I was told the fillings are not even close in color and were rushed. I now need crowns on all those teeth because the fillings were not done right. I see plenty of great reviews but when it came to me, I guess it was too much to handle correctly. Again, the staff are very kind and I really like them, but the pain and suffering from this whole experience really sucks. I have pain now that I did not even have before. My teeth suck, I get that, but I went seeking help. I am terrified to go to any dentist now from all of this and that says a lot. I am not asking for a full refund, but I am looking at least at another $10,000 on top of the almost $10,000 I paid just to get back to where I am now plus everything else that was left to do when I stopped going to this office. I was basically told by someone else I should have everything pulled because it's now a mess, so instead of a nice smile, I will have dentures due to the poor repairs not being save-able. If this office makes this right, I will change the review, but until then it stands as a warning to others like me. Changing review from 5 to a 2 for now. Not too happy at the moment. Will be calling. My recent repairs are all failing and one just broke off. Very nice staff, very nice new building, but having spent 10,000 in recent work which is failing makes me want to go somewhere else. My next appointment I saw the hygienist Cathy, Oh she is an angel!! I have never had anyone with such a light touch, very gentle and caring about the individual. My last visit Dr Whiting performed two root canal procedures and one extraction. He and his assistant many times checking to ensure I was comfortable, or if I had any questions. The entire Dental practice is top notch professional with the best patient care, it is amazing truly! Afterwards I had very little pain or discomfort, just a little soreness that regular Ibuprofen took care of. Several months ago I had a procedure, (not connected or associated to Smiles for Life) that was not as involved as this visit for the root canals and extraction. I had to miss 4 days of work with lots of bruising and swelling with a knot the size of a tennis ball on the side of my jaw!!! Instead of doing the honest and professional thing by referring me to a specialist, he continued to incompetently place the one-size-fits-all solution he sells: the mini-implant. Randomly placing those look-alike implants precludes the possibility of a comprehensive dental plan. They were in the way, poorly placed and two were not entirely covered by their crown. Mini implants are smaller, thinner and not as stable, with a shorter life expectancy than conventional implants. Even so, they do require some degree of judgment and precision as to placement which was absent. All the dental work done by Doug Wright was inexpertly executed but his most egregious action is placing mini-implants which lack strength and longevity. Please explore other options with other dental professionals to avoid falling into the trap of his short-sighted and self-serving dentistry.

I have seriously considered suing this dentist,…read morewhich is why I did not review publicly immediately after my incident with them a few years ago. I should have known not to continue care with Dr. Eye after he was so rude to me that I started crying in his waiting room. Hindsight is 20/20. I went to this dentist in college, and was told that I had 8 cavities and needed a crown on one tooth, after never having a cavity before in my life. I'm not saying I absolutely never needed all this work, but I am deeply skeptical now. I foolishly allowed this dentist to perform the work, to the tune of about $1500 over and above what was covered by my insurance, if I remember correctly. He somehow convinced me to use some new type of crown not completely covered by insurance, which was supposed to have a 5 year guarantee. Cut to a year later, after having pain in several teeth and switching to a new dentist in town. She discovered that all of the work Dr. Eye had performed was done wrong, that there was decay under all of the fillings, and that my crown was about to fall right off my tooth. I had to have ALL of this work re-done no more than a year after it was performed, and none of it was covered by insurance because they had already paid out for it the previous year. Several thousand more dollars and a great deal of emotional trauma ensued. Then, after having the second crown placed on my tooth, I kept getting pain and had to gave root canal therapy, which I believe may have had something to do with the trauma caused by two crowns within one year. Now, three years later, I may lose this tooth, and I believe that the shoddy care I received from this practice may be a contributing factor. If I could find enough proof to sue for malpractice, I would have. Stay as far away from this practice as possible, and know that if they recommend treatment they will drastically upsell and overcharge you. They also are not receptive to questions about the treatments they perform, how they are done, and why thy are necessary. Even if you have to drive to another town for a dentist in your insurance network or pay out of pocket for a second opinion, don't hesitate. And if you've had problems with them, I highly suggest contacting the American Dental Association to report Dr. Eye and asking your new dentist to provide a statement of the work they had to repair, if they're willing to do so.
