He told me also immediately what the issue was and that it would cost more to fix the machine than to buy a brand new, better machine. Then he opened up the machine to show me exactly what the issue was. In other words, he provided the evidence of his words. I had another sewing machine that I had never used, so he looked at that one, cleaned it a bit, added oil, and then patiently showed me how that machine works vs the one I had used for years.
