What a surprise! As others have said, it is not easy to find, basically hidden behind a house…read more There were four cars out front but when I got inside, seven or eight tables were taken. It seems there is a second hidden parking lot as well. The menu touts "green beef enchiladas". Being used to Tex-Mex where beef enchiladas are served with dark red chili gravy, I asked about the "gravy". The server told me that green chili was what they made and assured me that I would like it. Perplexed, I ordered a guacamole and went back to the menu. The guacamole was the best I've ever had and about that time six Highway Patrols, two local Police, and a Deputy walked in for lunch. Cops don't eat bad food, so I confidently asked for Green Enchiladas and a chalupa. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and crisp, but the enchiladas were incredible. This place makes the trip to West Texas a little less painful!

But i had to use the bathroom when i went inside, i found rat droppings all around the bathroom. I was trying to notify my waitress but as customers came in and the place became more erratic. I was ignored and finally brought my food but after seeing what i saw in the bathroom i quickly lost my appetite.

Since arriving in West Texas and finding Cielo, we've loved every meal there until today, today…read morewe're VERY disappointed with the service today. We went in at 5 pm to have supper and some drinks. The waitress told us that she isn't licensed and can't serve us a beer and the bartender hasn't arrived yet. So we ordered a coke (he got a fountain Coke) and an unsweetened iced tea. We also ordered the fresh guacamole. About 15 mins later the waitress comes over and tells us that the bartender has arrived and asked us what we wanted. I said a Corona dressed and my husband wanted a Shiner Bock. The bartender served the two ladies at the bar and the waitress returned to us and asked what corona I wanted and told my husband that you do not have Shiner Bock, so he ordered a plain Corona. And we waited.....and waited....the two coronas were sitting on the bar and we waited..... the bartender was by the fountain machine and our beer was still on the bar. (there was no one else in the restaurant except us and the two ladies at the bar). And we waited. The two waitresses were having a great conversation and our beer stayed on the bar and our tea and Coke were empty and there was no offer of a refill. Finally we waited long enough and decided to leave. No refills, no beer and half our guacamole left. The bill was $31.23 which to me seems pretty expensive for a fountain drink, a unsweetened iced tea and an order of fresh guacamole.

"SEEMS LIKE A GOING OUT TO EAT KIND OF NIGHT"…read more Saturday we had plans to eat Dinner with my Wife's Son, Joe. We met up with him at his house in Colorado City (TX) and then went to Santiago's Restaurant just down the street. Santiago's Restaurant is a Mexican & American Restaurant with a really nice size menu. We have been here several times and it's always been some really Gooooooood Food. Arrived and this place as several cars & trucks parked outside - and a good number of customers inside. The Hostess, which is also a Server, showed us to our table. Our Server came over and we forgot his name - placed our drink order while we looked over the menu. They also provide you with their Fresh Chips and Very Hot Red Sauce - but it also is very flavorful. After decided we ordered. My Wife is going with their "Senior Hamburger Steak"; Ground Steak topped with Brown Gravy & Mushrooms, served with a side Salad and Texas Toast. Joe is having their "Pork Chop"; Grilled Seasoned Pork Chop with chosen sides; Loaded Baked Potato & Cole Slaw. Also comes with a Roll. I am having the "Double Cheeseburger"; Two All Beef 1/2 Pound Patties topped with Melted Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Onions & Pickles. Also request a Fried Egg on top - chose French Fries for a side. Orders are complete and we are enjoying those Chips & Red Sauce - and they filled up our basket of Chips and replaced the two bowls of Red Sauce - nicely done. I have had that Double Cheeseburger before and that thing is Huge and Awesomelylicious. I do believe it is more than a pound - those patties are the Largest Half Pounders I have seen in a restaurant. It is Mighty Big and Mighty Good. They also have some of the Best Fried Fish around and mu Wife and I almost ordered that - but I can't pass up a Good Burger and that's what they have here. Looking around we noticed that they must be operating on a short staff because we only see two Servers working and we do believe that is only one Cook on duty - they usually have Two - and this place is Very Busy. Guess it just might take a while to get out food. That's okay because we have Chips & Red Sauce. Anyway, it did take a while to get our food and Joes Pork Chop came out first - it does glisten and you can tell it is Seasoned nicely. Joe enjoyed the Baked Potato and Cole Slaw but said the Pork Chop was a little over-done. He added some Heinz 57 Sauce and enjoyed his meal. Soon after my Wife's and my plates were served and hers looks pretty good. She said it the Hamburger Steak was really good and the Brown Gravy Mushrooms were good. The Salad was Fresh and had good dressing. My Double Cheeseburger is Very Impressive and looks just like the one I had previously. There is so much meat on there that it looks like I'm eating a Meatloaf between the Hamburger Buns. It's also Mighty Tasty and each bite melts in your Mouthliciousness - and I Love the Fried Egg on top. It's a Special Way to enjoy a Cheeseburger. Like the long time ago commercial says; "I can't believe I ate the whole thing" - and I did because I done did this before - that's why I ordered it again - it's that good. The French Fries are Golden Brown and served Hot - right from the fryer with a nice light Crunch. Like I said, everything we have ever had here as been some really good stuff - but sometimes a Restaurant finds themselves in a bind and they do everything they can in providing the service you require. All the customers were very patient in waiting for their food because they know it's going to be good. We left a nice tip for them and we will be back. When we left their were more cars & trucks pulling in - they are going to be busy until they close. If you are ever out this way, stop in and give them a try. Check'em out on Facebook - Santiago's Restaurant - located at I-20 and Hwy 208, Colorado City, TX. The drive back to San Angelo was absolutely Beautiful on yet another Lovely Spring Evening in West Texas. Love You Baby, Bunches & DoubleCheeseburgerMunches.
