He performed nasal surgery several weeks ago and I can actually breathe for the 1st time in years. I followed his instructions and came through with flying colors. Dr Ung is friendly and has a wonderful sense of humor(bedside manor). He answered all my questions and made me feel completely at ease. His evaluations regarding my nasal issues were 100% accurate and I wholeheartedly recommend him! Exams- I have very narrow nasal and sinus passages and always need to be scoped. Dr Ung is the best and it's quite comfortable. Dr. Ung's staff are efficient, friendly and empathetic. Dr. Kaszuba came highly recommended as an ENT; I needed one for my infant daughter since an IBCLC…read more(lactation consultant) stated that she thought my daughter has reflux. Boy, is he in high demand! Our appointment was more than a month after I called to schedule it. FYI, I had a really difficult time finding the office. The closest cross streets are 75th and Book Road. (NOT the Reichert Rd. side, as the GPS took me!!!) I attempted to call the office to assist me with locating the building, but I was routed to a call center (?!) where I was put on hold and then hung up on! Then, when I called back, the girl who had hung up on me stated she was going to use Google Maps (which I was already using) to help me find the office. Not helpful. I asked to be connected to the office itself. While I was on hold the second time, I ended up finally locating the building. When I arrived, I was clearly frazzled and apologized, explaining what had happened to a receptionist. She wasn't very friendly, asking another receptionist about the "15 minute (late) policy"... Sooo, after all that, she was looking to turn me away??? (The waiting room was completely empty, btw.) Gee, thanks. Minus one star for the whole debacle with staff both on the phone and behind the desk. Even though we were late for our appointment, Dr Kaszuba was very kind and told me it was not a big deal. He was very personable and friendly, and talked through what he was doing and seeing. He also had a great bedside manner! We went through a quick health history, he examined my daughter, and then he scoped her to see if there was any irritation on her larynx. Luckily there wasn't! I really liked Dr. Kaszuba and would happily see him again if we legit need an ENT in the future!

Unfortunately there is nothing I can do now. My advice, stay away from Dr. Kany. I have had microsuction performed by another Dr without issue. Do your research and see a reputable Dr, who's patient, careful and knowledgeable. The ringing in my ears is forever, which is frightening and has given me anxiety. Please, do your homework...in 5 mins, my ears are damaged forever. UPDATE: it's been more than 6 months and I've been told there is no hope and I must live with the ringing in my ears for the rest of my life. It's horrible. As I write this, it's so loud and bothersome. Dr. Kany actually billed me for the harm, pain and lifelong tinnitus he caused Do yourself a favor and do everything you can to avoid Dr. Kany. It simply isn't worth it, under any circumstance. Update: I've learned my tinnitus is permanent. It's even getting worse. It has caused anxiety and terrible bouts of depression/frustration. All of this from seeing Dr Kany to remove wax. To make matters worse, he continues to bill me for the procedure. I can't say this more directly...if you're not convinced by what happened to me, read the other reviews in Yelp...go a somewhere else because it is not worth the pain & suffering.

Dr. Ksiazek was very kind, calm, and helped put me at complete ease with my entire visit. (** Quick summary: For about 5 weeks, I had been having some continuous, unexplained "burning sensation" around my lower throat/voice box area. When it wasn't subsiding, I naturally became more concerned and then made the awful mistake of trying to diagnose myself "online", which only made matters 10x worse. I was a nervous wreck thinking I had something serious. After seeing several of my own doctors who didn't think it was anything of significant magnitude, they referred me to an ENT. Since the issue STILL wasn't subsiding, my worries weren't either. BY CHANCE, I found a quick appointment with Dr. Ksiazek at his Glen Ellyn office.) The entire experience was wonderful. From the time I signed in, I wasn't sitting in the waiting room but maybe 5 minutes when one of the nurses had called me back. I hadn't even made a dent in filling out the few pieces of paperwork. She was very kind and friendly - walked me back to one of the offices to await the doctor. After taking some quick vitals, the nurse said that Dr. Ksiazek would be right in. I am not exaggerating when I say no more than about 1 minute later, Dr. Ksiazek knocks and walks in and introduces himself. I was shocked (in a good way)! I hadn't even parked my car more than 10 minutes earlier and the nurse hadn't walked out more than 2 minutes ago. Perhaps by coincidence it was a very slow period, but still. As mentioned, I felt completely at ease. Dr. Ksiazek was kind, soft-spoken, and had a calming demeanor. He asked me to explain to him what was going on - and I took a few minutes doing so. I told him that after about 5 weeks, I had just worried myself sick trying to figure out what condition I had, and that it wasn't subsiding. Based on what I must have written when I scheduled the appointment (and perhaps reviewing my previous doctor visit notes and records in the system), it almost seemed Dr. Ksiazek had an idea of what was going on with me, but said he would do a scope of my throat to put me at ease. I had never had one of these before, and Dr. Ksiazek explained what it is, how he would do it, and said it was very quick and painless. The entire scope procedure was not at all uncomfortable, and quick - maybe 45 seconds tops. On a scale of 1-10, discomfort was maybe a 1.5. After I sat for about 5 minutes of having numbing spray put in my nose, Dr. Ksiazek ran a scope thru my nose (no pain, and he talked to me calmly as he did everything) and was able to see my throat. Long story short - I had common laryngeal reflux (similar to acid reflux) which had been happening so often it left me with the continuous burning sensation of my throat. I felt like 5 cinder blocks had been lifted off my shoulders. We also addressed my rare laryngeal spasms (feeling of waking up suddenly and not able to catch a breath) which he felt were also related to the reflux condition. I was prescribed some medicine to try, and Dr. Ksiazek told me to message him and just let him know how things were proceeding several weeks later. I left feeling with a huge sense of calm and relief - and all within about a half hour of walking thru the parking lot (Can't beat that! Again, this may be a unique situation just based on that particular day's schedule). I only wish I could have found Dr. Ksiazek sooner. I highly recommend him for any of your ENT needs or for any situation you may be having (ENT related) which may be of concern to you. You can even make some appointments online! Highly recommended, and I would def see Dr. Ksiazek again or refer my family to him!
