They really went all out this time! I have been hiring Distinctive Catering for decades now because I know that I can count on them to come through every single time! First of all, they arrived early, which made me feel relaxed as the host. They were a bunch of busy bees, dressed in their freshly pressed uniforms and looking every bit the professional chefs and serve staff, setting up the Tri-Tip carving station & Italian pasta bar, and creating an atmosphere of abundance and delicious beauty! Each station looked and smelled amazing! My guests didn't even wait until our emcee announced that the food was ready! lol They just followed the mouthwatering aromas emanating from the stations! In the Italian pasta bar, each guest's plate was made to order by their creative chefs and satisfied each one's preferred taste combination, whether it be chicken breast, Italian sausage, shrimp, spinach, mushrooms, fresh basil, sun-dried tomatoes, a myriad of other fresh veggies, garlic, Parmesan cheese and delectable sauces, like pesto, marinara, vodka and Alfredo! The tri-tip carving station was manned by another set of smiling chefs including their famous Caesar salad with Parmesan cheese, delicious garlic bread and extra large platters of fresh, seasonal fruit! They set up refreshing lemonade and iced tea as well and shared their ice with the bartenders too! Well-prepared and kind this band of talented chefs, they were! I contacted him to cater a small (9-11 person) birthday party, with a cooking demonstration thrown in. He was extremely responsive to my emails, giving us a reasonable budget, sending us a sample menu with choices for each course-and offering suggestions for wines, etc. The night of, Jesse arrived early to the house, set up his equipment and supplies and entertained us with anecdotes and hors d'oeuvres. When it was time for the first course and cooking demonstration, he gathered us around and did a great fresh pasta demo which we then sat down and ate with a pesto sauce. He and his partner were responsive to our time requests (allowing people enough time to chat, etc.), then served the next course of a chicken dish and a vegetarian dish - also excellent and he finished the meal off with coffee and a homemade tiramisu, which one of the guests called the best she had ever had. He and his partner cleaned up, boxed up our leftovers for us, stacked our clean dishes and left us to enjoy the rest of the evening with a very warm memories of the great meal they provided us. I could not recommend Jesse more.

We hired Chef Alberto for my daughter's "Dragons Love Tacos" 4th birthday a few weeks ago…read more He did a wonderful job and surpassed all expectations! I have hired seasoned taco caterers before and was disappointed thus I was searching for a new one. Chef Alberto caught my eye on Yelp, I liked his story about starting his own business while going to school. He answered all my questions upfront regarding his catering experiences, his food safety certification and what services he offered. I liked his taco menu with ala carte add on options, thus I was able to add on 25 bacon wrapped hotdogs for the kids and two jugs of delicious strawberry lemonade and watermelon water. It's nerve wrecking selecting the right caterer because the food is the main focus at all parties. You can't just run out and whip up hot full service meals for 50 adults last minute if the caterer drops the ball. Chef Alberto promised to arrive 2 hours prior to service time. On the morning of the party, he texted me 2 hours & 15 minutes before service time that he was already at the venue and setting up. Not only was he on time, but he was early! Talk about a huge weight off my shoulders. The food (3 meats, salsas, all the fixings, beans, rice, hot tortillas) was delicious, guests were going back for seconds and thirds! The set up and presentation was beautiful and very professional. He provided all the napkins, utensils, plates and cups but I chose to use our party supplies since ours colorfully matched the decorations. LOL! :O) We even had some leftovers to take home! I highly recommend Chef Alberto for taco catering, you won't be disappointed. I have posted some pictures from the party. You can see all the fabulous for yourself.
