Black Horse Garage - My new ride!!!

    Black Horse Garage

I first found this 911 cabriolet just internet searching for the car. Upon finding it was Black…read moreHorse Garage, I immediately went to their site. I checked out reviews of this place and frankly, I am unable to comment on what it used to be like, but my experience was top notch. After communicating with Tom Truitt and I received enough positive information that I needed to come see the car, I flew out to see/drive it. My experience at the garage was great. I had the opportunity to meet Matt, who was able to answer some of the technical details that I needed to know, and Don who did the final paperwork stuff. I also met the wonderful photographer (I don't recall her name) that takes all the great photos of the cars! The car was in great shape and everything checked out. I did not have anything that remained a question by the time I was ready to leave. We were able to negotiate a deal and have the paperwork signed that day. The only thing that remained was to get the car shipped to me in the Detroit area. Tom worked very diligently to get me a very fair price on the enclosed transportation and he did it very quickly. Unfortunately it is still winter and I can't enjoy this cabriolet for a few more months yet. I would absolutely recommend this place for your automotive needs. If you are fortunate enough to be local, they have storage, detailing, a bar/restaurant and banquet facility, and lots of cars! Pretty sure repairs and restorations are done there as well! I can 100% see myself checking here for my next vehicle. THANKS SO MUCH BLACK HORSE GARAGE!!!

But when I asked to have PPI (pre-purchase inspection) on the car they said can't drive the car to anywhere so ended up towing the car to nearest original Mercedes dealership in Fairfield CT to inspect the car, and guess what !!! the car needs over 11K of repairs (leak on ABC system front and rear, and needs front and rear shock and struts replacement, leak from transmission oil pan, failed on secondary air injection system... and I ended up paying $370 for the inspection by trusting them, so don't buy any vehicle from them without doing PPI (pre-purchase inspection) and by the way the car is still on sale with needs of over $11K repair...

Automotive Restorations - Krauser hard saddle bags, backside view

    Automotive Restorations

Automotive Restorations Inc (ARI), DBA autorestoreinc via eBay…read more **BUYER Beware** I'm to blame... I ignored the Red Flags from the start. I should have never engaged ARI's services... I was excited to have discovered a set of Krauser German hard saddle bags for sale by Automotive Restorations via eBay. These bags looked to be just the right fit for my vintage BMW R100RS motorcycle. I was excited. My first three email inquiries to ARI (over a 2 week period) went unanswered. Those were my first Red Flags. However, against my better internal judgement, I made an offer of ~$200 under their Ask price. It was immediately accepted. So I thought to myself "...self , just suspend your disbelief until I receive the goods. I didn't get any of my questions answered, but I have faith that people are intrinsically good and all will work out and the bags are complete and new as advertised". Unfortunately, this wasn't the case ... While the bags arrived promptly, safely and they were/are beautiful (as I still have them), the bags were missing 2 out of the 4 necessary keys to operate the bags: 2 keys for the pop-latches (lid-latch locks), and 2 keys to locking the clamp latches (latching clamp locks) which attach the bags securely to the motorbike. The later Hepco 'n Becker keys were missing. I'll spare the reader the back & forth details of what dialog ensued between Brian Oliver and myself. My initial phone and email requests of a partial refund ($88) to reimburse me for hardware/labor (locksmith) fell on deaf ears. Adding Insult to Injury... eBay ruled in favor of the Buyer (me), instructing the Seller (ARI) to either A) Provide Buyer a prepaid return shipping label for the 2 bags AND issue a full refund, or 2) Provide Buyer me a partial refund in an amount agreeable to both parties. Brian DECLINED my request for a partial refund of $20-50. They said NO repeatedly without any other explanation. ARI would have rather paid $100+ for the prepaid return shipping label, then provide me a refund, and then relist the items for a future transaction. This just doesn't make sense nor is it good business in my opinion. The Clincher.... Brian knew (as I made it very clear throughout our dialog) that I had already purchased the new locking cylinders and hired a locksmith to perform the hardware replacement so that I could make my previously scheduled motorcycle trip with friends. Brian knew I was Not going to return the merchandise. My Conclusion... Brian Oliver and ARI were being obstinate, objectionable and not reasonable. This is the only logical explanation for their actions. What a BUMMER. I hope my honest and objective review provides valuable insight for some. Sincerely, -Adam

First time I've bought a vehicle without personally being there, so I was apprehensive, but the car is exactly what they said it was. I got pictures and conversations with both Marissa and Tony helped me make what has turned out to be a great decision. Love the car. Would not hesitate to buy from them again. Thanks
