delusional. This state is ranked the worst in health care, there is a reason.

Unfortunately, after only my second visit, I'm seriously considering moving my kids to a different practice. A few things that happened during this recent appointment were extremely disappointing. 1. Unprofessional Front Desk Experience Something just felt off with the office staff from the moment we arrived. The front desk person rushed me into signing forms showing what I supposedly owed without taking a moment to explain anything. When I noticed a date discrepancy and asked about it, she brushed me off, saying it was from my "last visit." This was only our second visit -- the first was in February -- so that response made no sense. It was also clear she got irritated that I was asking questions instead of just signing without understanding. Thankfully, the person sitting next to her kindly stepped in and explained things clearly, which made sense and turned out to be accurate. If the first staff member didn't know, she could've simply asked someone who did instead of acting dismissive. 2. Long Wait and Disorganized Visit Our appointment was at 3 p.m. for routine cleanings, yet we didn't leave until 4:15. It was obvious they were overbooked -- the whole office felt chaotic. There was even a line for X-rays. I brought both my sons, but they only allowed one parent back, which I understand for safety reasons. My 9-year-old was fine on his own, but my 5-year-old was nervous. The staff kept giving me mixed directions -- first, I couldn't sit in a certain chair due to "policy," then I was asked to go help my younger son calm down, then told to leave again, then asked to come back again to help him try the X-ray once more. It was frustrating and unorganized. One hygienist, in particular, was quite rude and passive-aggressive, muttering loudly, "Well, if he can't do the X-ray this visit, we'll just have to wait until next time." For a pediatric dental office that works with children, I was shocked by the lack of patience, empathy, and flexibility. That same hygienist also treated my 9-year-old and, instead of speaking to me directly, told him to let me know he'd need to come every three months for cleanings because of his braces. It's unprofessional to communicate treatment details through a child instead of the parent. 3. Disappointing Interaction with the Dentist Even though this was only my second visit, I noticed the same issue I experienced during our first -- Dr. Nanna has zero warmth or bedside manner. I initially gave her the benefit of the doubt, assuming it might've just been an off day, but this visit confirmed otherwise. For a pediatric dentist, she's surprisingly cold, impersonal, and lacks the kind of approachability kids (and parents) need. Her staff seems tense and on edge, likely because of the strict, joyless atmosphere she creates. When she finally came into the room, the only thing she said was, "So, do you have questions for me?" How could I possibly have questions when she hadn't even provided me with a report or explained anything about the exam or X-rays? It was baffling and left me feeling completely dismissed as a parent. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed and disheartened. If I'm going to spend a significant amount of money on my children's dental care, it will be somewhere that treats both kids and parents with kindness, professionalism, and respect.

We did a "knee to knee" visit, and before you ask, yes, my 14 month old has an obscene amount of teeth and our pediatrician recommends taking them around 1. There were some tears but Dr. Eaton was quick with his exam and so kind. We look forward to building a relationship with this practice for years to come. One note, they are out of network for all and we prepaid. I don't blame them one bit, but I know that's a turnoff/ hard for some people. For our insurance this just means that Dr. Eaton's office files for us and our insurance pays us directly for the rates they cover. We prepay for services and sometimes it costs a little extra for us out of pocket. Practices often do this because constantly fighting with the insurance company to get paid what they're worth could easily be a job for a full time person and small practices are often pressured to cut their rates unsustainably to stay in "good graces" with your insurance company (I'm someone who use to have to do legal work for insurance companies). This might not be how your insurance works, but I thought it might be helpful for some of you considering it. For what it's worth, I think Dr. Eaton and his team are worth every penny!

I could have chosen a family dentist for my whole family, but I knew that I did not want my kids dealing with a tech who just worked on a grumpy adult. Dr. Eaton and his staff are magic makers! Seriously! My kids LOVE LOVE LOVE going to the dentist, even on Halloween. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. They walk the kids through everything they plan to do. They ask permission from parents before doing anything like xrays or fluoride treatments. The charges are very reasonable to the point where my insurance covers it all. We have had to only preventive care, but have also have had to have cavities filled and teeth pulled (small jaws). Everyone is so caring and makes sure that the patient is comfortable and that the parent is at ease. I HIGHLY recommend this practice!

Originally, I was pleased...no long wait, got you in and out, and the new environment was very inviting. However, the last few years have just gone downhill, especially during Covid. Not enough spacing between appointments and the wait and the appointments just take too long. You would think during Covid, they would make sure to do the opposite and spread appointments out for just additional spacing in the appointment area, as well as the waiting room. I typically wait in my car because of the little spacing in the waiting room. Another issue I have is the calling system. They have a call center, so you cannot call them directly to speak to someone. A little annoying if you just left and needed to ask a quick question. Anyway, my son is a teenager with adult teeth, so it may be time to just find another dentist at this point anyway where he can get individual service.

