If I could give zero stars, I would. Hiring Joel Suarez as our wedding videographer has been the single most heartbreaking and frustrating experience. Out of everything for my wedding, videography was the most important thing to me.ore than flowers, décor, or anything else, because I wanted to be able to relive those memories through video, not just photos. We paid Joel $3,500 in full for our wedding back in May, and now, over four months later, we still have nothing. No videos, no updates, no accountability. Joel has repeatedly ignored my texts and calls. On the rare occasions he has responded, he has openly admitted that he "doesn't manage his business," that he "hides," and that "this is not the first time I've done this." Those are his own words. This is not just unprofessional,it is deceitful, irresponsible, and cruel. He knows how important these memories are, yet he disappears with people's money and delivers nothing on time--if at all. He has admitted that this is a pattern in how he runs his business. Joel has stolen not only our money but also the joy of reliving the most meaningful day of our lives. I cannot put into words the disappointment and devastation this has caused. I am leaving this review to warn others, even though it says "this location is permanently closed" on his yelp page. It did not say that when I first started looking up reviews just a few months ago. Which I believe means he is running and hiding from his responsibilities and from all the people that he has stolen money from. Do not trust Joel Suarez with your wedding or any important event. If you want to be ignored and lied to about your video then Joel is the person for you! I hired Joel to help me record and edit my client's wedding back ON OCTOBER 8, 2022 and he has still not gotten back to me with any work. Joel said the video will be done in 6-8 weeks and would include all the files from the wedding. The whole point of hiring Joel was to get both the video and the photos done and delivered at the same time. Yet, to this date, I have not received a single screenshot to prove that he has made any progress on the video work promised. I have done video production as well and can tell you that it does not take a year to edit a wedding video. I understand that I am not his only client, but no one deserves to be left in the dark. There is absolutely zero communication from Joel in regards to anything. He has not once reached out to me to explain why the video is extremely delayed. I have always been the one to reach out and try to get a simple explanation. Joel's only excuse is that he's going through a tough time or just plain didn't get to the video but he will not expand on that. I have offered multiple times to take the project out of his hands and finish it myself for my client BUT HE DOES NOT WANT TO DO THAT! Even though he says he has a lot going on like wtf!!! The last bit of communication I received from him was on APRIL 3, 2023, basically lying, saying that he has finished the video and is uploading it. He never sent me a link. Joel can simply fix his problems if he would just hire an editor or at the VERY LEAST be transparent and honest about why the video is being delayed to such as extent. Wedding season is coming up again and I honestly feel like Joel is about to scam a bunch of brides and grooms. The man is a narcissist and will emotionally manipulate you into feeling sorry for him. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. All the negative reviews are true! If you are in the same situation as I am please just proceed to report to the Better Business Bureau and also submit a complaint to the court. Joel came by recommendation from another highly respected photographer in the area. Joel was very professional initially, and we agreed to hire him as the videographer for our wedding. Joel showed up on time, and was nice and stayed for the duration of the event. We even referred Joel to another family member for their wedding which was 3 months after ours, in which he showed up on time and captured video for their wedding. The unfortunate part is that, as professional as Joel was in showing up on the date of the events he was equally unprofessional in actually delivering the final product. After ignored calls, and multiple text message threads with promises to have our video by the end of the week we still did not have a video after 10 months. Finally, we had to reach out to one of Joel's colleagues and mutual acquaintance for guidance. Within moments of that call, we received a call directly from Joel apologizing again and letting us know that he would have our footage by the end of the week. Well, Sunday came and went so we called again Monday morning. Joel ended up delivering a video by the end of the day, however it was not the length that was stipulated in the contract and only had the ceremony but none of the reception. We also had requested for the raw footage in the contract. At this point, Joel let's us know that he lost most of our footage due to a hard drive crash which is what took so long. Joel ended up sending the raw footage on a hard drive, which actually had some of the reception footage (although very little). The family member that we recommended to Joel still has zero video of their wedding which took place 9 months ago. Based on the other reviews, this definitely seems to be a pattern. Needless to say, since a wedding is a special day the last thing you want to deal with is an unresponsive vendor. Especially for a critical service like actual footage of your wedding which capture moments that you'll view years later. If I could give 0 stars in this review I would. There is no stars for jsuarez