Simple tire balancing.....
 With unasked for repair estimes???

Went there for $49 tire balancing. And estimate on timing belt replacement. Service rep opted to let me know, car is old and when timing belt breaks to junk it....wtf??? Fuck these people!!!​

My mom, who's a senior, needed some work done on her vehicle, starting with fixing a slow leak in…read moreone of her tires. I live out of town, so, after a little online research, I reached out to Rockaway Service due to their 5-star reviews. When I inquired as to the cost of plugging a slow leak, I was told there was no charge as it was a service they perform for free. I was taken aback. No charge? Naturally, I had my mom drop the car off. Pat and Dan were very nice. A short time later Dan called me to discuss an issue with the sub-frame. My mom's vehicle is a Jeep Compass - subframe rotting out is a well-known and common issue. I was actually already aware of this on my mom's car and had been keeping an eye on it for the last year or so, knowing it would need to be replaced at some point. Dan texted me photos of the current condition with his recommendation that I not put it off any longer. The photos he took while the car was up on the lift showed the rotting had progressed much further than I could see from my vantage point with the vehicle on the ground. I grew up working on cars my entire life: My father was a huge do-it-yourselfer, so I know my way around an automobile. I know if I'm being spoken to honestly or not. I was trying to hold off because it could be a pricey repair, but Dan was correct - I could not put it off any longer. We made arrangements to bring the car back in a week. My mom dropped off her car to get the repair done and they actually drove her to work - unfortunately, the repair took a little longer than expected (as these things sometimes tend to do - it happens) so they picked her up at the end of the day and drove her home! Knowing my mom needed the car (she a senior widow, living alone), Dan stayed late the next night, finishing the repairs and then he personally delivered the car to my mom at her house! Who does that? Both Dan, Pat and even Denise (the woman that answered the phone) were all pleasant and professional. They went above and beyond what I would consider to be "normal" service. My mom is ecstatic about how much better the car drives and I'm very happy with the pricing. I think everyone can agree that it's very difficult to find a mechanic you can trust, and cold-calling one like I did here was a gamble. But it was a gamble that I'm glad to say paid off. I can't say enough good things about the way they treated both my mom and me. I know I tend to be overly wordy sometimes... but this time it's warranted. I just wish I lived closer to them, as, based on this experience, and the way they treated us as a first-time customer, would be very confident having them service my entire families' vehicles. Since my previous lease was also from Towne, they had all my paperwork and confirmed the deal. However, I recently received a bill from Hyundai Finance because Towne only paid a portion of what they promised. I am now being held responsible for payments that the dealership explicitly agreed to cover. I never would have signed for a new vehicle if I knew I'd be double-paying on two leases. For nearly three months, I have been given every excuse in the book: "the finance guy is on vacation," "the check is in the mail," or "I need to talk to the GM." This is beyond a simple mistake; it's a failure to honor a contract. If you are considering Towne Hyundai, be extremely careful. Get every promise in writing and double-check your account with Hyundai Finance immediately. Based on my experience with their lack of transparency and follow-through, I cannot recommend this dealership to anyone. Go elsewhere.

The Positives definitely outweigh the Negatives over here at the Rockaway Advance Auto Parts Store…read morewhich has gotta be hands down one of the best Auto Parts Stores in this area. They usually have whatever it is I'm looking for in-stock and readily available or they can get it to me next-day so that's pretty cool. Plus Counter Associates here are all very helpful and knowledgeable and that goes a long way especially for one of these chain type stores. Their local competitors employ some of the most lackadaisical folks you're ever gonna come in unfortunate contact with so I definitely do appreciate the Counter Service here.   You're also gonna find decent prices on most items in this Store including Motor Oil, Fluids, Windshield Wipers, Car Mats, Tools, Steering Wheel Covers, Trim Kits, and Seat Covers.   The store has it's own dedicated parking lot and it's located right off of Route 46 East. Come And Get Your Car Parts On!!

The employees have a very unfriendly attitude…read more They rolled their eyes when they heard I wanted to take advantage of the free battery installation and testing mentioned on the website when I purchased the battery. After making me wait for about 20 minutes, they finally bothered to bring the cart to my car, only to tell me that they could not do it because a bolt was under a plastic cover (side note, that bolt is easily accessible). I must mention again that the AAP website I used to buy the battery is clearly stating that the battery replacement and testing is available, for free, for my type of car (2011 Toyota RAV4). After filing an official complaint with the corporate customer service, the store manager called me, only to treat me worse than his employee. He was obnoxious, telling me that I am wrong, sarcastically congratulating me for being able to change the battery by myself (after making an unnecessary trip back home and another trip to the store to bring back the old battery, of course). He was constantly talking over me and cut the conversation short, refusing to admit that they are misleading customers with false advertisement, for services they are unwilling to provide, No surprise the employees are so unfriendly: shadow of the leader. Avoid this store.
