Joseph Knedgen, DPM FACFAS DABFAS - Doctor Knedgen was correct. Without the scanning tool at Becks. I was getting inserts for my shoes. Thanks! - Podiatrists Near Me - Reno, Nevada

When my husband was in his 40s, he began experiencing numbness in his feet. During an appointment, Mr. Knedgen noticed the dryness and discoloration on one of my husband's toes. Rather than recognizing these as potential signs of a medical condition or showing compassion, he was unkind, demeaning. After seeking care from a different physician, we learned that my husband has diabetes. The numbness, dry skin, and toe discoloration were all classic symptoms of the disease. Instead of helping identify a serious underlying medical condition or treating my husband with dignity, he was quite frankly, an ass. read more

Sorry to leave this feedback Dr Knedgen. Neither previous podiatrists - that I saw, "burned" my corn off. I just took off the rap you put on around my foot and the corn on the bottom of my foot is still present and hurts just as bad or worse! There's actually a dime size bubble of raise white inflamed area below the corn that wasn't there before! Both previous podiatrist ground it down. No chemical burn. As a result of the lack of relief with the pain I'm experiencing from the corn on the bottom of my foot... I'm seeing my previous podiatrist in San Francisco. I was hoping to find someone closer. Just one more feedback, this is the first doctor's office that I was required to pay the copay - before I saw the doctor. Best regards. read more

Because of unfortunate side effects of chemotherapy I ended up with a chronic complicated foot wound. I found Dr Knegden because he was recommended by my primary doctor. I have been seeing him regularly for over 5 years now. My feet have required simple treatments and my feet required complicated more advanced treatments. At each step his diagnostic accuracy has been spot on, and treatment provided has led to healing of each subsequent issue my cancer drugs caused. If something is not within his training, he helps find the best option to refer me. His treatment and his referral to Northern Nevada Wound Clinic more than likely saved my foot from amputation!! His office is always warm and friendly, well trained employees and front office. It's easy to tell cleanliness is a priority. I've had in office minor surgical procedures. Again due to my cancer I've seen an extensive number of doctors, I can now judge the quality of someone's hand eye skills. This man was born to be a surgeon. I was excited to hear his son is completing his surgical training at top US universities and will join him in the near future. I cannot recommend him more highly! read more

I've seen Dr. Knedgen continuously since 2012 for diabetic foot care including nail trims, ingrown toe nails, missing toe nails, basically the gamut of foot problems that occured over several years. Dr. Knedgen is direct and to the point in his suggestions for treatment and getting your feet in good working order, yet he is always kind and we usually talk about everything from family to medicine to history over the course of a visit. He's very easy to like and trust and I trust his judgment 100%. The front office staff has always been kind and treated me with respect and kindness when I've had billing questions or issues. Overall, I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Knedgen and his staff and I appreciate his efforts over many years in getting my feet in excellent health. Recommend him and and his office highly. read more

The exceptional care provided by Dr. Knedgen and his staff has consistently been top-notch for me and my family. He is always punctual, professional, courteous, thorough, and compassionate, and he always goes above and beyond by providing me with detailed plans for my future foot care needs. As someone in the healthcare industry myself, I can attest to the high standards of care that Dr. Knedgen and his team consistently deliver. It is so important for me to tell everyone that I have always had a positive experience with billing at Dr. Knedgen's practice and believe that any negative reviews related to payment processes should be disregarded. In light of the recent Change Health Care Cyberattack, it is understandable that insurance claims may have been delayed (sometimes 4 months plus!!!) impacting billing timelines. It is important to consider these external factors before passing judgment on the billing practices of healthcare providers. We are so fortunate to have this level of private care in Reno! read more

