I cannot say enough wonderful things about Joyful Learning Daycare! It has truly been a blessing for my daughter and me. She absolutely loves her teachers and gets excited to go every day -- which, as a parent, is such a relief! So grateful for the team at Joyful Learning. I've been with them for over a year with my daughter. The owner & her staff are always friendly & personable. They really are accommodating and are very knowledgeable. I rest assured knowing that my child is cared for as a single mom, I was always worried about doing this alone. Amparo, Thank you for replying to only our yelp review. For clarity: our child only began attending fewer days toward the end of his time at Joyful Learning because he was repeatedly coming home with insect bites and not being properly assisted with wiping. You had asked us several times if we wanted to continue care, which made us feel unwelcome. With your 25+ years of experience, you know schools and centers have waitlists that can take up to months. So yes, we would keep him home when possible, and take him to your center when needed. After-all, he was an enrolled student and we were paying a monthly fee for his spot. Your statement that "no similar concerns were reported" is not accurate. A previous Yelp review also mentions a flea issue at your center, and in our case, the evidence was clear: new bites appeared during the school day, noticed at pick-up, and documented in photos we shared with staff through the school app and by text which sometimes were ignored. As my child's father, I initially assumed he was getting bites from home since my child was getting so many, however no-one else at home was experiencing any type of insect bites. And I myself did not expect my child to be getting these bites at school because it's supposed to be a clean and sanitary space just like our home. In-person conversations also occurred amongst us where you mentioned that our child liked to play on the tanbark in your center, and his teacher at the time began to notice bumps/bites shortly after outdoor play. As for the termination of care, we are not upset. Joyful Learning made the decision to end our child's care, two days sooner than the scheduled date. Ending our child's enrollment earlier than the scheduled date only confirmed for us that it was the right decision to leave. My goal in posting this review is not to argue, but to inform other parents of our experience at your center. Families deserve transparency and safe conditions, especially when entrusting young children to a school environment. read more

We absolutely love this team and the childcare they provide. My children went from infancy up until school age. We were sad, I literally cried, when we left their care as they got older. I don't know about the previous review, but I can honestly say that I've been with Joyful learning for more than a decade. And I have never ever experienced any health issue or exposure with any of my children from joyful learning. My first child Amparo took care of is now 12 so as soon as I became pregnant, I right away made sure that I would be able to enroll my son at joyful learning anyone who is willing to go above and beyond for your child, your child's needs and development will always be number one in my book. My family and I have been part of the joyful learning program since it first started and we've had nothing but positive experiences with Amparo. She always has fun events planned for the children while still maintaining an environment for kids to be safe and offers tons of opportunities to learn something new as well. As a former daycare kid with Amparo I have had nothing but a great experience with her and her staff for many years. I have know her since she started her business. So I knew that she would be the only one I would want watching my children. Her and her staff are all so friendly and welcoming. The kids love coming to the center, besides learning, reading, writing, music, arts & crafts, etc. Joyful learning center always has special events that they do for the kids. From Easter egg hunts to ice cream day, they always make sure to make it fun for the kids. They have such a positive role on these children's education. And have become family to us. I feel beyond blessed to have been part of the Joyful learning family. My son started his journey at the age of two, and within the first week, I saw a change in him. He actually enjoyed going to daycare and looked forward to it every morning. There was no more crying when leaving home. That alone gave me peace of mind, because I knew he was truly being cared for. The entire Joyful Learning family has always been so wonderful and loving, which made the transition to kindergarten beyond emotional for me. Not because I doubted he was ready, but because I knew how much he was loved and cared for, and how much he loved everyone who cared for him. My son has grown so much thanks to their care. He constantly amazes me with his vocabulary, his thinking and how much he's learned. My son recently started kindergarten and several teachers continues to share how advanced he is in his class! I am extremely disappointed with how this school has handled a serious health issue and children's sanitation. Parents, please be aware that this school has had a flea infestation for months, and my child has suffered repeated bites because of it. Despite sending multiple photos to the directors, I was told they were unaware of any other cases, or my concerns were completely ignored. This is not just negligence, it's a complete disregard for children's health and safety. My child was getting bit for months, and instead of being transparent and proactive, the directors chose to hide the issue and leave families uninformed. Additionally, my child, a potty-trained two year old, often came home in soiled underwear because staff was not assisting him with wiping. I had mentioned he was still learning at home and asked Amparo and Esmeralda to help support at school, but they did not provide it. I was very lenient with the directors until my child got a bad rash from not being wiped properly and going home wearing a dirty underwear too often. I met with Amparo and Esmeralda which weren't understanding. They mentioned they wanted children to be independent. While I agree with fostering independence, children this young are not developmentally able to fully clean themselves, and they require adult support, just as they would when brushing their teeth. As an early childhood educator myself, I believe that regardless of age, children should always be checked to ensure they are clean and comfortable. This was lacked at Joyful Learning. Until meaningful accountability and corrective action are taken, I strongly urge parents to reconsider enrolling their children here. read more
