Oh, Carmi... I live and breathe for your smothered chicken…read moreplatter. It knocks me for a loop when all of those juicy flavors hit my lips. That's an entree I share with the boyfriend because otherwise I'd just go crazy. The cornbread stuffing is one of the best things I've ever had in my life. I love that stuffed chicken so much too. The boyfriend loves your fish stew and shrimp po' boy. I can't wait to get home to Pittsburgh to taste you again. Signed, Your biggest fan

That it was takeout only presented a dilemma for me, as I was just visiting the North Side for the day by bus and foot, and had no place to take my order. Of the two people behind the counter, one could not have cared less about my dilemma, but the other was of some help with this and my order. I wound up walking two blocks downhill to a park with benches. Second, that all orders are cooked to order and take 25 minutes. Fortunately there is a branch of the Pittsburgh Public Library across the street and it was open, so that occupied my time. The food: the chicken and catfish are fried in light crispy breading, very fine. The chicken wingettes were delicious. The catfish was not easily flaked and was ever so slightly rubbery, which would have been a very bad sign if it had been any more so. But it wasn't too bad. Green beans are a good side dish at this sort of joint, and these were good, seasoned with meat and sautéed onions mixed in. The white rice was entirely plain but tasty.

This business on wheels takes well known foods and adds a spin to them. The self-taught chef uses local produce to cook up high quality food you're like to find in any fancy restaurant. I've tried their tacos and the chef's special of late. Both have a nice combo of flavored that are a pleasant surprise. The recent chef's special were an awesome combo of fresh veggies and chicken that just blew me away. I'm impressed. Enough that I'll make a point to find the truck the next time I'm in town. What can I say, I love a good food truck.

After seeing this truck every week at our local farmers market, we decided to give this truck a…read moreshot....and we were really disappointed. We got an ahi tuna taco and a bbq chicken taco. After waiting a very long time (about 15 minutes which is a pretty long time for a food truck) for our food, we were not very impressed with what we got. The bbq chicken taco was just that. Bbq chicken in a tortilla. Nothing else. The tortilla was burnt to the point of inediblity and had about 7 small pieces of bbq chicken in it. The ahi tuna taco tasted alright, but the tuna might as well have been chicken. It was not distinguishable as tuna although it was covered in a delicious muddled strawberry and balsamic sauce with feta. Although unique, there are much better places to eat around town with the same wait time for takeout. I don't think we will be visiting here again.