Visuals . I've been dealing with this disrespectful guy for over a year. He did my daughters 15 video and has been lying to me week over week over week . I'll txt him and he doesn't answer my texts , and one time I dialed his number 20 times cuz he was ignoring my calls and he said he was gonna turn on airplane mode on my number . He told me that he'll give me my video when he gives it to me.whenever he wants . I don't know how a person at his age can lie like a little kid . He's very rude and disrespectful. He kept telling me he was busy and that he forgot my video and that he needed more time and that he was at a shoot at 11pm and that I'll take it to you tomorrow and then next week and then next Sunday . I'm devastated that I was lied to and no longer have memories of my only daughters 15 . This man deserves the worst for taking people's money and deceiving people on their special day . I wish I could give him 0 stars. He has ignored and lied to me so many times. I found Joel on Instagram and hired him to do our engagement video and he did an excellent job, delivered our video within 3 days and I was blown away, his job was fantastic so when I started planning our wedding I contacted him, but he was booked. Our wedding was during covid so we had to change our date a couple times. During that time, I hired a local photographer/videographer and one day out of the blue I got a message from Joel saying that he was available, so of course I hired him, and I cancelled the other videographer. The day of the wedding Joel showed up on time and seem very professional. He promised to have our video within 2-3 months. During that time I messaged him several times and it was a nightmare getting a hold of him. I even gave him extra time, till this day he hasn't responded to any of my calls or messages. He delivered raw images, and our video was 90% complete. There were a couple minor changes but like I mentioned he ignored all my calls and messages and after 2.5 years I've had enough. Updated review: After continuously trying to get a hold of Joel (which caused extreme stress especially during a pregnancy) I finally received some footage. He did only charge for the deposit of $1,500 but why? Why would I pay someone $1,500 who wouldn't respond to me for days in end, who made unkept promises, who didn't deliver what was in our signed contract, and who took more than double the amount of time than what was in contract? Do not use Joel for your videography. He was recommended since he was a prefer vendor for Willow Heights Mansion venue. However, after my wedding he keeps telling me he will have the video ready over 20 times. I am easy to work with and all he had to do was to tell me he is over booked and to give him some time. Nope, he ghosted me and now a year had passed and he is still telling me he will get it to me soon. $3500 down the drain and I can't even get a 2nd look at my wedding day :( read more

My wedding was 4/30/22. When we initially met Joel, he seemed professional and trustworthy. on the day of the wedding, everything was perfect,he showed up on time and did his job. He initially told us it would take about 3-4 months for us to get our video, and now it's almost been a year and nothing. I have reached out multiple times, and we always get false promises. I have a screenshot of all the texts. He was highly recommended by a professional photographer out of Monterey. It's sad to think we paid a lot of money to have a video of our wedding and now we don't have the money or the video. I am extremely dissatisfied with Joel... We had met back in November 3rd 2019 to sign a contract and pay him the deposit for our wedding in September 2020, due to Covid we had to postpone our wedding for this year in September 2021. June 17 2020 we touch bases over text messages I gave him my new date he said he was available. January 15 2021 he texted me again he wanted to double check if my wedding was still happening because someone had contacted him but he wanted to double check with me first. We were both in the same page I let him know the wedding was still happening in September. About a week ago Joel texted me to cancel on us because "he was in a bad spot". His excuse was he had over booked an event that wasn't place on his calendar and wasn't going to make it back to our wedding day. I guess his bride had made some changes that made him cancel on us. I feel as a professional videographer he should've talked to that bride and let her know he had an event the next day. 2 months before the wedding he flaked on us his contract said if he wasn't able to cover the day of the wedding he would have a replacement videographer which he said he wasn't able to find one when in reality I'm sure he didn't tried because i was able to find a couple local Videographer. I've known Joel for a couple of years now. I first met him when he was working front desk at In-Shape in Salinas. When I was there, I noticed he would do a lot of edits for people who would workout through his phone using an app on his mobile phone. Although the video quality wasn't good because it was shot and edited through mobile, you could tell how much vision it had due to certain maneuvers/tricks he would do in his videos. One day I remember him mentioning he was excited because he had invested into more profesional equipment and had done a little setup in his room to focus more on his videos. Fast forward a couple months/years now and he's being hit up by well known names in the fitness industry! Not even that, he's also being hit up by businesses/companies to make footage for them (which is where the money is at lol). The professionalism in his videos are out of this world.
