Unprofessional. Greedy…read more Dishonest. I contacted Sean with Mike Lopez Roofing for an estimate to re-roof a home in Santa Fe after finding his company in the Santa Fe Reporter "Best Of 2025". His estimate was high, and he promised he would repair a section of the roof and return to replace the entire roof (of which I paid a deposit of $9,500) in September. He did not notify me or my tenants before his September start date, showed up at the house while my tenants were travelling abroad and was upset. Sean does not possess professional communication skills, which is mandatory when you own a business and your clients are paying top dollar for contractual construction work. After no communication from Sean for 3 months, my tenants sent me an urgent message on December 15 - to let me know part of the roof caved in. Sean began the roof project (without my knowledge) during my busiest time of year and things were not go smoothly. HE DID NOT PULL A PERMIT WITH THE CITY OF SANTA FE, which is his company's contractual obligation and expense. This led to a delay with the completion, and a complete disaster. The furnace went out in the house, as the roofing crew reinstalled the exhaust incorrectly, triggering the safety shutoff. On December 23, Sean began harassing me to pay the final invoice, and said he was leaving on vacation. I told him I would be able to review the invoice and pay him after the holidays, as I was extremely busy at work. He continued to call, text and threaten me for days. On January 6, Sean finally sent the receipts and pictures I requested from the job. I told him I would call him later in the day with my credit card number. Within a couple of hours, he accused me of "blocking" him and he had his attorney call me. I phoned Sean within a few minutes with my credit card information, as a person of my word. Not cool, not trusting, bad character, and unprofessional.

Mike Lopez roofing continues to not disappoint. Six years into our new roof, couple small issues…read moreand they responded quickly to take care of us. Great company , friendly and competent employees. Kent Smith

Roof maintenance . Estimator came to look at the roof and provide estimate. With all the photos and…read moretalking I assumed they were going to do quite a lot of work for there 5767.00 bid; not including tax. Not told it was just a fixed rate by square foot. The Crew ( one guy ) was there for three part days 14.5 hrs being generous including lunch breaks and times that I could not say he wasn't there. Product used maybe four gallons JACO Patch; good product costs anywhere from 150.00 to $200.00 per tube of 2 Gallons. All they did was paint this on lots of corners and all penetrations . Did good job doing this. Some things in the bid I guess were not needed. When asked why they did not sweep the roof to better see what to repair was told it was not specified in the bid. work done OK; Cost astronomic.

Three months ago the stucco on the front wall around my house began to show water damage and…read morecracking. SFStucco&Roofing redid the entire wall, adding a water barrier, which was not originally installed, along the top of the wall to prevent recurrence of the problem. The repair was quick, and the workmen took great care to protect the plants along the bottom of the wall. The color match is very good, and the wall looks great! About five years ago SFStucco&Roofing replaced the worn-out and leaking tar and gravel roof on the house with a membrane roof. No review, I was not following Yelp then, but they did a very good job. After five years there are no leaks, but when I inspected the roof this spring there were several areas where the membrane had lifted from the roof and torn. The roof is still under warranty. SFStucco&Roofing sent out a team that repaired all the damaged areas that I had seen, and several that I was not aware of. Highly responsive, and I was very pleased with their work.