I can't tell you how amazing that was. when I got to the appointment, everyone was extremely nice. and I know it's common, because they're working with kids, but not as genuine as this place. you can tell when someone is genuinely nice and caring. and they were ALL genuine. they have a cute arcade room which was a plus and my son loved It. it made him relax during the visit. the people always kept conversation with HIM instead of just me. I could tell it helped him from becoming nervous and anxious. they recommended pulling his severely loose front baby teeth because his adults were already down and when I expressed how much it was, a lady was very quick and reassuring in getting me prices. I pay so much in my sons medical bills alone, between co payments and medications, so she didn't make me feel weird having to ask how much the procedure would cost or that it was even a bother. can you tell I have anxiety too? lol lastly, and one of the most important interactions, the time to remove my sons baby teeth. i wish I had gotten other peoples names because I love giving credit when credit is due, but for now. Shanda and the Dr who assisted her in sealing my sons molars and removal of the top baby teeth did amazing. They continued to talk to him and encourage him as we didn't proceed with the gas and were very responsive as soon as they realized the instruments made him nervous. I can't tell you how great that felt as a parent knowing there's not much you can do to help other than verbally say "you're doing amazing baby." thank you for everyone being exactly who you are. It feels great knowing you made a good choice.

I've had everything from a root canal and crown to braces serviced with this dentist. I've had almost all of my work done here or in their network by referral. The place has gone down hill so bad. Today just happened to be my last straw. I was already on the fence about coming back because the billing was always inconsistent for simple cleanings and so forth but I'm a loyal person and I know businesses go through changes in ownership and all sorts of things so I tried to stay bc I HATE changing providers. However, I made an appointment for today, called asked about the grace period before I even left my house bc I KNEW I'd need to use it due to having to leave work early and make it in Atlanta traffic. I spoke w Jose and he said it was 15 minutes and admittedly I used the full 15 minutes... I get there frantic , so much that I made it in and the front desk stated how I'd made it just in time. I make it inexactly at 15 minutes the hygienist comes to the back and states she can only do my ex rays and exam but can't complete the cleaning. I immediately became irritated bc what's the point of the grace period if they don't allow you to actually use it ESPECIALLY with long time clients. I've been coming here for over 15 years and outside of the inconsistencies with pricing which I was already less than thrilled about they've been less than professional or accommodating. The hygienist an older woman came back and promptly told me I'd missed the grace period by a minute and proceeded to go back and fourth with me about how she couldn't honor that bc etc and tried to reschedule me. I'm NEVER coming back here after spending THOUSANDS of dollars and seeing them go through multiple dentist and hygienist at an alarming rate. I left work early rushed here to be berated by the hygienist for using THEIR grace period they put into place after confirming it. I see why their reviews are so terrible. Don't waste your time or energy coming here!!!

She was able to effectively find and treat a problem in one of my molars. My review has more to do with the office policies and the staff. So, I went for my first appointment and I was very happy, then I was referred to an endodontist and he was also very professional. I was scheduled with Gwinnett Family Dentistry (GFD) for a second appointment to finally get a crown in my molar, so they call me (GFD) and schedule my appointment, very nice lady, never mentioned any of their policies regarding changes or cancellations. On a Thursday, i receive a confirmation call from GFD and again, the nice lady never mentioned any of their policies or how long the procedure will take. So I confirm that I'm attending to my appointment, thinking that the procedure will take about an hour like in my first appointment, but what do I know??.. I'm just the patient who's never ever had a crown treatment before. So I call the day of my appointment, which was Monday, around 7:30-ish... I get Ingrid on the phone and I ask her how long is the treatment going to take? and she says "2 hours", and obviously I had no idea of the length because I was never informed. So I panic and I tell her that I can't make it because of work, I didn't know it would take 2 hours, and I have to reschedule..... I understand that I'm calling at the last minute, BUT.. Aren't they (GFD) supposed to inform you of these details before your actual appointment?? Anyways, she tells me there is a cancellation fee, and I tell her that I'm NOT cancelling, I'm rescheduling because I was not informed that the procedure would take that long. So she insists that is the same because is in the same day, less than 48 hours before my appointment. I get very upset, and I tell her that if they charge me a cancellation fee I will go to another dentists, obviously Ingrid doesn't care. She tell me that the administrator will be at their office the next day and she will call me... After a few minutes I call back and ask Ingrid how much the cancellation fee is?.... And her answer????.... " I don't know, the admin will call you tomorrow"... that never happened.... A week after, I receive a bill from them, it's only for $15, the original amount was $50 but after some credit they made I only "have" to pay $15, NOT my point... So my problem is..... Ingrid, works in that office, SHE tells me about the cancellation fee, but she doesn't know the amount.... So, how am I supposed to know about their policies if they never ever EVER mentioned them to me, the policies are not in their website and I was never informed by any of their staff, not when I scheduled my appointment and not when the nice lady called me to confirm my appointment.... But I have to know them????? Can someone please tell me what is the logic here????
