But there's still room for some reliable companies like Daily Overland, a freight-forwarding company that ships to Manila and most areas in the Bicol region. My mom is a suki of this company because Bicol is our hometown. She buys most of our appliances in Legazpi (I know, it sounds odd), the big ones and haves it shipped here through Daily Overland. And when we would go to the province for a vacation (three days or more), she would put some of our things like toiletries, extra clothes and food in a big box and ships it to Bicol three days before we leave Manila and the box would arrive there just in time. That way, we have all the stuff we need, but don't pay for excess baggage at the airport. She's good, right? My mom's been trusting Daily Overland with our things for several years now, and we have never encountered any loss or damage in our properties. No delays either. The shipping fee is quite cheap too. The only downside is they don't do pickup or delivery in this part of Manila, so we have to ask our driver to bring or pick up the stuff to their office in Malate.

So disappointing. Package was delayed already for 3 weeks (ordered November Black Friday, was able to pick up 2 days before Christmas!) and the amount I paid for a 4lb item cost the same if I used TWO DAY SHIPPING with Fedex or another logistics company. The company should take accountability when things go missing & issue partial refund if a shipment gets really delayed. Never again.

One of the most frustrating things that come with living in the Philippines is that you can't shop…read moreonline. You could, but when it arrives here your face will get slapped with a sizable tax charge from customs. It's either you pony up and pay the tax or they'll send back the item. No matter how you cut it, you'll end up the loser. One way to get around paying these exorbitant fees is to use Johnny Air Cargo. The whole process is easy to go through and hassle free. You just contact them and tell them of your plans. They'll give you a US address to send the items to, and then they'll send it to the Philippines. I know that it looks like you're just circling around, but it works. There is a fee involved of course, but what they're charging are fathoms away from what customs will charge you.

I've been going to them for a good two years for all my events and they've given me a good quality output every time. I remain loyal to them because of my first experience with them. I was joining my first bazaar and I needed to do rush printing of my tarp with product pricing. I sent them the file but they were not very happy with the images and the layout so they really spent about an hour helping me fix it - and they did it for free! About an hour or so later, they printed my tarp and it was ready. They even sold me an x-stand so my 5-foot tarp would say secure in the background. They do work on a lot of other tarps, but I often get my stuff either within the day or early the next day. I also noticed that the print quality is really good and there's no weird smell. I've tried other large format printers before discovering them and I often have problems with the way the tarp smells for the first few hours. I've never had that problem with them. Plus, the people who work there are really nice. They will always be my main supplier for tarps.

If you're sending a postcard, the last time, it cost me Php20. It's more expensive by a few pesos, but at least you don't have to go to the post office and it's a lot cheaper than sending it by LBC. It just takes a bit longer to receive the postcard though. This little stall can also make photocopies of your documents. You don't also have to deal with the long lines 'cause few people come here. Sometimes, I'm in a rush and I'm too lazy to buy load in cards where I have to scratch of the protective covering to reveal some numbers. When I'm that lazy, I pass by this shop, tell them how much I need and the lady sends me the load.
