I have had appointments with two other dentists, one in Candler North Carolina, the other in Asheville North Carolina. Neither of which could find anything wrong with my tooth, or the source of the pain. I decided to take a chance on this dentist because of the favorable comments that my neighbors gave. Note that we just moved to this area in March 2020. First, I contacted the dentist office and they were able to give me an appointment within two days. The visit was OK. But, they took a considerable amount of time with me to isolate the area of pain. They were able to discover that I have two teeth side-by-side that have cracks. This was something that neither dentist that I attended before even took the time to try and find. I am not happy about the results, two cracked teeth. But, I'm very happy that this dentist took the time to isolate the problem, find a solution, and work with me to resolve this issue. As an example of the not-so-smart: One of the technicians suggested I use fluoride to make my teeth stronger. I don't know how people take out loans and go to schools that teach such idiocy and then try to push it on the public with an authoritative stance -but I know full well that Fluoride is a neruo- toxin and a by-product of the aluminum industry and everyone with half a brain cell knows it calcifies the pineal gland and does organ damage - yet they recommended it for my teeth. Their equipment is outdated. I feel like when I visit they are using the same machines I saw in high school. There are a lot of new technologies this office can't afford to bring in, which also bothered me about the office. Having said that - I told the office manager directly that she stepped out of line when not helping me to pay my bill properly. I always bring cash but chose another option and she was haughty and rude and thought it was ok to tell me that I had to jump through hoops - instead of doing her job. I was an office manager for years and know full well that she was being bossy and lazy by not doing what I asked - and then she told the doctor I offended her and they had an office meeting and asked me not to return ?!? Well - they are getting reported to the state for bullying and I am not even sure of the legality of having a meeting and discussing a patient with the whole office. I hope they have meeting notes to produce in court because I want to know if that is even legal. Wish them all the best. They are nice people but really dense.

I was "fired" as a patient for having dental anxiety due to a previous trauma. Dr. Quilhot during my first two appointments made his frustration & irritation with me clear. I came back to support local versus going to Asheville or Sevierville for dental care, but today was told by Dr. Quilhot not to come back. I don't know why they have a service dog if they're not capable of treating patients with anxiety. I thought I found a dentist that was caring. I was wrong. Dr. Quilhot is judgmental & is callous when it comes to dental patients with anxiety. I came in for an appointment which in itself causes me anxiety. Today I left with a few issues & a few appointments on the books to take care of them little by little, so yes I was a little worried knowing I'm looking at about 4 appointments in the near future + an impression. The front desk here then told me my insurance would cover $0 of a crown. So then there's $930 I owe on top of numerous appointments that make me anxious. I was emailing back & forth with them about my insurance because I saw it did cover some when I logged in as a member. Dr. Quilhot called my emails "tense" & fired me as a patient. At the end of our exchange, Dr. Quilhot went so far as to blame me for taking up his time during his lunch. No one made him respond to my emails. I hadn't even expected a response immediately. I didn't demand an immediate response. In no way did I force him to email me back, but yet he's annoyed I took up his time. The patient should not be shamed for the provider's inability to deal with anxious patients in a reasonable manner, which is what Dr. Quilhot did today. Shame on this clinic for shaming their patients.

It is in my insurance network though and I had an appointment the day after I called. Which was great for my schedule and timing for me. While they may not have the fancy cubicles, equipment and adornments in the dental area here. It has a nice feel and contemporary casual aspect, no pretense and comfortable. I like how it has a quality feel with no pretense. They are respectful of peoples needs, but do not linger on them, they are nice people and provide professional and efficient service. You may not see a computer, but they get the job done. I know what my insurance covers before I go into any medical appointment and they knew what my coverage was also. win win in my book! I have been to other places with all the razz mataz tech set up, but still could not get my name right in the system. They greet you by name and remember the little things here, which makes the visit comfortable and less stressful. I have a real and lingering phobia/stress about dental work and dread even a simple cleaning. The staff is friendly and Dr. Isaac Quilhot is very professional and straight forward on what he will and can do. (The best looking Dentist I have ever been to also!) On my first visit I was there to see if I could save a crown, that was bothering me. Dr. Isaac was straight forward on what we could do and the cost estimate to save it verse other options. I liked the pull it and do an implant later option he purposed. I was not really mentally ready to have it pulled that day, but he was confident he could do it efficiently and with minimal stress on me. I liked his approach and agreed to do it, which was a pretty amazing thing for me to do. He pulled the tooth for me and made it bearable and minimized my stress issues with it all. I do not regret going with his proposal and plan. If he sees an issue, he will address it there and then, without another appointment. Which is nice, but depends on that days schedule. The 2nd visit was my cleaning, which went well and was efficient and well done. The 3rd was my replacement filling, which went well and was done efficiently and as best it could with my issues. The shots he gave me were done with care and considerations. I had no lingering affects later and no jaw pain the next day or the day of. I wish the arms on the chairs were longer so I could have gripped them (white knuckled them) , I am a tall person though. I made it through with my issues though and Dr. Isaac ( that's what they call him) was done in 30 min as he said it would take. It was not a rush job, just efficient and focused effort. Which I appreciate and returned for. The equipment may not be all fancy and you may not see a lot of frills in the cubicles (great TV though!) but it is comfortable and very efficient and everything is done with professional confidence and care. The prices are very good and affordable, I like the place as much as a person can with Dentist work issues. I recommend it to anyone, that is needing efficient, focused, caring and straight forward care and dental work. My family is now seeing Dr. Isaac also. If your the type that needs to talk to the postal counter person or checker at the grocery store for an extra 5 - 10 min, while there is a line behind you. Please don't go in. I don't like waiting in a dentist office anymore than having the work actually done. If you value straightforward, efficient quality care that is done with confidence and professionalism, this is the place for you! By 9:45 Dr. Barham had ground down part of the tooth, and bonded a replacement wedge to the tooth, and I was walking out the door! I was…read moreliving in a health care desert at the time, so I could only get a removable partial plate to replace it. Once I moved to the Asheville area I immediately looked for a dentist. AER is on my way home from the city, and when I saw the "accepting new patients" sign on the front I stopped in and made an appointment with Dr Martins to schedule implants to provide a permanent solution. And I am so glad I did. Dr. Martins and his staff have been wonderful from day one all the way through yesterday when they installed the new smile. they carefully and accurately described the whole process, including potential challenges. Everything went exactly as described. The surgery went smoothly with no discomfort. Recovery was milder than expected, I took one ibuprofen the next morning and that was the extent of my discomfort management needs. Healing posts were installed a couple of weeks later, and then upgraded when my gums were ready. After another month or so of healing I came into the office to get "fitted" for my replacement smile. The electronic scanning process they used was so much easier to tolerate than the old-fashioned white "goop" molds that I had used previously that I was amazed. The molds had always been the worst part of major dental work for me. The replacement was ordered, and three weeks later when it arrived I went in for the installation. Again, no discomfort whatsoever, and it fit perfectly the first time. Now, I can smile again, and I can speak clearly again. Maybe the most amazing result came last night when for the first time in over two years I could brush all my teeth together, at the same time, with the same toothbrush. Maybe a little thing, but it signaled to me that my life was back to normal. I can't thank Dr Martins and his enough. For their kind attitude, their completely professionalism, their willingness to answer questions and work with me. And the amazing and wonderful results. I can not recommend Dr Martins and his team highly enough. I'm 73, and he is by far the best dentist I have ever had.

The staff is very kind and attentive. I was offered water or coffee by the receptionist and the assistant offered me a blanket for comfort. When my treatment was finished, I was given a warm towel for my face. Everyone was so friendly. I will never go anywhere else!!
