The franchise owner, Pramod, is dedicated to helping children learn math and English. We had a sad…read moresituation in our family. Our oldest turned out to be a math genius which lulled us into believing that the other three would do fine in math in school. I learned otherwise with our second child who was tested at Kumon when he was in pre-calculus in 10th grade and could not get the correct answer to 16 of 20 fraction problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Yes, I forced him to do Kumon. He worked an hour a day for 8 months and made up for 10 years of sliding through math classes, doing pattern matching. When he took the ACT, his pre-algebra math was tested at 99%. His two younger sisters were also in math at Kumon and now excel in math. Sadly, the high school continues to do a deplorable job of teaching math which is why Kumon is necessary. A daughter is now in pre-calc and told me that the teacher wrote: 1/2 +1/3 on the board and asked the 30 students how many could calculate the correct answer in their head. Only 6 students raised their hands. I am writing why you would take your children to Kumon because I was aware of the program for two years before I put my kids in it. I could not believe it was necessary to have daily drilling. Now my son in particular thanks me for forcing him through Kumon, and my two younger daughters tell me how fun it is fly through math worksheets in school when everyone else is struggling to remember basics like long division. I really respect Pramod who is almost always at the Kumon Center when it is open. He takes personal interest in each child and works to help them advance. I consider having my kids in Kumon as one of the best decisions we have made in parenting.

I did NOT appreciate that 0-15 month olds and 16-3 year olds have SCREENS here. That's not only NOT…read moreMontessori but also NOT good for Brain development. I pulled my child out and now am staying home with my kiddo full time. Reading "Better Late than Early" book convinced me that my toddler does not need preschool. We cut down our expenses so we can live on one income. Mommy or daddy, stay home with your child. Letting someone else raise them psychologically DAMAGES them. I dot recommend this center at all mostly due to the use of SCREENS.

When our son was an infant we started at a different daycare and it wasn't a good fit for us. We…read moretoured multiple daycares that promised a fancy curriculum and a polished facility. WTM was the only one that talked about helping to teach our son how to be a "good" person rather than only focusing on skills, e.g. playing chess by age 2. The teachers in the toddler room have been amazing, my husband calls the lead toddler teacher "the toddler whisperer" because of her natural ability to handle all toddler situations and challenges. Our son has really bonded with the teachers because they put a lot of effort into understanding his individual needs. We love the fact that toddlers spend so much time outside and engage in variety of activities, from doing different types of art work, planting a garden, to enjoying picnic lunch every Tuesday in the summer. It's always a pleasant surprise when our son offers to help or says "thank you" when it wasn't solicited. That reinforces the fact that the teachers at WTM are putting as much effort into conveying the social norms and values as they do into teaching the skills. We couldn't have asked for a better daycare than WTM.

We were very happy to find out that a French school exists in Minneapolis, and so we registered her. The contact with the school was from the start very positive: they were welcoming to our daughter, the classes are small groups so a lot of attention is given to each student. We are also very much impressed by the STEAM approach, which is a much more intuitive and creative form of learning. Our daughter has learned in this three months so much more compared to the more traditional learning process in Europe. That all of this was moreover tuition free makes notre école a little gem.
