Was pretty excited to try this place out as they have pretty great reviews on Google but this was…read moreone of the poorer Brazilian Steakhouses I have had in terms of the food. Vibes and service were absolutely wonderful though including the price so it was a pretty conflicting experience. Pros First: - I think it's genuinely hard to find another Brazilian Steakhouse buffet with vibes like this anywhere else in the UK or the States. £25 for AYCE is quite a good deal especially with the variety of meats they do have. - Cinnamon Pineapple - I could not stop eating this and definitely the best item of the night as the juice of the pineapple was crystalized within the cinnamon. Hot tip: Use this as "sauce" for the dryer meats like pork and chicken. - Picanha Com Alho - This was the best meat item by far for the night. The fat was perfectly well incorporated into the meat which was extremely juicy and flavorful. - Service was great as our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. Seems like they were very busy though. - Gnocchi with Prosciutto and Asparagus - This was surprisingly delicious and I would actually order this at a restaurant. It was a little greasy though. Cons: - Most of the sides were very mediocre to bad. Steamed broccoli literally means that they just steamed the broccoli. - The rest of the meats also lacked flavor and were a bit tough to chew on at the end. When I asked for sauces to go alongside the meats, the special ones all were an additional charge and so I asked for BBQ sauce and it was exactly that, very American BBQ sauce. Overall, very okay Brazilian steakhouse. As long as you focus on the three items listed above you will not be disappointed but everything else was very okay. Come early as the place does pack up for later lunch.

What is it with stupid restaurant signs that feel the need to have classy hand written logos. I…read moreseriously thought this place was called Spice Riot until I looked it up online. It was probably way I went. Looking for surly spices going around burning people and collecting ASBO's sounded like a good night out if I'm being honest. Much to my dismay it was far more civilised than that and found it to be a Thai restaurant too. I like Thai as I'm newish to it and am still finding myself ordering whatever looks good rather than going for a usual dish I like. Beef with hot thai bean sauce was my weapon of choice and I wasn't disappointed. There was a small Spicy riot in my mouth, but nothing I couldn't handle and found it very tasty indeed. The staff were polite and served as well, nothing out of the blue though. It did take a little longer than I would of liked but that may of been due to the large number of bodies that were taking up my air and my time, so it was understandable.

The interior is modern and very well furnished. Not a typical, authentic setting for this kind of cuisine, it's still pleasant enough and certainly kept clean and in good condition. The staff here are friendly enough, although given the nature of buffet dining, there's pretty much very little they have to do. Staff are keen to offer refills on drinks, but this isn't entirely innocent. With the quite cheap prices on buffet food, the drinks are a little bit more expensive and carry a bit of a premium. The food is pretty average. That's an honest opinion. Really don't think it's anything to write home about, and i'd hardly call it authentic and flavoursome. The poor quality of the food is detrimental to the whole experience quite significantly. After all, you do go out to eat the food, not take in the surroundings.

Salt N Pepper Grill - Serving Platters

This is what I find odd about the city centre end of this fabled street: It somehow looks more dilapidated than the other end of the road, but some of the most lavish eateries, like Cla Zaman and Mirchi, and some of the most renowned and upmarket salons in Cardiff, such as Guy Christian and Coray & Co. are based here. This seems to contradict the appearance of the place, which is a little baffling! Salt N Pepper Grill, as the name would suggest, concentrates its efforts on charcoal grilling a pretty impressive range of kebabs, some of which are vegetarian. They have an 'all you can eat' option for £8.99, offering forty different items to choose from. Students, who get a 10% discount on normal menu prices, can enjoy the 'all you can eat' offer at £6.99. The food is well prepared and the service is good, but I wonder how adversely affected this restaurant is now that Cal Zaman has opened its doors... they're difficult to compete with in terms of scale and luxuriance, and priced similarly they present pretty stiff competition.

If you always wanted to try every dish but haven't built the courage to try the hotter menu items this is a great opportunity. Get there early and claim one of the booth tables to have a more secluded dining experience. For larger groups this is an ideal curry place with some fantastic dishes for everyone's taste. The seating is very comfortable, with marble floors and some very attractive interior design it's a restaurant to put on the list.

The modern, antiseptic, practical seating doesn't sit well in stark contrast to the hand crafted stonework of the exterior. But I have to say, I do love the huge mural of a little Chinese girl behind the counter. It's got that Communist, political poster campaign look about it, and makes me smile. In its defence, it's an 'all you can eat' restaurant that lets you blow out on a cloud for £3.99, and that includes dessert! The food is okay, and the service is really proficient. This isn't fine dining, but no-one expects it to be! It's all about a quick rotation, not too dissimilar to McDonalds... but for the same price as a meal deal at Macky D's you can eat a fabulous amount of food that is definitely loads more healthy... (Remember Supersize Me?) And with this place you certainly won't be hungry an hour later, as you would if you went to Mac D's and squandered your money on empty-calorie, bland, potentially harmful non-food!

The décor is mediocre and the food is far from authentic, but the prices are cheap. And I mean seriously cheap. What can you honestly expect to get if you're paying less than a fiver? For cheap and cheerful, fast, unhealthy, filling, pseudo-Chinese food after a few drinks, this place might be okay. For a civilized evening out at a Chinese restaurant, pay real prices and eat at one of Cardiff's classier establishments such as the Riverside Cantonese or Happy Gathering.

The staff seemed to carry on around him. We got served by a smiling waiter who seemed not to notice it was 2am in the morning or if he did it ddn't seem to bother him. Just before the foods arrival my friend pointed out to the waiter that his plate was a little dirty. The waiter picked it up blew on it, gave it a rub with his napkin placed it back under my friends nose, winked, smiled then walked off. We just laughed. Anyhow - you'd think after this experience I would give it a bad review - but no - every town needs a curry house exactly like Kismet which caters for the drunks when all other places have shut down and their chefs gone home. The £2.95 buffet (I know; we couldn't believe it either...), £5.95 for the 4 course set meal and all drinks buy one get one free. Absolute craziness. The service we received was just great. I went there with my housemate Rachel (who you can actually see in this picture!) and we had an excellent time. Our server was friendly, engaging in conversation rather than just delivering information. The food itself wasn't the BEST indian that I've ever had but it was pretty darn good, especially considering the outrageously low prices of everything.