I needed surgery on my foot for severe pain. My insurance had several Podiatrist that I could go to, but after doing some research on various medical websites I selected Sierra Podiatry Associates whose main podiatrist is Dr. Joseph F Knedgen, DPM. I had my initial consolation with Dr. Knedgen, he took X-Rays and then sat down with me to go over my options. He never pushed me in either direction via encouraging or discouraging, he just presented the facts for each option, answered my questions and just left it at that. In fact, several time with various procedures he literally offers to help but leaves the decision up to me. I appreciate the non-guilting and non-pressure atmosphere of his office. Not ever having surgery, I was very hesitant to have it, I was willing to keep living with the pain. However, as the pain progressed, I finally caved about two months after my initial consolation and asked for the surgery. The surgery went well, every follow up appointment has gone well. Dr. Knedgen has always taken the time to answer my questions, addressed immediate issues e.g. infected toe and I'm unable to get my foot wet to soak it, and does the coolest foot wrappings ever! I also appreciated that when Renown wasn't going to let me wear my 4 Way Cross during the Surgery (until I protested enough that they caved and said that if Dr. Knedgen approved it, I could wear it), he had no issues with me keeping my Cross on. Dr. Knedgen has a pleasant demeanor and a calm energy, as an Introvert I appreciate both, but I also feel these are good qualities for one in the medical profession. He also has a very quirky-dry sense of humor, which also can be a nice quality for a doctor to have - if you can laugh prior to going into surgery or when you are told your pins aren't ready to come out, that is always a positive. Days after the surgery, my foot hurt less than prior to it. I cannot wait have my Air Boot off and be able to hike again without issue! Lastly, the office and Exam Rooms are spotless. The waiting room is comfy. The Office Staff are professional and friendly. They are upfront and accurate about costs. Getting an appointment is easy and without having to wait for weeks / months. I'd totally recommend Sierra Podiatry Associates along with Dr. Knedgen. I still need to have the other foot worked on and I'm already planning to come back here. read more

Dr. Knedgen took wonderful care of my sister. He has a beautiful bedside manner and made her and myself feel at ease during her appointments with plenty of laughter! She had to have surgery on both pinkie toes and has had no issues since. His staff is very professional and polite with scheduling appointments, answering questions, and helping with billing! Would highly recommend Dr. Knedgen to anyone who wants to see a great podiatrist! read more

I Would not recommend at all. The Dr is average and not special enough to make up for the front desk and billing staff. This is one of those small offices that outsource all their billing and have no control. So instead of them sending you a real bill they just send you to collections and you end up with collections bills for $25. I'm a responsible adult with the same address for 10 years. know when I get bills and don't get bills. So when I called the office they said there's nothing they can do about it, they didn't care and they were pretty snippy and sassy about it so then I got pissed :) When you have seen a doctor a couple times and your kids have seen that doctor you just expect a higher level of professionalism and you also expect a doctor to maybe not lose a client over $25. It felt like I was at the return counter of the dollar store. Zero cares, accountability, or desire. I was so amazed at their lack of professionalism I was going to have our corporate lawyer write a letter just because they need to learn a lesson. But, then realized it's just $25 and I had let a little kid who doesn't care get me fired up. As as I write this I kind of feel bad for the doctor. How long has he studied to get his practice and how long has he worked to build his business only to have some non-invested employee massacre his client base. Then again in a 3 person office if he doesn't recognize he doesn't get our pity or our business read more

Just got back from having the doctor take care of an in-grown toe nail. It all was done right away in the office. I have gone to Doctor Knedgen several years ago had great success with surgery on my other toe, so I trusted him and went back for his services again. He is funny and easy to talk to. I would recommend him to others. read more

Beware of this doctor. Although he seems to be a very good doctor, his Napolean complex is quite annoying and his billing department may turn you into collections even though you've paid your bills. Just received a notice from a collection agengy representing his office for a date of service I have a receipt showing I have paid in full. I even have a receipt showing showing that the last statement I received from their office has been paid in full. Clearing this up is going to be a nightmare easily avoided had his office sent me any further correspondence prior to turning my account over to collections. Not sure what I owe him for, but I certainly would have paid it if I do. Turning anyone over to collections should not be taken lightly. read more

