Bunch of scum!! Car was parked in rush hour which I acknowledge but meter expired at 3PM and while walking to the car at 3:05PM seen it on the back on the truck. Driver was driving erratically and both my front rims are scratched and damaged and been over two weeks waiting for a response and nothing back yet. Tried calling and they keep telling me there is no one to talk to. read more

Extremely aggressive and unfair practice. JP Towing towed my vehicle Oct 24, 2025 (invoice shows impound at 4:30 AM) -- and a City parking officer issued a ticket six minutes later (4:36 AM). I paid $470.80 to retrieve the truck plus a $75 ticket. This appears to be coordinated and predatory -- be careful. read more

Zack from JP towing must be an Angel. My brother's wheelchair accessible van got stuck in the snow last night and Zack came and winched him out. Then when my brother got stuck a second time, blocks from home, Zack came again and not only winched him out but followed him home to make sure it didn't happen again. read more

My car was towed to this location. Unfortunately, due to shortage of staff, I had to wait more than an hour to get my car. And then, I was charged for (part of) the wait. But this is not the reason for my extreme dissatisfaction. When I respectfully complained about the long wait to the gentleman at the front desk, he became unbelievably irritated, and then responded in a incredibly abusive and disrespectful way. The insults and yelling lasted at for several minutes, during which I could not do anything other that hold my head at the counter and wait for the swearing to end. I brought the matter up to the management later in an email but they dismissed the part about the unprofessional behavior of their staff. read more

other towing company charges $16 per night with contract with the police. This place overcharging me a customer before this my car was towed from filmmore parking lot over the weekend and by the time my car was located it already at the impound but the power steering pop out that's another story so I brought a caa with me so that I could tow it to the mechanic shop am already at the impound mechanics waiting with caa on ground waiting to deliver it to my mechanic so I had no choice but to pay $70 8dayz about $699 I ended up paying them, now another car towed for 18 to 20 days $70 again. The axle on my left driver's side wheel snapped as I was driving home late last night along Dundas, which has street cars. My car veered into the middle of the road and then it couldn't be moved until the tow driver arrived. Thankfully there were no street cars coming when this happened (midnight), and a cop car happened to arrive behind me within 5 or so minutes and they called JP Towing. Kadeau the driver was an angel, from the moment he arrived and I heard his calming voice, my stress level immediately decreased. He was a pro, he hooked up my car quickly and drove me 13 km north to my auto shop. Such a lovely man, he made the whole experience much more pleasant than it could of been. He's a gem and I am so grateful he was the one to tow my car. Thanks again Kadeau, you are gem!! read more

If it was possible to give negative reviews I would. Had us waiting outside for over an hour to get our car. This is a quasi-criminal operation, ironic given they work hand-in-glove with the TPS--supposedly a serve and protect organization. Allegedly parked my car on a Saturday evening "overhanging" a driveway during the depths of winter. A ticket is issued and 20 min later I find myself without a car. $300.00 later I have my car back. The customer service seems to have improved, but they are still an extortionist gang who justify their predation with "just towing" and being an arm of the police. Shame on both for extorting the battered people of Toronto. read more

Worst customer service I've experienced. Not willing to answer questions about their own policies then threaten me that they can deny service to me because the way I am speaking to them? When I haven't cussed, threatened or harmed any of them. RJ, Jackie & Sherry were the ones working. Jackie did not want to give me her name even though she is the manager and the person running things. Denying me my car for the same reasons they let my friend (a white woman) have her car back no issues. It got to a point they didn't even respond to me or look my direction. Very racist establishment. read more

I went to check out the cars. Receptionist was unprofessional and in my opinion is racist! She did not acknowledge me when I walked in and she sent me in the yard without the paperwork. I had an unbelievably negative experience with J.P.s towing. I get that being a tow truck driver likely comes with a lot of harsh feelings being directed to you, however I don't think that justifies being a full on jerk. I was biking home from work along Dundas and a guy from J.P.'s proceeded to block an entire streetcar from continuing down the street. Being a cyclist I also was blocked. The JPs guy was not towing a car, was not hooked up to anything... he was just being defiant to the streetcar who was ringing a bell at him. When I asked if he could take a step in so everyone could pass, the driver got in my face and threatened me. The TTC driver intervened, as did a parking cop, so I was able to go around him. I called JPs towing to follow up on this incident--spoke to a very helpful woman on the phone and was connected to the Manager. He was apologetic, however did say he'd follow up with a formal apology about the incident--which was never received. Perhaps they are good at towing people which is a thankless job...but poor handling of a very upsetting situation. read more

