Her fluency…read morein both Cantonese and English and her extensive knowledge of the local real estate market makes her an invaluable resource for anyone navigating the housing market as first-time immigrant buyers. Detailed: My family does not speak English and I was looking for a skilled bilingual realtor who can help me facilitate communications. I met Silvia at a local open house and was impressed with her knowledge of the local real estate market. As a young first-time buyer, I had limited knowledge about the housing process and had many questions. Silvia patiently answered each one, providing clear explanations and guidance every step of the way. When she did not have an answer (especially when it was related to loans), Silvia referred me to a knowledgeable broker. Throughout the house searching process, Silvia was flexible and accommodated to my busy work schedule. I had the option to attend open houses by myself or with Silvia. During the open house, Silvia was attentive and provided valuable insight that I was able to learn from. For example, our family wanted to move into a house that required less renovations. Silvia kept that in mind and would note potential renovations and permitting requirements, especially at older homes. Additionally, her Cantonese and English language skills help me communicate more technical real estate terms and market expectations to my non-English speaking family members. This helped my family move as a unit and ensure that all family members understood the decision-making process. Silvia was always available to address our concerns and kept us informed at every stage of the transaction. During the bidding process, she gave me insight from a seller's perspective and what type of contingencies sellers would look at. With Silvia's advice, my family was able to submit competitive offers that were still affordable for our price point. When I submitted my first offer, Silvia spent extra time explaining the legal documents (i.e. offer letter, negotiations) to me and gave realistic expectations on the number of other buyers/offers. During the negotiation process, Silvia also fought for our interest and made sure that my family was able to reach a reasonable compromise with the seller. What truly set Silvia apart was her dedication to her clients beyond the closing. She not only provided excellent contractor recommendations but also continued to assist us with inquiries and follow-up even after we closed on the house. Her commitment to our satisfaction and her willingness to go the extra mile truly made a difference. Our family felt comfortable and cared for. We are grateful for Silvia's expertise and ongoing support. I recently recommended her to a friend in a similar situation as my family and we recommend her services to anyone else looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable realtor.