I am an active, physically fit senior who walks a lot as my favorite exercise, but recently I experienced foot pain that made walking difficult. My medical physician recommended Podiatrist Dr. Joseph Knedgen ( 6580 S. McCarran Blvd., Suite D-1, Reno, Nv 89509. (775) 826-9559). X-rays were taken & Dr. Knedgen thoroughly explained what needed to be done. Cortisone injections helped immediately as did the special shoe inserts I needed. The next day I was able to walk without pain! I highly recommend Podiatrist Dr. Joseph Knedgen. read more

bastard didnt do shit charged 376 for 5 min then 59 for missed appointment them sent me to collections for 59 bucks still have same problem

Dr. Knedgen and I have been trying various options to treat my very painful hammer toes. He listened to my concerns about surgery, assessed the situation, started treatment with anti-inflammatory drugs and exercise. When that didn't make enough improvement, we tried cortisone shots. That helped for a while but finally we decided that surgery was necessary. I appreciated his willingness to try alternatives rather than rushing right into surgery. His office staff is friendly and competent. The wait time once you are checked in is always very short. Appointments are reasonably easy to set up. Dr. Knedgen is friendly, a good listener, careful when treating my tender toes and clear about what recovery will entail. I recommend him to anyone who needs a podiatrist. read more

What can I say about this place but trying to make a quick buck. What do I mean by that well to make this short and sweet I will just say my husband was in need of a foot doctor who can help him with the pain he gets every once in a while. When going to see the Dr. He explained what was happening to his foot. The Dr examined his foot and he ended up pushing so hard in the middle of his foot and injuring him even more. He did not help him instead he made it a lot worst. What I mean by worst is my husband can walk so much before he needs to get off that foot and rest it. They then began to charge us for the injured foot they caused and we tried to tell them look the dr was not help he made to foot even worst then what he originally came in with. They then decided to send us to COLLECTIONS and not contact us anymore. To this day 4 months later my husband still has the injured foot. I hope this helps anyone one out there. read more

I scheduled an appointment for my dad for foot nail care and toe sores review. He is Diabetic so it is important to address sores in particular because if left without treatment may lead to amputation. Dr. Knedgen was very informative and caring he took care of the nails personally and prescribed an antibiotic for the toes. He had to defer further review of the toes to a vascular surgeon but, stated if this became a challenge to call him and he would address further review of the situation. The visit was encouraging. read more

It was so wonderful to make an appointment with a doctor and able to be seen within a couple of weeks (not months like other doctors). But, more importantly, I appreciate that in my first visit I was able to be examined, xrays taken (at the dr. office), diagnosed, and given a cortisone shot (s) in one visit! This normally takes 3 visits and 3 months! Very nice doc and staff, but having everything taken care of in one visit was tremendous! Thank you!!!! read more

The office and staff are great when you are there. My insurance apparently does not cover "Durable Medical Devices." So I received a bill for that from the office. $350 for a walking boot. Keep in mine, the boot I was given has their website listed on the boot. I was shocked by the price of the boot and wanted to see what the manufacturer charges. The same boot from them is $89.99. I called the office to see if there was an issue with how I was billed. They basically told me that is what they charge, there is no mistake and I have 90 days from the original invoice to pay the total amount or they send it to collections and that they will not accept payments or do a payment plan. I would NEVER recommend a Doctor who up charges over 350% and then threatens collections even when a patient is trying to pay their bill. I recommend finding someone else. read more

I went to see Dr. Knedgen back in June for a severely infected and ingrown toenail. His staff was very friendly and was able to get me in for an office visit on very short notice when other offices were unable to see within even a month's time of a booking an appointment. Dr. Knedgen was very friendly, explained exactly what he was going to do, and it only took him around 20 minutes to numb my toe, excise the nail and bandage me up. If I ever have another toe issue or an ingrown nail, I will definitely be returning to see Dr. Knedgen, he is a very nice man and a very competent podiatrist. Highly recommend him! read more

