It had been a number of years since my last certification preparation (PMP) and I had some concerns that I would need more time to absorb the PMI-ACP principals, and importantly, complete the course with a full agile mindset and prepare for the test.   These concerns melted away as the presentation, interactive exercises, and the collaboration with my classmates allowed me to be at ease and learn the agile knowledge needed to pass the PMI-ACP exam. The 3 day duration was perfect for me. The YMCA was offering limited distance learning without enough one-on-one support for younger aged children who are just learning to read. After much research, we found The Classroom. It has been a Godsend for our son & family....reasonable costs, a wonderful teacher and classmates, personalized curriculum and tutoring for his distance learning meetings & school assignments, a comfortable and safe space....I just can't say enough good things about The Classroom. If you are looking for distance learning support for your children or an alternative to traditional schooling, I suggest giving them a call for a tour! You will be happy you did!!

I am also a WBLHS graduate & so are my children…read more As an employee, I always felt that discipline issues were very well handled due to a clear & concise plan set forth by the school board & revised in a timely manner when needed. The dress code is also well documented in the Student-Parent handbook that is sent home on registration day. It's well enforced, so read it & be prepared. Solid retention of staff, including teachers, para-professionals, clerical, custodial, IT, principals & asst. principals, plus district level staff leads to continuity & professionalism. My children both received excellent preparation for college due to a zest of education that was instilled as elementary students. Extra curricular opportunities abound with dance line, comp level cheerleaders, all kinds of sport teams for boys & girls, Youth in Government, debate, Mock Trial, History Day competitions, Yearbook & oppirtunities that I know I'm forgetting. Music is very important with band, drumline, marching band & choir. Theater with great performances! Foods class, woods, drafting & tech classes are also possible. Our daughters have gone on to professional careers following college & grad school, but students also have found great success with 2 yr. degrees & intern or apprentice careers. For that matter, grads have also found themselves supporting families with their highschool degree due to the well rounded cousework offered at WBLHS. Our oldest turned out to be a math genius which lulled us into believing that the other three would do fine in math in school. I learned otherwise with our second child who was tested at Kumon when he was in pre-calculus in 10th grade and could not get the correct answer to 16 of 20 fraction problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Yes, I forced him to do Kumon. He worked an hour a day for 8 months and made up for 10 years of sliding through math classes, doing pattern matching. When he took the ACT, his pre-algebra math was tested at 99%. His two younger sisters were also in math at Kumon and now excel in math. Sadly, the high school continues to do a deplorable job of teaching math which is why Kumon is necessary. A daughter is now in pre-calc and told me that the teacher wrote: 1/2 +1/3 on the board and asked the 30 students how many could calculate the correct answer in their head. Only 6 students raised their hands. I am writing why you would take your children to Kumon because I was aware of the program for two years before I put my kids in it. I could not believe it was necessary to have daily drilling. Now my son in particular thanks me for forcing him through Kumon, and my two younger daughters tell me how fun it is fly through math worksheets in school when everyone else is struggling to remember basics like long division. I really respect Pramod who is almost always at the Kumon Center when it is open. He takes personal interest in each child and works to help them advance. I consider having my kids in Kumon as one of the best decisions we have made in parenting.