Can't speak to their services, but I called them in a panic in early January on that -40 day at 6:30am when my car battery was frozen; CAA had a one-hour wait just to have them answer the phone, and when we did finally get through, they were saying 3+ hours. JP said two hours, $75+ tax. Ten minutes later, my upstairs neighbours woke up, and gave me a boost. Before I could call JP to cancel the order, they showed up. Only 15 minutes after I booked them, on a day when EVERYONE had a two or more hour wait for a boost? Like I said, I can't speak to their customer service in terms of towing, etc, I can just tell you that when you need them in a crunch for a boost, they're darned speedy! read more

I would give JP Towing a 10 star if I could. More importantly, the tow driver, Shane who arrived at my condo garage went out of his way to tow my car out, a feat that I didn't think was even possible because there are two levels of circular ramp in my garage with low clearance. Due to the angle of the garage and ramp, Shane had to think hard and pushed my car for me to set it in the right angle for the tow. Going up the circular ramp, he demonstrated his experience and skills, utilitising every inch of the tight space to pull it up. This man has done of lot of condos and underground parking and his experience and judgement shows. JP was upfront about their charges and there was no hidden cost. Shane's experience was invaluable and friendly man as I joined him on the ride. read more

Absolutely terrible and overpriced service. They charged $240 to tow my vehicle within a city to a mechanic shop which was less than 5 km. Scratched my car with their sign to put them up over my car. Paid with my credit card on the POS machine, plus the driver also got the hard copy of my credit card. Called the towing company to ask why would they need the hard copy of my credit card since the payment is approved on spot, been told that they need it it's just because of her boss wants it. What the hell? Cancelled my credit cards right after and requested a replacement from my bank to prevent myself to be a victim of fraud. Stay away from this company! read more

Horrible customer service experience. Rude not willing to answer questions, refuse to let you see the car and it was only 5pm.. Sold my car someone dumped it I got a letter, no phone call from Toronto Police nothing.. JP towing threatening me about this bill racking up (I got a letter from JP towing 11 days after impound) told them wasn't my car as I had sold it. Police are useless in helping *SELLER BEWARE * if you sell a car in Ontario there is no way to take it out of your name until the new owner registers ot and if they don't you'll get screwed. They don't mention anywhere one the gov sites or at the ministry to make it simple come in with the buyer and switch it. or learn the hard way. Even if you have a receipt doesn't matter.. so this company also hasn't switched ownership over a month... Also if you sign a car over etc.. the Buyer or Company has 6 days to registerr as stated in the Used Vehicle Sellers package.. it's a bunch of bullshit in that package cause they haven't switched it in over a month and Ministry of Transportation says nothing you can do expect mark a car sold but in the end it will come back to you if any charges or accidents. read more

BEWARE!!! I sold my car to a tow truck driver for scrap last month. I got a letter in the mail saying that I now owed 1200$ for 70$ a day for storage from jp towing. This is a scam and a lot of people prob end up just paying it. I called the police and they told me that it's very fraudulent and I need to go to the ministry to report it. The dispatcher at jp told me it would be going to collections. Be very careful and do not fall for this. I wonder how many times they get away with stuff like this??? Tow truck drivers are hard enough to trust with out stuff like this happening. Would never recommend a company that is involved with fraud.. read more

Incompetence bordering on the criminal. So - the city of Toronto marks my car for towing, and these fine gentlemen arrive to tow it. But wait! They enter the plate number into the police system wrong! Thus, there is no record that they actually towed it. When I found my car missing, I called the cops, and since no record of towing existed, it was reported stolen. When the cops found it 10 days later, they hauled it to the police impound, fingerprinted it, wasting police resources, and they contacted me to go pick it up. When I did, JP Towing hit me for over $1050, $770 of which were in storage fees. Now, JP screwed up, and accidents happen. If they had been willing to refund that storage fee, I would have been happily on my way. But it has taken three weeks of phoning them multiple times a week to get any response out of them. Again and again, they promised to call back that day, or the next day, or Real Soon Now, and they never did. The excuse was either that the investigator wasn't available, or that the owner, John Paul Cruz, was on vacation. After filing my complaint on April 7, I finally got an answer on April 30, a full *three weeks* later. When I called again, they told me that they had left a message on my answering machine, but comedically, they had got my phone number wrong. They offered to refund 470 - barely half their storage fees - and made it clear that this was a short-time offer or I would get nothing. This is the kind of hostile and unethical practice someone should investigate. read more

Asked me to come there over the phone, and setup a time days later. When I took half day leave and arrived by bus (2 hours one way), owner/manager merely told me it is wrong info that took about 30 second. I guess it's okay if you don't go down there and deal with them in person. read more