Listen, screw up you feet just so you can go see this guy. Going to the podiatrist should suck, but it's pleasant with Sierra Podiatry. Dr. Knedgen and his staff are great. They call days in advance to confirm you appointment. They got me in same-day when I was experiencing pain. The staff is casual yet professional. And the doctor practices great medicine. Dr. Knedgen is conservative in his treatment and clear in his explanations. He's patient when you're a big baby, which I absolutely am. I feel that I am under exceedingly competent and conscientious care with Sierra Podiatry. read more

Dr. Knedgen is a great doctor and a nice guy too! He has been managing my foot and toes issue for almost a year. He's friendly and funny and his office staff are nice and helpful. My mom wanted me to find Dr Knedgens email a dress just so I can thank him from her "since she doesn't speak English" she thought he was the best doctor. If I could I would leave no stars. I went to Dr.Knedgen about 6 months ago. I had an ingrown toenail and had it removed. When I got my first statement. I called to ask if I could make payments. I was told no they don't take payments but I can put money away and on my final statement I could pay it all. Three months is when I'll get my final statement. So I waited for my third statement and paid it off. When I went in for my other foot, I remembered they "don't take payments." So I waited until my second bill statement. Knowing I couldn't pay it all on the first statement. When I called, the lady who answered asked if I wants to pay the balance in full. I said no because they don't take payments. The gal proceeded to tell me they do take payments. So I made a payment. Today is the final day, of my final statement, to pay my balance in full. I called to ask if they could extend it a month because this was an error in communication on their end. The billing lady was a bit rude and said; "no because office policy doesn't allow it." She said she will need to look at it and call me later she was in the middle of something. All I'm asking is that they right their wrong because of the error in what I was told. I'm not asking for a discounted bill. I'm asking for one additional month because they gave me the wrong information from my first bill, on my first operation. read more

Dr. Knedgen is the best. My husband and I were on vacation. My husband is a diabetic when he stood on asphalt outsude the car for a moment he burned the bottoms of his feet. Saw Dr. Knedgen a few weeks ago. Removed a painful wart the same day. Followed up last week to make sure I was healing well with no charge for the follow-up visit. I do not have insurance. The surgical fee for the wart removal was fair. It included prescription for antibiotic and pain medication His paperwork was pretty standard. They did not require a SSN which I did not want to give out. I did have to pay first, like at a dentist office. I guess I don't blame them. His staff was friendly and organized. I would go back if I have another foot problem read more

I had ingrown toe surgery years ago here and had insurance. I have a couple ingrown toenails that I wanted Dr. Knedgen to look at to see if he could help me again. I told his staff on the phone, when I made the appointment, that I was now self pay. I asked how much an office visit was - $91. Okay. I arrived 3 minutes late. The staff asked for my insurance and a copy of my drivers license. I told them again, I did not have insurance. So they still wanted my drivers license which I thought was a little odd and asked why. They said they needed it for my file. Okay. They gave me 3 forms as they said I needed to update my file which took me 5 minutes. Then they said it was $91. A little later they said they needed me to pay that now. WHAT? I said "before services are rendered". I said "what if he does more and they said I would pay additional $ afterwards". REALLY! I waited 30 minutes and then asked how much longer it would be, as I had another appointment afterwards. I told her my time is just as valuable as the doctor's. They said we've asked you 3 times for payment - in other words you're not going to be seen without paying first. Then she said "and you were 20 minutes late" - that was news to me. I have never had this happen in over 40 years of going to medical professionals. HOW VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Go somewhere else - there's a couple podiatrists that have better ratings. Wonder why - can you say GREED. You are not going to get any help like the other reviewer said, unless his $ is already in the bank! read more
