First - reading the review prior to mine - I couldn't be more shocked. Our remodel was just finishing up as their project was starting and I strongly believe some of what is said below is wildly fabricated. Josh was nothing short of a consummate professional on our job. Did everything go perfect? No - does it ever on a major home renovation project? But Josh made sure every single issue was taken care of. Including when an electrician royally screwed up our wiring. Josh lost a lot of time and money having it redone and didn't even try to up-charge me for the difference despite the lost time, materials and re-do of the job by a new electrician. Even months after the job was done - he has come back to fix minor issues that pop up (grout fixes, etc) and has never charged us one extra penny. I have recommended Hastings to several friends and neighbors - including a friend who has them doing a full second story addition on their house right now and is very happy and our neighbor who runs a major house flipping company (tv show) and he has hired them on to help him as well. We will be having Josh and the boys back soon to remodel a bathroom for us. If anyone wants pictures or more info feel free to reach out to me. Remember that there are two sides to every story and Josh is being kind in his responses to the prior review. I'm the pickiest and most honest customer (just ask josh ha!) and we will work with Josh on any project we have.

In a business where delays, miscommunication and overcharging are often common, Bryan is excellent at budgeting time and resources and absolutely trustworthy with your home and projects. He is beyond detail oriented and committed to excellent work. His team is professional, tidy and responsive. During the addition build-out, his team actually discovered several issues that our original builder had done poorly and Bryan was super helpful connecting us with great sub-contractors to fix issues we wouldn't have seen until the damage was much worse. I would absolutely work with Bryan again on any home project.

From before it started to after it finished, Bryan was professional, patient, and kind. We ended up refinancing with a loan that required additional hoops for Bryan to jump through, and he was timely and thorough in all that was asked of him by the lender. Also, Bryan's initial estimate only veered when he uncovered some prior damage to the house and when we altered what we wanted, there were no surprises. The work he did was incredible. We went from a 3/1 with a tiny kitchen and no real dining space or laundry area (both were contained to the kitchen area), to a 3/2 with a massive (to us) master suite, a beautiful kitchen, a dining area, and a laundry room. In addition, he oversaw the work on new siding, new windows and flooring throughout. I'm so glad we used Bryan and have/would recommend him to anyone looking to do work on their house.

The result is beautiful. Multiple people have commented that my house looks "new," and it really does. To receive quality service that surpasses expectations is so rare these days -- Bridger may be that unicorn. I highly recommend John, Max, Freddy, and the entire team. The crew was incredibly hard working. I was continuously impressed not only by that but the positive attitudes and getting it done with a smile.

The job could have been completed in 2weeks--took 4weeks--but they had to come back repeatedly to fix their mistakes. They replaced 5"trim with 4"trim, so had to come back and put back in new 5" trim. The siding they used was shorter than the existing siding , so had to add trim on the bottom to cover the gap, etc, etc., etc. They made no effort to protect the plants around the house. Plants were broken, stomped out of existence, and overspray covers my rhododendron and laurels. I provided them with an itemized listing of all the plants destroyed (didn't include those oversprayed bc hope they'll be okay eventually) and gave them a choice to replace or deduct their cost from the total job. This winter I noticed in the garage/shed that there were huge gaps between the boards where they replaced rotten boards. If I could upload pictures, I could show this, along with the poor wood boards they used to replace those they removed. There is a 1/2" space between two boards. I texted Bridger Designs and asked them to replace the poor boards with good boards big enough so there wouldn't be gaps, but they refused and sent me the name of their lawyers. It was a poor experience all the way around. Every day I'd have to bring mistakes to their attention. The owner and manager weren't around. And, only one of the workers seemed to understand English. They kept having to do things over!! Why they didn't try to do it right the first time makes no sense except to save money on materials. And still, I'm left with a shed /garage that now needs serious repair--even the paint appears to be buckling where they made their patches. I filed a complaint with BBB, but they have not responded.

I sent a few requests out to several different contractors and Lars was the first one to contact me. I booked a flight and met with several contractors and was impressed by how thorough Lars was in his walk through of the property and the questions he was asking, many of which the other contractors never mentioned. He was the only one to look in the attic for electrical access and head clearance and the only one that looked into my septic permit to ensure the new rooms would be legal. The project went exactly as scheduled, other than a delay due to a big snow storm which he obviously had no control over. He was onsite every day, kept me updated with pictures, and let me know what the next step was. His communication was always prompt which I appreciated since I couldn't be present. His attention to detail was great and left the house looking like the rooms had always been there, instead of looking like an "add-on". All in all, I am very happy with his work and happy that I found a nice, professional, dependable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy contractor for all my future needs! Was to use the drawer and door faces from old cabinets. He promised it would work just fine. When they did not fit, he just left me hanging with $2800 in cabinets that are useless to me stating that I could: a) get custom doors made to rectify; b) use the horrible faces that did not match which came with his order; OR c) I should try and sell them on Facebook marketplace and see what I could get. Nick hardly ever showed up at the job, always in a rush, left his very young helper (son-in-law) to do everything and his helper had thrown the boxes the cabinets came in away so they could not be returned.
