I had been to two other foot doctors over the last 25 years, one for a fractured ankle and one for painful toenails that turned out to not be ingrown. The only reason I decided to go to a different doctor is that I had bad experiences with those two. I figured a foot surgeon was the way to go since for 20 years I have had back of the heel bone spurs and they were hurting lately plus some burning pain in my upper foot from shoes that had straps that were too tight. I found Dr. Roberts to be patient and kind but I got no answers for ways he could help me. He told me to do exercises at home for both feet with exercise bands and he would see me in four weeks. I believe this was for the pains in the upper feet. He told me surgery on the bone spurs is painful and there is a long recuperation period. So that ended that discussion. I went home got out my exercise band and worked both my feel like he suggested. After I got out of the chair I noticed soreness plus I had pulled my big muscle in the back of my thigh (hamstring). It was very painful and has not healed now in 2 weeks and I just re-injured it today when I had to move suddenly with my dog. I don't know how long this hamstring injury will take before it heals but it is hard to walk and it even hurts when I sit in a chair that puts my weight on it. I think when dealing with a Senior he should take into account that they are working different muscles and if they are not accustomed to working out with exercise band bad things can happen. This pain is worse that what I went to see him for. I had to cancel my next appointment as I need time to heal. read more