JP Towing has one of the worst customer service policy. I had my car towed at around 9pm and since I had my family with me stranded, I paid the amount and distance they quoted. I am a TD auto club member and should have been charged less. The driver made me sign two receipts but refused to give me a copy of the second receipt. Even after I called the office, they refused. It took them 3 weeks to acknowledge they had overcharged me on the rate. Not sure how long before I actually see the money back. They still overcharged me with the distance even thought I emailed them a google map copy of the mileage. Very poor customer service. I would not use their service again. TDon read more

JP Towing aggressive/dangerous driving Tow truck plate: 710 5ZF On Sunday Nov. 23rd 10:30pm, JP Towing operator was driving very aggressively. Zig-zagging in and out of lanes at 427 south and Gardiner eastbound. At one point, it seemed as though the driver was chasing me just to cut in front of me. I maintained my position in the left lane, driver came from middle lane and purposely cut in front of me very suddenly without signalling. The rear tow device came within inches of my front bumper. I immediately changed over to the middle lane to avoid this negative situation from escalating further. I've never experienced anything like this so I did feel frightened and very surprised. After I passed this tow truck, the driver moved back into the middle lane behind me and continued along seemingly satisfied after performing the dangerous action. Prior to this incident, nothing occurred during my drive home that would have led me to expect this to happen. I truly don't know why this driver did this. Maybe the driver didn't like the colour of my car but it leads me to believe that it definitely was not the first time for this driver. Makes me wonder if the driver wanted to cause his own accident just so he could hook me up and bill me $1000. His word against mine. Judging by previous reviews, seems like there is nothing accident/tow victims can do except pay. This type of driving behaviour suggests that the driver may have been under the influence, in a bad state of mind, or attempting a staged collision. One single road raging driver working for JP Towing is not a reflection of the entire company but I'm definitely going to avoid their services in the future. It's better to be stuck on the side of the road rather than interacting with a mentally unstable tow operator. If you find yourself in need of a tow, avoid this operator at all costs. The license plate is mounted on the outside of the cab directly behind the driver's seat. Plate# 710 5ZF. read more

BEWARE TORONTO!! Wish I could give a 0 star...my car got towed because the assigned parking of my Condo was having a renovation....the driver adds 90 $ on top of the regular charges since he has to do a "lot of" work to tow the car...so guys even if you are parking in your garage please keep your car "tow ready"....had been told by the on-site staff that you can call in the morning and speak to Jackie to take-off the extra 90....called in the morning and Jackie answered it in the rudest reply I ever had is that you can talk to whoever but the extra 90 will not be removed....pathetic!! read more

Neeed a flatbed and no other company could help. Spoke to some guy name Courtney, he got one to me within a half hour

what an awful experience dealing with these guys, at best this would have to be your last towing option. Guy shows up late, boosts my car and tells me everything is ok so i pay the man. By the time i get in my car to drive off the car is not running and the battery is completely dead. The clown then peeled out with his window down, i yelled at him to stop but he decided to keep going. I called JP Towing back to ask them to call the driver to come back to either charge my battery properly or tow me to a station, at this point the tow truck was 400 meters away at stop light. She told me it would take over 45 minutes for him to come back and that i would have to pay for another charge. I would give this place zero stars if that was an option. read more

