My son has been attending Journey Education since kindergarten and is now in 4th grade, and we have had such a wonderful experience. The small class sizes make a huge difference because every child really gets individual attention and support. The teachers truly care about the students and are very involved in helping them grow both academically and personally. One thing I really appreciate about the school is the strong sense of community. The staff is welcoming, communication with parents is great, and it genuinely feels like the teachers and administrators are invested in each child's success. My son has built confidence, strong friendships, and a love for learning during his time here. Journey also does a great job of focusing on character, kindness, and leadership, not just academics. It's a safe, supportive environment where kids can really thrive. I'm very grateful we found this school and highly recommend it to any family looking for a nurturing and academically strong place for their children.

We found Journey Education is a small community to be a part of that is rich with integrity and scholastic competence. As a nonprofit private school, it is a total diamond in the rough for Las Vegas families. Our son has transformed in the past 2 years of being there with reduced anxiety and grades he feels proud of. Parents are given many opportunities to contribute to the students' experience and that was a big plus for us. The teachers are full of purpose and care about the students. The owners of the school are involved and genuinely care about the contributions their nonprofit school makes in this world. Highly recommend this K-8 school if there is space to enroll. Also, they offer an unbeatable summer program (our 3rd summer yet).

This is a great school and if your child needs extra attention, the small classrooms of 10 makes it easy for Journey to provide.

Principal Gerry Born is the best principal ever! Very attentive and very engaging with both teachers, students and parents. The teachers are spectacular! They really care about educating the children. They make sure they make it a fun environment, so the children feel at ease. Making it easier for them to learn new information. This school seems very advanced and up to date with their teachings and their technology. Since attending this school, I've noticed my child is a bit more advanced on the academic side compared to her other peers that go to regular in person public schools. Nothing against public schools, this school just works out for us as a family. This school uses real life scenarios in their quarterly projects. For example, they need to research about their dream vacation and how much it cost in real time and create a budget, etc. Surprisingly, as parents, after realizing her dream vacation was definitely more doable budget wise, we were able to actually take her on that dream vacation in less than a year's time. It not only teaches the students, but every assignment and project teaches us as parents as well. We highly recommend this charter school.

They aren't just there to teach; they genuinely care about the students' overall growth as human beings. They truly live out their motto of building "disciples, scholars, and leaders." We are so grateful to daily send our son to a place where a child's spiritual growth is treated with as much importance as their academic excellence. As a parent, I've always felt like a valued member of the team. The school treats us as partners in shepherding these young minds to become responsible, educated citizens who reflect the character of Jesus. They are also incredibly proactive--whether it's maintaining high standards for social maturity or ensuring top-notch safety with secure systems and their wonderful armed security guards (who are truly a beloved part of the Cornerstone family). They not only look for ways, to make the atmosphere at the school one that kids look forward to entering into, they are always working so hard to do the right thing for the families as they uphold guidelines and high expectations for everyone in the building. They are always striving to improve and are genuinely open to parent feedback to keep everything at the highest level possible. If you are looking for a school that will pour into your child's heart and mind, I highly recommend checking out Cornerstone. We are so grateful for the foundation they've helped our son build.

In the beginning I thought it was my daughter's problem -- she just didn't want to leave me. But after talking with the headmaster, I suddenly realized: it wasn't my daughter's issue -- it was their teaching philosophy. 1. They believed my daughter couldn't control her emotions, and they expected her to -- but she's only three, her brain isn't developed for that yet. Expecting a three-year-old to "control her emotions" is like expecting a one-year-old to control her bladder -- it's a physiological development issue. And the headmaster should know that. 2. My daughter didn't know any English when we first enrolled her. Within four months she could understand all the teacher's instructions and even speak short sentences. Yet the headmaster still said she wasn't speaking "long sentences." As an early-childhood educator, she failed to recognize this progress in a child entering a completely foreign environment. 3.Once she cried so badly that the headmaster came over to comfort her, but my daughter refused to talk to the headmaster and threw herself into the arms of her teacher. The headmaster concluded that my daughter lacked the normal ability to communicate. But my daughter had only met the headmaster twice -- she was basically a stranger to her -- so when she was sobbing, she rejected the stranger and ran to the teacher she knew. To me, that is a completely normal reaction -- yet in the headmaster's eyes, it meant my daughter "couldn't communicate properly." 4.The headmaster claimed my daughter would cry loudly, scream, and stomp her feet in class. But from a very young age she never behaved that way; even in the first two months at Challenger she only cried quietly out of fear -- never screamed or stomped. Only after being moved to a different class and failing to adapt to the new teacher's methods did she show those intense reactions. She was using her own way to cry out for help -- yet the headmaster and teachers didn't see it. At home she also became moody and unreasonable. Because of what the headmaster said, we decided to withdraw her. We enrolled her in a new school, and I was worried she might not adapt -- new environment, new teachers, new friends. But after only a few scattered days of crying, she quickly grew to love school! In talks with her new teacher, I, as a parent, deeply felt the teacher's love for children, her understanding and acceptance. She treated my daughter like a child -- a real child. That's why my daughter was able to feel safe and confident so fast. Now she's been at the new school for three months, and every day she's very happy -- her English communication is no problem at all. This has only strengthened my conviction: my daughter was never the problem -- it was Challenger's teaching philosophy.

This school is wonderful. Parking and pick up can be frustrating sometimes but that's on the lazy parents who do not want to park appropriately and walk a few feet to pick up their children. If my kid had an issue with another child they would call me and explain the situation or I could easily text the teacher and she would handle it. The teachers seemed very interested in my kids education as both of them also require IEP for speech delay and autism.
