Three things: 1:…read moreConsidering that I'm patient with DHA and my daughter having terrible dental pain, I got an appointment for her right away, which was wonderful! Very thankful! The x-rays taken, per the dentist, did not show any cavities or broken teeth and diagnosed her with pregnancy induced gingivitis. Two days later, my daughter was still in excruciating pain, which warranted an emergency visit to another dentist for a second opinion and to have another look at her x-rays. The second set of x-rays showed a fractured tooth and a root abscess in teeth numbers 1 and 2. After the news, we contacted DHA, they got her in right away, which was wonderful! They took another set of x-rays, that showed a broken tooth and an abscessed root on the another tooth. These needed to be extracted right away. Another dentist in the office had room in his schedule to perform the extractions, so that's what we did. 2: Here is when things went south. During these entire extractions, the dental assistant, per my daughter, did not use hardly any suction during this process, even with the encouragement of the dentist. My daughter stated that she had to swallow lots of blood and chips off her teeth because the dental technician, did not do her job appropriately. This is unacceptable! My daughter had to endure 1.5 hours worth of extraction work and sutures, without help from the technician, who has obviously ignored multiple requests from the doctor, to suction in the back. She did not listen. I'm appalled and severely upset over the lack of care and assistance by the technician, and have decided to not only review here and on yelp, but to write a letter to dental board and the dental assistant board (or whatever board that passes these dental assistants) regarding this issue. Unfortunately, which I thought was an isolated incident back in March, when I had dental work done, another dental assistant, did the did the same thing to me, but with overpowering water spraying, very little suction, especially in the back, which forced me to swallow a lot of water and sediment, as well. Beyond that, water was running down my face, dampening the shirt I was wearing that day. Now that we both have experienced the same treatment, with two different assistants, I've come to the conclusion that this is a training issue and it should be remedied fast and in a hurry!! As much as I appreciate and enjoy my dentist's care and attention to detail. 3: Prior to the extractions, my daughter was handed a treatment plan by the secretary, who stated that she would have to pay over $2,263.72 up front for the extractions and bone grafts, but thankfully , the office manager, called her insurance company, which wound up covering most of the amount, leaving an up front charge of $958.34!!! The office secretary should be re-trained, as well, and investigated for making patients pay astronomical amounts of money without calling the insurance to see what they actually cover. My gosh!!!! What's next?!?!

Check was deposited a few days later. Thought issue was resolved. In October received a "FINAL NOTICE" stating that balance would be sent to collection. I made copies of canceled check and presented them to the office manager, who stated that we had been sent 3 statements before the final one (NOT RECEIVED) and that she would have contact 'the office' to resolve the issue. COnfronted with the evidence of payment -- I would have expected an apology or at least assurance that the issue was resolved. No such luck....