JP towing is the WORST, period!!! My car broke down in January at 10 pm at night, and I made the horrible mistake of just picking a random tow truck company, unfortunately it was JP towing. The guy showed up with his girlfriend, I gave him the address of the mechanic I wanted to drop my vehicle off at. He lifted the vehicle and I went for passenger side door to get in, The driver rudely says, "hey man, get in the back seat my girlfriend rides in the front" Here is a thought, maybe leave "girlfriend" at home, or maybe ask girlfriend to move to the back and treat the customer like a customer. Unfortunately the girlfriend was as pleasant as the tow truck driver. Did not say hello, did not look up and acknowledge there was a customer in the truck, simply kept her face against her phone screen working it with her meter long fake finger nails, and only once in a while during the drive looked up and spoke to her boyfriend regarding stuff that shouldn't be discussed with a customer around. As far as she was concerned there was nobody in the truck besides her and her man. We got there, I got out of the tow truck, He dropped my vehicle with little care, I said, "can you get it closer to the mechanics garage" as he had dropped it on the sidewalk, he yells out of the truck, "its fine". There was more than enough room between the garage and the sidewalk, there was no need to leave the car on top of the sidewalk. He then asks for my credit card, I give him the card and while I did that, I asked him if he would be kind enough to drop me over 5 blocks at the subway station, (it was -20 at 11pm in January, it was cold and no one around, it would have taken him 1 minute to get to the subway) he didn't reply. He got the "ok" from his dispatcher that the card was good, then gave me the card back and then said, "Nah, I can't drop you off, if I do that how do I make any money?" So here I am walking to the subway in minus 20 cause this douche bag feels that the 200 dollars I just gave him is not enough to give me a lift that would take him ONLY 1 minute. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. The next day I showed up at the mechanics and of course there was a parking ticket on my Vehicle, big surprise!!! I had told the driver that it was on top of the sidewalk, but he said, "it's ok", well it wasn't. Parking enforcement nailed me for I believe 90 dollars. I drove down to North York city center, got in line filled out paperwork and requested a court date. 9 months later took time off work went down for court and, got a suspended sentence, meaning I didn't have to pay the ticket. Once I explained to the judge that JP towing had picked up my car, I had pretty much won the case. He asked to see the JP towing paperwork, then said I was free to go. I was angry that I had to take time off work cause of the tow truck driver. In leaving court I called JP towing, and asked to speak to the manager. I told him what had happened, he rudely said, " so what do you want from me?" as if JP is magically not responsible. for me getting the ticket. I told him, considering your driver is the reason, I'm downtown, at a court date instead of at work, I should get some of my money back from the tow. , the manger laughed out loud in the phone. I asked him, 'what's funny? am I not right?" His Professional response as a so-called business man, "Yeah, its our fault, but I'm not going to give you any money back (laughs again) if I give you the money then I'm losing money" The tow truck drivers are rude and the manager I spoke to is NOT a business person, they are low life swindlers from an old generation that came up in old Toronto, before internet and competition and think there are no consequences to treating customers badly. That way of doing business is dead, and the best way to let them know is take your business elsewhere. read more

They don't deserve a star at all. These people are disgusting, rude and arrogant. If someone's car is towed, they will likely be upset but don't expect them to talk you down. The man full out hung up on me when i asked about price a second time, citing the tow prices for the city, and said it's because I " was not listening". Great customer service STAN! i cant fathom how the city of Toronto can give these guys a contract. Perhaps they should do psychological evaluations before giving them contracts...it's bad enough to have your car towed but they make you feel so uncomfortable and scared. And to top it all off, these people see your address! creeeepyyy! read more

This towing company has no problem ripping people off. My car broke down at the Toronto airport and they had no problem taking advantage of the situation, When I called for a tow the cost quoted me on phone was completely different than the one on the invoice. They fabricated a number of bogus charges which ended up costing me more than $300 for a regular tow. When I called to complain about the invoice the receptionist would not put me through to anyone else to dispute the invoice. They refused to explain the number of charges and cited the fact that the invoice was approved by their accountant. An awful experience. read more

I just moved in Toronto, and of course, am not yet familiar with all the by-laws about parking enforcement. Still,m being cautious, I verified the parking signs around my parking area to make sure that I was in a free parking zone (from 9 pm to 8 am). Funnily enough, waking up at 7 am and going out to get the car I rented yesterday, I noticed at 7.10 am that the car was not there anymore. After calling both the Police service and the towing company I was told that it is illegal to park on the street during rush hours, which started at 7 am. Now after reviewing the municipal code on the matter, I noticed that tow truck drivers need to be called after a parking enforcement officer has issued a parking ticket. Now it seems to me very upsetting that in 12 minutes, a police officer had time to identify my vehicle as illegally parked, issue a parking ticket, call JP Towing and then having the tow truck come and tow my car inside 12 minutes, especially since their location is very far from downtown Toronto. This all seems predatory and unsettling. Also, as a student who rented this car for my moving in day, the hefty fine amounting to about 410$ with the towing, storage and fine seems straight outrageous. How am I supposed to pay that? How was I supposed to know this by-law when they were absolutely no clear indications regarding the parking by-law, no signs, no nothing? I really hope that the city of Toronto will be diligent in addressing this matter as it is a great deal of stress for residents of downtown Toronto. read more

BEWARE! This company is actively involved in SCAM! On Feb. 5 2013 I received a letter from the aforementioned company. The letter did not contain any other information than the VIN number of the sold vehicle and my address with a name. Tow number was missing from this letter as well as it showed no license plate on the vehicle as well as no cost for towing, however demanded that I provide with a credit card to pay, which is cutting really close to SCAM. The vehicle was sold on Dec. 22, 2012 for which I have a signed bill of sale as well as at a later date it was registered with MTO office with a sold status. After contacting the company and stating this they would not agree and continue with psychological pressure to pay the bill or they will "sue my ass off" word-for-word what was being said to me. As of Nov. 22, 2013 i received a letter from Credit Bureau of Canada Collections that I owe 4,463.50. No other correspondence was received in between those dates. I also reported the SCAM to the police and will be starting litigation against the company and specific employees involved if the collection activities persist. read more
