They are upfront with what they expect from you and are a constant helping hand in taking you to places you never thought you could reach in your training. As someone who works out regularly I am still able to get a great workout every class. At no point have the classes got "easier" and I leave just as exausted as the first class I took. It is a training where you can push yourself every class and expect results, both mentally and physically. Working an office job, karate provides me the perfect stress relief from a corporate position. I can clear my head and focus on myself for an hour or two. I can go on and on of the benifits that karate has provided to my life and well being, but each person is different. Come on in and see what karate training can provide to you.

I've used reviews literally hundreds of times in my purchasing decisions, yet I've come to the…read morerealization that I never write them. In an effort to pay it forward, I decided to start by reviewing a place I feel people need to know about. The dojo in Clawson MI is a place you must check out. The instructors there (Sensei Rob and Sensei Laura) are top notch and have all the traits you could possible seek (highly skilled, passionate, knowledgeable, patient, and just really good people). I've known them for the better part of the last 15 years and can honestly say few people have made more of a positive impact on my life than they have. Aside from the great instruction, the fellow students there are truly a joy to train with. It's humbling when you see them show as great of an interest in your development as they do with there own. You find yourself growing/developing within the group and new friendships are one of the many results. I feel very fortunate that I have gained some great friends over the years through training. You should expect the same. In addition to getting some good exercise and learning/developing self defense techniques, I personally find this place a great mental refuge and a way to get away for 90 minutes from the daily grind. When you train you don't think of that project at work, class you might have a test in, lawn in need of being mowed or your cable/phone bill....you just think about the training. You may, like me, find this to become almost essential to a healthy life. So you've read this far, isn't it about time you just go up there and try a class out for yourself? One of the first things Sensei Rob ever said to me was that the hardest part of training is walking through the door. Once you are there it is easy. While I wasn't sure about that comment at the time, I found it to be very true (in other things as well). Some of you may have driven by the dojo already....contemplated coming in. My hope is that this review will give you the motivation/desire to take that toughest step and walk through the door to give this place a try. I am sure you will thank me later!

Excellent facility! My 4 year old really enjoys coming to his martial art classes. Denny, the…read moreinstructor, is very good at making the class educational and fun at the same. The kids are learning through playing. My son is now much more independent and confident after a month of lessons. He has recently earned his white belt, and I can certainly observe the positive impact this class has had on his discipline. Price for the classes also very reasonable. Great location. Clean interior. Denny truly care about all the kids and theirs learning process. Would recommend for any family looking into martial arts for their kids!

He attends Mr. Stecker's class with great enthusiasm and dedication. The class structure and training patterns often change, which might seem challenging at first, but it has truly been a blessing. It teaches both the kids and us, as parents, to stay flexible and adapt--an essential skill in today's fast-paced, ever-changing world. Mr. Stecker doesn't just teach martial arts; he builds confidence, discipline, and strong character in his students. He helps shape them into kind, respectful, and well-rounded individuals. As a parent, I've learned so much just by observing his teaching approach and positive influence.
